We loved The Iris for our week in Charleston. Great location just a short walk from King Street and situated in a cool neighborhood within walking distance to fun restaurants and bars. We walked all over town from here. Our unit was super clean and well-appointed for the two of us. The bed was comfy, the kitchen and bath very modern and the living space was cozy but big enough to watch TV, snack and relax. We loved the "patio" space just outside our door as we chatted with other guests coming and going. The staff was VERY accommodating, helping us with our EV charger parking space. If you have a car, I recommend paying the extra parking fee as the on-site carousel is easy to use and safe. We will certainly stay here again and recommend to friends.

Great people to help us out. Clean and comfortable bed and space. Would have preferred upper level for outdoor space.

We loved our time at the Iris. The unit was clean and well appointed. It was laid out to be very functional with space. We had great communication with the staff and the parking carousel was easy to use-very convenient. We’d definitely stay again.
2.5
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice amenities and special touches such as a Welcome Gooodie Bag withe wine, chocolate and coffee. What’s not to love about that?! 😊
2.5
The location was perfect and within walking distance to restaurants and the historical parts of Charleston. We will definitely consider the Iris the next time we visit the area.

Nice, very clean and had all necessary items for a stay. Would have given a five but the location was a block away from a somewhat shady area. The hotel itself was very protected and safe though, gated etc… pleasant stay.
2.5
The staff was fantastic and helped me with all my needs. Property was as advertised.
2.5
Great location with several food options near by. Our unit was cute and super functional. I loved the shared outdoor space.

Clean, quiet, and convenient.

We got here, got up to our room, and were then told our room wasn't actually ready, despite having received a message that our room was ready, and it being after our check-in time. This resulted in us having to go back downstairs with all our stuff, and our kids.
It wasn't the biggest deal, but was little annoying. Our code for the pedestrian gate also didn't work, and the desk told us that they'd update it for us, but did not.
Overall, The Iris is a very sleek, modern hotel with some nice amenities. However, it does feel like maybe they're newer and still working out some of the kinks.
5.0
Outstanding amenities, the apartment is thoughtfully designed, the staff even left a welcome gift 💝!
Quite needed, after a long drive!
Parking instructions are very clear and even though it was the first time using the carousel parking, it all seemed pretty intuitive.
Check-in was seamless, and staff extremely patient in explaining all the functionalities available at THE IRIS
5.0
The Iris is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking to experience downtown Charleston. Just a block off of King Street, the property is within walking distance of the many shops, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues of Charleston's Historic District. The property and room themselves are clean, modern, and inviting. Absolutely loved our stay here and will come back!

expecting EV charger available hotel but instead lost easy access to the car and no access to charger at all. both caused huge convenience. I appreciated the cleanliness of hotel and management trying their best, however the inconvenience is beyond on top of hotel and parking expense.

This is a cute property in a great location! It was modern and clean. It even had a washer/ dryer if you need it. Everything is done via technology, from check in to parking, to check out. They did have staff on site to help navigate all of it and she was super helpful. The one lane entrance/ exit was the only downfall.

Lovely place!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Iris. We stayed in a superior suite which was bright and light and with all that we needed for four nights. It turned out we were in a great area with lots of delicious dining options and a short walk from King Street which is the Main Street in Charleston. We walked everywhere. We would totally recommend and would come back if we visit Charleston again.

This was so cute, a perfect set up with a small kitchen and laundry. Felt like a home rather than a hotel room! So clean and beautifully designed.

We had a great stay at the Iris. Inside and outside of the property was very nice and clean. It seemed like a quiet area yet it was a walkable distance to downtown. The apartment itself had everything we needed and a few nice little touches like the white noise machine and bottle of wine/waters. Our only issue was not being able to adjust the thermostat lower than the specific temp they set which made the unit feel a bit warm at times. However, I’d love to stay here again and would recommend it. Thanks!

We loved The Iris. Great location. Wonderful space. The furnishings were new and high quality. It was well equipped, even with a Dyson hair dryer. The bottle of wine, chocolate bar, coffee pods and personal note were a great touch. We didn’t use the car carousel but it looked really cool. The outside spaces were great. We will stay here again.

Beautiful apartment. Extremely clean and well appointed. Guest relations absolute 5 star. Would highly recommend.

The location was perfect. The only
cons are the parking. If you drive a truck/suv you’ll have to use the parking garage near the Hyatt which is a 10 minute walk. Also, if you have any kind of back issues the bed is not comfortable. It is super soft. Otherwise, cute place.

