Ok stay

Wine welcome and coffee available all day long. Room cleanliness and toiletries.

Staff did not see too welcoming or caring. Prices are higher than expected, I would have expected more customer care at this rate.

Poor

I wanted to like this property. It has a lot going for it — great location, very nice public areas, room was as expected for a four star hotel. I also like a smaller hotel, which has the potential to be more intimate and friendly, but for my opinion on that see below.

The service, including the food was disappointing. I expected friendliness, but each time a needed something from the front desk there was an issue. Several times the person manning the desk was in a back room requiring you to call out. An unenthusiastic young person would then emerge. At other times — as when I wanted to check out — there was just a sign saying they had stepped away. In the three nights I stayed there my room was not cleaned once.I did spend some time in the room, but let them know when I would be gone for a few hours or most of the day, but each time I returned the room was untouched. Worst, in my opinion was the food. The first day I ordered a croissant for breakfast, which the person put in the microwave without asking. When I said I preferred a cold one to the hot deflated mess I was presented with, I was told all the baked products were from yesterday. Still, I was charged $6.50 for a day old croissant. The second day I ordered a kale Caesar salad, which consisted of 50% croutons and was inedible. In addition, both I and some other guests had problems with the keys, which was reluctantly attended to. All in all this could have been a wonderful hotel if they put some heart and soul in it. As it is, I will not stay there again.

Lovely boutique hotel in Santa Monica in need of an update

Boutique feel, kind staff, size of room, style of room, location and view.

Value for money poor including expensive parking, hotel in general feels in need of an update (carpets, lobby, furniture), no in-room coffee or tea making

Wondeful Hotel that has all you need

Handy Car Parking Facilities at a good price, handy having hot drinks available all day in the reception area, no kettle in room but one is available on request. Staff super friendly and helpful, every interaction with all the staff was good. They service the rooms every 3 days but happy to take rubbish and change towels or get the room cleaned more frequently if required. Nice sized room and comfy bed. Nice toiletries and a good sized gym. Really handy for a work trip and great fast WIFI

The only thing would be it’s right next to a Hospital so you do hear ambulances go by. my room was right at the front so might have been that but it didn’t disturb my sleep as I’m a deep sleeper but just something to take into consideration if you’re a light sleeper might want to ask for a room at the back of the hotel instead.

Cozy and Homey.

It’s a small scale hotel. staff were a few, but all exceptionally good. The lobby and living room were small, cozy and homey. the rooms were big enough for 2 and very clean overall. They offer a free Tesla ride with in 3 miles radius. they offer free coffee and teas in there living room.

parking was not for free but that’s expected in LA.

Great Hotel

This hotel has a very nice classy ambiance. The rooms are Comfy and clean. And the hang out spaces are pretty cozy. We loved our stay here it is conveniently located close to everything. Happy hour was a nice surprise when when we arrived serving local beer and wine. We also loved that the hotel has complimentary bikes that we used to cruise around. They also provide free electric car charging and they have a complimentary shuttle service to drop and pick you up within 3 miles of the property. I will also add the hotel is run by great staff. They are helpful and committed to making your stay great. We had a small issue with noise from our room and the immediately moved us. They also were helpful with recommendations for restaurants too. The staff at breakfast were attentive too. I would definitely recommend this hotel. And we will definitely be back.

Great location, comfortable rooms, would visit again

Great hotel, with on site parking just off route 66, so great for getting around, hotel also has a Tesla car which can drop you to local places free of charge. nice relaxing atmosphere,

LA council like to empty bins next to the hotel at 7am, so always wakes you up as windows aren’t to sound proof

Disappointing, pictures are misleading & it is grossly over priced

Clean and a relatively convenient location

Breakfast was limited and when served, it was cold. After that first breakfast, we went elsewhere for the remainder. Parking fee was way over the top for residence and there was no alternative since it was only parking meters nearby. There was no proper restaurant or bar to talk of. Just a somewhat odd place that I struggle to call a ‘Hotel’ in the traditional and expected sense. With the comments herein in mind, it was ridiculously over priced

Relaxing hotel in beautiful Santa Monica

The hotel feels like a great independent style hotel, the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The room was fresh and clean with plenty of soaps in the bathroom and the minibar was decently priced. The complimentary local beer and wine between 6 and 8pm was a lovely touch as well. The gym was good too with extra water and towels as you needed. And the town car was really helpful for a quick trip into the town centre.

For a family we could have done with more storage space in the room. There could have been more food options available, i.e. fresh/light food available 24hrs a day, would have been really useful to us.

Pleasant hotel but not a fan of the 'green policy'

Comfortable room, good location, good recommendation for food locally, good car parking. The food we ordered was beautifully presented.

We were told on arrival that the hotel runs a 'green policy' so towels and bedding are not changed for 3 days. It is disappointing to retain wet towels in a bathroom without a towel rail to dry them.The bathroom was not as modern as shown in the photographs. I also suspect that the slight odour in the corridors is due to a lack of bedding changes.

Wonderful Stay at Ambrose Hotel.

Cleanliness, staff and room were all good. Very good location.

Food was below expectations. Waffles were good one day but were really dry the next. Food was Inconsistent.
