This beautiful home was the perfect place for our women’s hiking trip! It was spacious, immaculate, and well stocked with everything we needed. The pictures on the website were an accurate representation of the home. The owners were very responsive and wonderful to work with. This place is a true gem!

We had a wonderful time a this beautiful house! The beach was a big hit with the group! Everyone enjoyed the coffee bar area and the entertainment room ! The house is very well set up with many lovely areas for people to gather.

Overall, we had a tremendous stay, and we rate the property a “10”. There were 6 of us on a family vacation. The house really fit our needs.
• Everyone had their own sleeping area / private space which was nice.
• The kitchen setup is amazing, everything you could think of is here.
• The gas grill worked great to cook up a feast for 6 hungry people!
• The beach / firepit area is very nice and we had a fire every evening. You can get wood very easily from local vendors.
• Plenty of yard games were available as well as fun games we could play at the game table inside.
• The media room was loved by everyone. Great for movie and sports watching.
• Laundry facilities were nice to have, it saved us from having to pack so many clothes.
• Garbage with recycling was easy and plenty of parking is available.
• Everything inside the house is well marked so you know where to find things and how to work the various light switches, fireplace, TV’s, etc.
• The views of the lake from our living room seats were spectacular, great to wake up to this every morning!
Easy drive into Washburn, loved the local restaurants, candy shoppe, and watering holes
Finally, we must thank Keith & Karen for being wonderful hosts. They were easily accessible with any were very kind to provide us some tips in advance of our trip so we could book a few things before we arrived. We had a slight snafu with VRBO making the final payment (was a VRBO issue) but we just laughed together

13 Father/Son's stayed at the Chalet from June 19th thru June 23rd. We fished out of Bayfield for Lake Trout for 2 mornings and kayaked at the Chalet. We had bon fires on the private beach and loved the Chalet. Highly recommend staying at this very large vacation home. No problem for 13 people.

Beautiful property. Fire pit on shore for all to gather around. The house has great gathering spaces, but everyone could have privacy if needed.

The house has large spaces for a big group. Interior is beautiful. Kids played a lot on the beach and backyard. Adults were relaxed inside well.

We loved spending time at Bay View Chalet. Perfectly peaceful & relaxing. Gorgeous sunrises. Karen & Keith are the best hosts. They thought of every amenity! Beautifully decorated. We visited the local establishments in Washburn. Bayfield just a short trip away for a little shopping and ferry ride to Madeline Island. We had a fabulous time’

Our weekend was supposed to be a family snowmobile trip but mother nature didn't help. We decided to go anyway. There are many wonderful places to hike and explore. The home was very clean and our host was very attentive to make sure we arrived ok and our stay was good.
Would definitely recommend!

Big, beautiful, and relaxing. We've stayed here several times and will definitely return. Great for a large group, plenty of space / beds. Kitchen has everything you'll need to cook a meal for a large group. Highly recommend

Bay View Chalet was a wonderful home base to explore the Bayfield area. The home is comfortable, has amazing views and a great kitchen. The kids and adults didn’t want to leave.

Great location and great space! Plenty of room for our group of 6 women (with lots to spare!). We loved the beach, the sunrise, the lake-just all of it. We spent the day in Bayfield but loved spending time at the house too

This was our family’s second time staying at the Chalet and it was another wonderful week. The house and property are stunning … more beautiful than the photos even. This is a luxury lake home in truly serene and private surroundings, and still easily accessible to local grocery stores, shops, restaurants and ferries. The entire family had a lovely time boating (we brought our own kayaks and paddle board), swimming, hanging out by the bonfire and cooking together. We also took advantage of the spacious property to conduct our annual Family Olympics! The hosts are very responsive and do a nice job of communicating if questions or needs arise. I would definitely return again, and for years to come!!

Our stay was amazing. The house was beautiful and the location was fabulous.
The house had everything you could need for a vacation! Even had yard games for kids and adults. The beach was very nice, and the water is shallow out a long ways from the beach. The kids loved swimming! The house itself was absolutely gorgeous! Plenty of rooms and beds for our whole family. The views were phenomenal from every room in the house.
We did find a few things from previous guests, just laying out in plain sight. So that was a bit concerning at first. Everything seemed very clean, other than that though. We did let Karen know about the cleaning issue. She was so very nice about it.
We would most definitely stay here again! Thank you Karen, for a wonderful vacation!

This chalet was Amazing! We had 13 total and there was plenty of room for everyone! Of course Lake Superior was a beautiful back drop for the property!

