Loved the traditional cozy feel of the accomodation as it still felt modern but traditional. It was super clean, location was good depending on what you’re after (I.e quiet beautiful streets of Kyoto rather than busy chaos).

Nothing to fault other than the upstairs aircon occasionally leaked an awful smell (unsure whether it was aircon but the smell came from inside not outside and it smelt like a mix of sewer and gas). Also a minor inconvenience was that we had to check in at an office 30-40mins away from the actual house and the accommodation doesn’t provide baggage delivery at check out.

집이 사진으로 보던 거랑 똑같음. 욕조에서 보이는 작은 정원이 너무 좋아서 매일 족욕이나 반신욕을 했음. 무엇보다 숙소 위치가 좋아서 관광지 가기도 좋고, 동네 산책만 해도 정말 힐링되었음.

일본이라서 이미 알고 있었지만, 다이닝룸을 제외하고는 바닥난방이 안 돼서 잘 때 추웠음. 방석핫팩을 깔고 잤음. 4박 이상이면 1회 간단한 청소를 해준다고 해서 그에 맞게 수건을 다 썼는데, 청소가 오지 않음. 저녁이라 사무실은 이미 직원이 없었고, 다음날 체크아웃이라 사용한 수건 다시 말려서 썼음. 짜증났지만, 숙소에서 바로 사과하였고, 페이팔을 통해서 청소비를 환불해줘서 풀렸음.

The property was well equipped with all we need as a group, and the check in and out process was very easy and seamless 😄

Old style traditional Japanese house beautifully renovated with some modern touches, like the modern bathroom with sunken bath looking into a lovely small Japanese-garden.

An authentic, cozy machiya house with a garden to sit leisurely soaking up the sun while drinking tea or having a conversation. The location is walkable to attractions, shops, restaurants, etc.

this property was absolutely stunning and exceeded all my expectations. gorgeous bath comfortable beds cute little sun room overlooking the garden made the stay extra relaxing also great location in Gion district near the river lots of great restaurants around.

Traditional Japanese Stay

The location was perfect, and allowed us to get up early and see the cherry blossoms in Gion before the crowds arrived. It was also convenient to metro and bus routes.

If you sleep in the front room nearest the street, the noise is quite loud. Also, the light switch for the downstairs bathroom was placed at an odd location and hard to reach due to the swing of the door. But those are minor things.
