Front desk couldn't locate my reservation during check-in

I appreciated the hotel's close proximity to the beach, where they had tables and chairs set up in the sand. The room met my expectations, being nice and clean, with a very comfortable bed. The staff was pleasant and accommodating.

Despite having paid in full before my arrival, the front desk couldn't locate my reservation during check-in, leading to a delayed process. I suggest calling the hotel to verify your reservation even after receiving confirmation from Booking.com, as the hotel's messages may be automated. Fortunately, the staff handled the situation with professionalism and resolved it.

Escape to Shutters’ Paradise

Location, On-site restaurant, luxe & comfy room, though our stay coincided with 1st day of Hotel-Worker strike at hotel up the block for 3 hours starting at 6 am, so loudly that it sounded like they were outside beneath our balcony. The property isn’t even a union property so that was unexpected. Also enjoyed dinner at the on-site restaurant & lunch the following day outside on the patio with 2 different ambiances-both were thoroughly enjoyable, the service was attentive and nice and we really enjoyed the food.

disappointed at the lack of transparency

mattress very uncomfortable and for what I paid … spend some money on good sleep the resort fee wasn’t explained at check in and that’s starting to irk me about hotels apparently it’s in the fine print in the bookings confirmation - like we all read this stuff - should be bold like the taxes and the cancelation - I think it’s a rip off scheme and hold no value to me hotel is overpriced at all levels

I had high expectations and was really let down.

great restaurant and location right on the beach

for the price, I’ve had better stays at a Marriott. The bathroom sink didn’t drain properly. they use one ply right toilet paper (unacceptable for price of stay). The showers are tiny, and the sheets were pretty tight for a Hotel of this caliber. our room was on the street, and was VERY loud at night. we could hear bums yelling at night. also, one night we got home around midnight and when we drove up to valet, there were 5 valet guys at the counter, but not one saw us. The headlights were on, do not sure how they missed us. When we walked up to their station, one guy apologized, but that too is unacceptable. we stayed at the Waldorf in chicago a couple weekends ago, and for half the price, the service was impeccable.

Luxury hotel on the Coast of Pacific

Location at the beach close to the Pear and Santa Monica Downtown. Beautiful architecture, view from rooms, great service and very good food - grilled Halibut at Coast was phenomenal. Large and nice lobby with complimentary morning coffee and tea, nice quiet pool on the 3rd floor with a great view, good service and the bar. very relaxing.

Fantastic location, rooms and most importantly staff

Room, location, the lovely main lounge

Only thing to highlight is as a resident no priority given when I and a guest went for brunch at the weekend. To be fair I didn’t try to book but when arrived was told that if free bar stools we could eat at the bar. Not shutters’ fault but a very aggressive man at the bar was protecting certain seats and was quite rude. However the staff were lovely and made the experience amazing.