PROS
- Great location, interesting bars and restaurants close by.
- Big city loft-like environment, entered straight from the sidewalk. Spacious, double-height ceilings. Bright white-washed walls & electronic roller blinds for the floor-to-ceiling, wrap-around windows (previously must have been a shop front).
- Well stocked kitchen. Just missing a tea kettle!
- Lovely welcome gifts.
- Modern, sleek bathroom.
- Incredibly clean throughout.
CONS
- The apartment felt big and airy, but it was not cosy and felt very impersonal. Need more soft furnishings (& blankets) to absorb noise & art on the walls.
- Small bedroom space.
- The sofa and bed were uncomfortable - far, far too hard.
- The apartment is advertised to sleep four people, however, with the amount of light coming into the living area & the hard sofa, I do not agree.
- We couldn’t change the thermostat.
- Water pressure and temperature in the shower was poor/too cold.
- The edges of the window blinds don’t fully cover the windows - gaps at the sides - so if this might bother you, I’d opt for one of the internal apartments instead.
- The parking is too expensive - $25/day. We parked round the corner (five min walk) and three days cost us around $42, not $75!
- The check in is 4pm (at which point the day is pretty much done!) and the check out is 11am. When I enquired if we could get half an hour grace on checking out, I was told it would be a $75 surcharge!

This property is amazing! Great location and very quaint. I like the idea of it being like a small apartment, which includes a refrigerator, washer, dryer, and a stove top. The staff was amazing and they provided excellent communication.

Stayed for 5 days while touring places to live and this was the perfect stay. Perfect walking distance to downtown, safe codes to enter premise and room, comfortable room with lots if amenities. Our favorite part was the sound machine in the bed area.

Well thought out space. Close to all the hidden gems around the neighborhood.

The Iris was perfect. The room was very clean and spacious, and the staff was very helpful. I would definately stay at The Iris again if I go back to Charleston.

Good location, nicely equipped property. The welcome gifts were a nice touch. Plenty of storage, washer/dryer, dishwasher, dishes. It's got everything you need a few nice-to-have items like a white noise machine in the bedroom to help you sleep. The only nit to pick is the thin curtains in the bedroom. Blackout shades would be nice for sleeping in. We wished we had brought sleep masks. Other than that, great place. We would definitely stay here again.

Cool vibe, great location

lovely stay - weird that there wasn't a front desk to check in with and lots of hidden costs. Communication about costs was not clear and then I was locked in to a reservation I could not change

The property was very clean, close to downtown and the perfect size for us!

This is such a fantastic property! It's rare to read so many glowing reviews and not be a little skeptical, but The Iris is truly the real deal.
The apartment is a great use of space with adorable furnishings and decor, lots of amenities (welcome wine and chocolate, sound machine, Nespresso and Keurig machine, extra pillows), and thorough communication.
The welcome email/text was very detailed and included everything we needed for check in. The parking carousel was new to us, but the welcome info included detailed instructions and a YouTube link to make it easy to use. A welcome binder in the apartment was also very helpful, and we enjoyed restaurant suggestions!
The neighborhood is super walkable and has lots of "off the beaten path" coffee shops, brunch, dining options, and beautiful architecture. It is walkable to King St for shopping but a pretty long walk to the Charleston waterfront and market. It was about $7-8 for Uber to those areas, though.
Truly, this is such a great property and we had no complaints. Will stay here again if we get the chance!

My daughter and I stayed here when we toured the College of Charleston and loved it! It was only a 10-15 minute walk there and our room was like a studio apartment! So cute and savvy use of the space. Super clean and bright. Huge shower and the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on in a hotel. So many extras too- we loved the white noise machine and large TVs and tons of closet space. We cooked one of our meals there and all the cookware, dishes, utensils were there- easy peasy! The car carousel was a cool ingenious way to “park” so many cars. They give easy directions on how to use. I watched the video once and my 16 year old parked the car! The only thing I would mention is it is a 30 minute walk to the popular spots on King’s street- no problem with comfy tennis shoes, otherwise get Uber or there are bike taxis as well. We would definitely stay again. Easy check in and out.

We love the Iris! It is clean, new, and has everything you need. The staff is great too. Plan to stay there every time I visit Charleston!

Modern, clean, roomy, great in room amenities. Host is super responsive and helpful. Stayed in the large suite in the front to the left in the picture. Very comfortable and functional. Remember to put the shades down for when you come home in the evening. Highly recommend.

Of the hotels we’ve stayed at this was definitely one of the cleanest. There was a very sweet handwritten note with a bottle of wine and some goodie’s for our stay. We loved the noise machine—it’s hardly noticeable—and having both a nespresso and keurig brought my husband joy, we just needed more pods for his twice daily cups.
The location is just a few blocks from the busiest road, King Street, but be prepared for lots of walking! It was a joy to stay at Hotel Iris!
5.0
Our vehicle was too big to use the carousel so we had to park about a half mile away, which was inconvenient with two young children. Next time we'll get a smaller car.
5.0
The location was a ten minute walk to the top of King Street where you found lots of restaurants and bars. The neighborhood itself was quiet.
The unit was clean, comfortable and modern with many amenities.
Great location if you need to rent out a lot of units for a wedding or event.
Communication leading up to visit was sparse, but day of check-in they were very kind and helpful.
I would definitely stay again.

My sister and I took a trip to Charleston and stayed here and absolutely loved it! It is walking distance to so many things and the rooms are beautiful! They provided everything that is needed (even a step stool to reach the high cabinets for us short people!) We had a problem with our shower drain, but maintenance was very prompt and efficient. The staff was also very responsive and apologetic for the situation. The parking carousel seemed very scary at first, but once you got the hang of it, it wasn’t bad at all! We loved staying here and will be staying here again on our next trip!
