Another really comfortable stay in quality surroundings and a warm welcome from the staff. The Hart Suite is cosy and welcoming with great views over the surrounding countryside. My first choice of hotel when heading north or south as it’s very conveniently located near the M1 - but feels much further away thanks to its tranquil location. I look forward to the next time…thank you. MW.

Nice hotel, room well equipped, breakfast service was slow and only one cereal available, if you love spiders theres a big one in its web in the velxlux window above the stairs that lead up to the rooms. Other than that good value for £70 a night bnb but not great when saturday prices are £167 bnb on a Saturday night. Down side to was reception didnt open until 10 am on a Saturday even though sign said 9am. Would feel better if receotion was maned 24/7

Everything was lovely but I must point out that the cord from the hairdryer is too short please test it yourselves. It was impossible to sit to dry my hair

Great service from staff. Evening dinner and breakfast was not great at all. Had to complain as wasn’t nice and had to leave it some of the food wasn’t fresh was warmed up!!

Excellent for National Trust and similar properties in the locality. Restaurant food was superb, if a little slow coming to the table. Staff willing to help and assist when necessary. My only complaint (and this is why every area didn’t receive 5 *s), the room was cold according to my partner. We hadn’t asked the staff to adjust the room temperature which might have altered my assessment.

Lovely room but little details missed: bulb in side lamp not working/ fab rain shower but needed sorting as spraying water outwards than downwards. Small Tv put too high on wall. Disappointed as when booked it showed restaurant but after booking ( non refundable) I got 4 emails telling me no food available Mon & Tues. we arrived for breakfast at 08.30 but no cups available/ no coffee/no orange juice & tea in pot tasted perfumed… it wasn’t a breakfast black tea. Bacon over crispy & eggs too well done…these little things make all the difference…..sorry

From the moment of arrival the hotel and its staff were perfect, such a clean, bright and lovely hotel...awesome views, so peaceful too xx inclusive breakfast was so filing... the nights we stayed we ate at the sister hotel Horse and Jockey, superb menu and even with a shuttle service offered too... couldn't ask for more..

Really nice hotel, lovely location. However the restaurant seems to be trying to cater for a different cliantele, seemed to be priced at a premium level. Personally I would prefer an option to have some traditional pub food. All very nice.

Bit dark in restaurant area. Need add plate metal covers and large tray for room service if necessary. Pillows are bit too soft and spare ones are hard as well. Need medium pillow as average. Some carpet marks on floor. Overall are nice place to stay for good quiet relax stay.

We have stayed at the White Hart a number of times and have never been disappointed. The rooms are well appointed, nicely furnished and spotless. The bar/ restaurant has been recently refurbished and now has a more more al a carte menu. If that’s not to your taste the sister hotel, about a mile away, does a more traditional pub menu and there are a number of other dining options in South Winston. The hotel is perfect for a getaway and, if you’re into walking, it would make an ideal base to explore this part of Derbyshire. It’s no more than a 30-40 min drive to Matlock, Bakewell, the Monsal bike trail and Chatsworth House. The hotel is also a wedding venue and, I imagine, a pretty popular one too. All in all, highly recommended.

Smack in the middle of the beautiful countryside. Stunning views across the Peaks! Room was great: aircon; robes/slippers; jacuzzi bath; mini-fridge; very clean! Pleasant staff throughout although at breakfast there was only one waitress on who was rushed off her feet doing everything, and it wasn’t full. Although at breakfast there were apples and oranges it would’ve been better to have had a bowl of assorted fresh fruit salad. Overall a pleasant place to stay.