Wonderful home with plenty of space for everyone and very cool floor plan/stairs, etc.. Owners have labels on light switches (great help as there are a lot, big place - that is a good thing). Awesome view of the lake/bay. Directions indicate a few items to bring (i.e. toilet paper, paper towel) but there were some of each there (and we brought some - left some).
Unique features - geothermal/well water cooling for HVAC to maintain interior temps. Even with the wall of glass (solar heating), it would start to warm up but then the system cooled the house down. Very comfortable (3rd floor loft area gets a little warm with the solar heating).
Owners provide outdoor activity/yard games in the front closet. Board games in the den.
Great deck chairs for out on the patio.
Bath and hand towels are provided, but limited quantity - so make sure to hang dry/re-use, wash them in the washer/dryer, or bring a few of your own if you use a lot of towels.
Owners were great with communications.
Long, shallow, clean sand goes way out. Great if swimming or if you bring kayaks (you are not in real deep water when out a hundred feet from shore). Can go either direction to see interesting things; north is a flatter shoreline, can get to a campground park, south shore has some small cliffs and rock formations. You have to bring your kayaks but that was a great activity.
Had a great time with the family. Definitely recommend.

Here are our favorite things about this home: 1) it’s as beautiful in real life as it is in photos 2) you communicate with the owners, not property managers 3) the kitchen is well-stocked for cooking 4) it’s conveniently located between Ashland and Bayfield 5) you feel like you have your own private piece of Lake Superior all to yourself 6) TONS of games 7) extra fridge for storage 8) the view out the windows can’t be beat 9) it feels cozy and comfortable.

Family trip
My entire immediate family stayed here and had a fantastic weekend. It’s well located to enjoy all the area has to offer and if you want to just relax you really don’t have to go anywhere. The stunning views and endless activities will keep you busy at the house and in the sand.

Better than described - a truly wonderful home.
Communication with owners was super prompt, courteous and clear.
Amenities for stay were outstanding, from the coffee bar, to the kitchen, the outdoor seating, yard games, beach, on and on.
House offers stunning views, plenty of space including for parking and shooting hoops.
Indoors there is plenty of room and places to escape and relax if needed.
Everything is well labeled and explained.
My family has been blessed to stay at some amazing houses and this one was the overall best. Almost to the point I don’t want to share how great it is in case we want to come back!

Self Contained Habitat
We chose this location as we had 6 grandkids under the age of 5 and wanted to spend most of the time at the property especially near the water so we weren’t constantly getting in and out of the car. It worked great as there was a nice lawn for games and playing with a nice beach available whenever any of the kids (or adults during nap time) wanted it. With town 10 minutes away we could always run to get whatever was needed during the stay. The golfers in the group got out a couple times and shoppers went to Bayfield for fun. We will definitely look to come back again

AI trip with family friends
Our stay at this house was just perfect! We have two toddlers, and we stayed here with friends (9 of us total. First off, the amazing backyard view of the lake just hits you when you walk in the door. The house is beautiful, perfectly laid out, and the kitchen and bathrooms were well-stocked. The private beach access was awesome. We brought our stand-up paddleboards, and luckily conditions were good pretty much everyday, and we went out for morning paddles. There were even a few little sea caves and rock formations to explore less than a mile away on the water!
My only comment is that the master suite on the first floor doesn’t have curtains on the sliding door so be aware for privacy when people are out back. We were also woken up early every morning because of the sunlight coming in, but honestly I can’t complain cause who doesn’t like waking up to that view.
The kids enjoyed the little kids “cave” in the upstairs bedroom. We mostly stayed away from the sitting room on the top floor. It was dizzying looking over the railing. Baby gates were provided to keep the little ones from going up there.
Karen was very welcoming and responsive. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Our hosts were so great and made it easy to have a great stay. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable experience right on the water. Fabulous Cabin on Lake Superior
What a gem on Lake Superior! It was our first time traveling to the Bayfield area. We came with two other families for MEA weekend. This spot was beyond perfect for us. The sun rises were incredible and a wonderful start to our days of hiking and exploring. We mostly ate out, but the night we did cook, the house had every utensil and pot and pan that you could need. The beds were incredibly soft. We loved that each bedroom had it's own bathroom for privacy. Three tables to play games. The kids loved the basketball hoop and tetherball. I wish so badly we could have stayed long, but we will definitely be back. I would (and already have) recommend this to any families traveling to the area. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful slice of heaven.

Didn’t want to leave!
The house is so beautiful and Lake Superior is a hop, skip, jump out the front door! The owners are fantastic to work with and helpful. The swimming beach was great and we enjoyed the sandy, shallow lake bottom and went swimming even though it was October! Well-stocked house that was big, yet cozy and comfy at the same time. We requested a reservation for our next trip before we even got home from this one!
