Perfect and beautiful home. Everything you could need. The pictures do not do it justice. Great location perfect for our family.

This was a beautiful property in the perfect location! It was spotless and very thoughtfully equipped. For instance bathrobes- very useful when using the hotpot! Beautiful views out of every window. Especially loved seeing the horses every morning. Well equipped kitchen. The grill was super useful. We enjoyed touring and hiking all day and coming “home” to such a relaxing house. Highly recommend!

CLEANLINESS: As other Vrbo users have commented the home is very clean, even the cutlery and dishes were very clean (some other places you can see they were not properly cleaned). The beds and sofa were not dusty (my daughter gets rash easily and she did not during our stay) AMENITIES: The house has everything we needed, a well appropriated kitchen, a washing machine, comfortable furniture/beds, functioning wifi and a hot tub LOCATION: Very convenient as a base for South Iceland. The home is in a quiet location (you do not hear any traffic noise) 5mins away from Selfoss, which has a large Kronan (our preferred grocery store) and smaller Bonus supermarket. It allowed us to conveniently do day trips to the major attractions like Vik, Geysir, Gulfoss, Vestmannaeyjar and Reykjavík SAFETY: We felt very safe in the house OWNER: Sven was responsive

This home was modern yet comfortable and homey! It was sparkling clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was perfect for daily exploring of Southern Iceland and I would come back and rent this house again in a heart beat. Communication with the host was easy and they responded in a timely manner! Overall we give this house and experience a 10/10!

Great place ..

This house was perfect for exploring southern Iceland. It is more spacious than we expected, well equipped, and the heated floors made it so cozy! We also enjoyed our nightly soak in the hut tub. The owners were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended!

Excellent - helpful owners, dealt with queries and inefficient shower quickly

An initial slight miscommunication upon arrival, however all was taken care of and owner of the house was very accommodating. House was cozy and perfect location for all southern Iceland activities. We had a great view of the Northern Lights from the hot tub and horses greeted us every morning.

Fantastically clean and well equipped property in a great location. Convenient for all the southern sights and local town amenities whilst still offering the feeling of isolation. Hot tub was amazing to admire the glorious Northern Lights from.

The photos don't do the property justice, it was stunning. Very comfortable and well stocked for travellers. The owners were very friendly and made themselves available if we needed anything. Highly recommended!

We stayed with our two teenagers and it was wonderful. The house is beautiful, clean, and well appointed. The views are amazing and the owners are helpful and kind. It was a great location and exactly what we needed. We loved the hot tub but learned the hard way that you have to allow several hours for it to fill, but it was so worth it. Thank you for a fabulous end to our vacation!

Love this house. Very clean and nicely organized. I have been to many vacation rentals, This is one of the cleanest place I have ever been to. The owner is extremely nice. We went grocery shopping in bonus nearby and cooked meal. Everything is available for cooking. Kids enjoyed the hot tub. Only suggestion I have is to have some more window covering for the living room and may be darker/ longer curtains for bedroom. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful new place!

We enjoyed our stay at Stekkholt 3. It was very clean, and centrally located to explore Iceland. The horses were friendly and always greeted us every time we departed or arrived. The management/ owners were very friendly, and made sure our stay was enjoyable. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in this beautiful home! We highly recommend this place to others!

We loved staying in this adorable home for our second half of our Iceland trip. After a few days in the city, it was so relaxing to be further out from town. The views were stunning and we loved seeing the horses everyday. The location was ideal for our day trips to various spots around the south and west. While staying here, we visited the golden circle sights a couple times, drove down to Vik and also went to the blue lagoon and lava tunnel and all were enjoyable trips from this spot. The house is perfectly clean and has everything you could need! We enjoyed the large kitchen, cozy beds, updated amenities and loved the extra games/puzzles available for some snowy days. Selfoss is close for groceries and gas and restaurants yet far enough away that the skies are perfectly clear for Northern lights. The owners are very accommodating - allowing us early check in and late departure which is huge when you are traveling with littles. We highly recommend staying here and hope to be back!

Clean comfortable and modern cottage with a huge beautiful kitchen that was fun for cooking. Situated ideally between all the places we wanted to visit, including the Golden Circle and the Blue Lagoon. Close enough to the town of Selfoss for shopping and restaurants, but far enough out to feel secluded for hot tubbing under the stars. Three ponies in the yard greeted us each morning as we headed out on our excursions. I would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend this property.

We loved our stay at Sven’s home in Selfoss. It was a good distance centrally located to Reykjavík, the Golden Circle and south coast sites. Loved feeling isolated, but close to town. Because it was more removed from the city lights we were able to see the northern lights two of the nights we were in Iceland. The house was comfortable and very clean. Very new and well furnished. Would definitely recommend staying here!

This is a great property and we enjoyed our stay in September 2018. The location and condition of the house was perfect and we could see the Northern lights from every room. I would love to stay here again on our next trip to Iceland..

Perfectly positioned midway between the Golden Circle and Reykjavik. A lovely cottage and an ideal size for a family of 4. I would not hesitate to recommend, and indeed already have done!

Myself and 5 friends just left this create home in Selfoss and we couldn’t be happier! This quaint spot was perfect for our needs and a great place to come back to after a long day of hiking/sightseeing! The hot tub was super relaxing and the big bathroom worked for 5 girls. The house is well equipped with cooking utensils and close to Bonus if you want to cook! Great value, can’t wair to come stay again!

The cottage is lovely, very open, and a nice kitchen. There were 4 of us on a girls trip and it was a great location for our first few days before we moved on to the next location in Iceland.

The house is very comfortable with excellent facilities the kitchen laundry and living areas are all first rate. The underfloor heating keeps the building toasty warm. Fantastic views we watched the northern lights from the comfort of the living room. It gives the impression of being isolated but you are minutes from selfoss with good access to the south coast attractions gulfoss a the geysers. I can’t recommend this home enough.

Everything you need for a short or long stay, and incredibly gracious hosts willing to help with anything. A perfect home base for our honeymoon!

My husband and I took our two adult kids to Iceland and we spent the first few nights at this home right outside Selfoss. It was fantastic! The house is very nicely maintained and very comfortable for the four of us to relax at the end of a long day of hiking and exploring. The bonus was the horses! So sweet! Came up and surrounded us with their inquisitive nudges and sweet stares and loved being pet and scratched! This was the perfect place to stay and get away from it all and really enjoy the peace. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need and food basics too, so if you forget something at the store you might find it in the cupboard. The living room with its comfy chairs and couch was the best place to get off our feet. The bedrooms are basic but comfortable. Every window has a great view! And there are many guide books to Iceland if you're looking for something to do. The only disappointment was that the hot tub was empty... but not sure we had time to use it anyway. We will definitely return when we go back to Iceland to do a few more of the things we didn't get a chance to do on this trip!
