Location was good, close to the centre

The whole property smelled very bad of smoke. The bed linens were clean but the whole bed and room smelled as well - I had to wash my pyjamas afterwards as the smelled of smoke as well. Mattress was uncomfortable and filthy. Poor soundproofing - I could hear the host talking on the phone in the middle of the night. Overall very bad experience and definitely not worth the money we paid. Would not recommend.

Great location John was friendly and knowledgeable. You can walk from the house into Derry,. I did a walking tour of Derry. I enjoyed coming back to the house , going to the kitchen having a cuppa, then back out again for a bit of shopping.

The owner John is a nice guy and the accomodation is well located.

Terrible smell inside the house. My clothes still smell smoke or i don't know what. I've been to many countries and it's one of the worst accomodation i've seen so far. There was a lot of noise in the middle of the night.

Great location, very friendly and helpful host. The stay was great and I had a wonderful time. The room was a good size and comfortable. Good hot water in the shower.

The location is excellent. No need for taxis so worth the money from this alone. The host was accommodating re arrival times and a very nice man, clear instructions given re where to park (free).

John was friendly and very accommodating, communicating with us in advance to help us with our arrangements as we were going to a wedding the day we arrived. John showed us round when we arrived and explained all the house rules so that was nice.

The whole house does smell like cigarettes which is off-putting for people like myself who don't smoke, even the sheets in the bedroom we slept in had a slight smell (but they were clean). The bathroom wasn't particularly clean and felt a bit grim to be honest. However, we booked a budget place and that's what we got so I can't blame John for that - I probably shouldn't have booked the cheapest b&b available if I wanted a nicer stay. Personally I wouldn't book again as I'd rather have a more comfortable stay and spend a bit more, but if you are just after a bed and a cheap stay with a friendly host in a decent location then Monty Towers is a good option for you.

John, the proprietor, explained everything clearly on my arrival. The room was warm and clean and tea and coffee was available in the downstairs lounge.

The property was a little difficult to find and there were only fast food outlets in the immediate area.

John was friendly and welcoming. It was like crashing at the friend of a friend's. There was a power bar on the nightstand, so it was easy to charge devices and the Wi-Fi password was easy to remember.

The kitchen was only as clean as my own! There was only instant coffee, no facilities to make real coffee.
