We just enjoyed a few wonderful days at Lamont’s place. The Hamilton Cove area was beautiful and the included golf cart made getting around the island super easy. The unit was very newly renovated and was gorgeous. The blue kitchen cabinets with the brass/gold accents made it look fresh out of an HGTV remodel. The space was great. Awesome and functional kitchen and I was pleased to learn the freezer made ice. We didn’t use the oven but the microwave was super handy for reheating leftovers, and having the dishwasher was perfect. There are new pots and pans, dishes, silverware and cooking items. The toaster was handy for making bagels and frozen waffles and we enjoyed the coffee maker. Hamilton Cove is beautiful but there aren’t any little pastry shops to walk to get a croissant and a coffee. The couches in the living room were comfy and could accommodate all four of us (two adults, an 11 year old and a 10 year old) without a problem. The pull out sofa bed was completely acceptable for kids to sleep, but I would’ve opted for sleeping on the couch cushions because it was quite roomy. Bedrooms were awesome. Queen bed in the guest room with nightstands that had plenty of drawer space for kid clothes. Master included a TV and king bed and another good chest of drawers. There was also a cute little balcony off the master. The closets in both bedrooms were expansive! There was plenty of extra clean bedding and pillows, which we appreciated. We loved the dual sinks in both the guest and primary bathrooms. My kids now want their own sinks at home (not happening). And my oldest posted a TikTok about how awesome the place is and said “not to flex” but it was totally a flex because the place is amazing. Being the first guests in the unit post-renovation, I worried that we bothered Lamont about silly things but he was completely amazing and attentive. My primary concern was lack of blow dryer and I had one in my hand within an hour. I read all of the prior reviews before we left for our trip. I brought extra towels (per a suggestion from a former guest) and we didn’t use them once. Plenty of towels. The toilets were replaced the week we arrived so they were wonderful! No concerns with flushing at all.

Both toilets did not flush, TVs did not work, Golf cart brakes failing, poorly equipped kitchen, several light bulbs burned out, very poorly decorated, ants, not very clean. I could go on and on.. I expected a lot more for what I paid.—What a ripoff. When I emailed Aaron Reeves and told him about the toilets and other problems he never responded! Rude and very unprofessional. I would never go back to this hole!! Claire

I read lots of reviews mentioning ants. I figured this issue would be resolved by now. Wrong. There are ants in the kitchen and master bedroom. I wouldn’t call this place clean. The kitchen came with half a roll of one ply paper towels. No extras. Also a used sponge and barely any dish soap. I would not have expected that. Pretty gross. Good thing I brought my own sponge. Also make sure you bring toiletries. There was no shampoo, no shower gel. Just a tiny leftover hotel size lotion and conditioner in the bathroom. Also the bathrooms had used toilet paper rolls. This was surprising. Also nowhere near enough towels.Memorable in a bad way. Golf cart is awesome. The brakes are bad though and need to be repaired. We had a great time. Hamilton Cove is nice. Catalina is awesome. For the amount of money we paid for this place there are a few small upgrades that would have made a big difference. It would have been nice to have been left a welcome note with a few bottles of water, extra towels etc. little things make a big impression.

Terrible….ants, toilet didn’t work and golf cart had no breaks

The ants will get anything you leave out. Bring or buy your own TP. The one ply is like sandpaper. The location and size were perfect. The golf cart made the trip because we were free to travel all we wanted. The cart was about due for service since it was the end of summer. The contact number on VRBO was wrong. Luckily I got an email from someone else. The gas station is open 24-7 if you use a card. Took .4 gallons after driving quite a bit. Overall was great and the kids had fun.

The place is your typical rental.. not updated which is fine. But we had ants the entire time and the toilet by guest room doesn’t work since day one. I think with updates and ant control the place would be great:)

Nice stay once again in Hamilton Cove. This was an "OK" unit for us; one of us needed no-stairs access which this unit provides. Too bad there's no ocean view. The unit was not very clean; dishes were put away dirty. One shower valve broke on last day but these things do happen. It's strange that it's rated for 6 people but there are only 4 chairs at the table.

Hamilton cove is beautiful, I highly encourage everyone to stay there. However, if you’re looking for the fun/beautiful Catalina vibe, this place is not it. There are so many other beautiful options in the area, I encourage you to do your research. This was an unfortunate mistake of a booking for us due to how busy this summer has been over there, and lack of inventory. The first night was fine, we honestly weren’t in the unit much this weekend, especially given that our friends unit down the road was beyond more comfortable to hang out at and had beautiful view. Pros: spacious, big kitchen, golf cart was great. That is about it Cons: no ocean view, dark, outdated, tried to make beds comfortable by placing extremely squishy padding on them, and it killed our backs, smelled like cigarettes (whoever cleans doesn’t empty the ash trey on the balcony and it resonates throughout the apartment), and last bit certainly not least, Ants. On the floors, and worst of all, in our bed. Thankfully this was only the second and last night of our stay, but it was unacceptable and skeevy. Other big con, whoever the property management is here needs a serious revamp, and some training on professionalism while communicating with people who paid to stay in your unit. If and when this happens to you, be sure to send photos immediately, even if it is at 10:30 at night, or else you too just paid hundreds a night to have a snuggle with bugs. Sum of the story, if you have standards and want a fun vacation rental, I would suggest looking elsewhere, even if it means staying downtown and renting a golf cart. Thankfully we had a lovely weekend, this place did not play into a single ounce of that though.

The property is very run down. Needs painting. There were no pool or beach towels provided. It didn’t feel very clean. We are being charged for a stain on the comforter that we did not make. We were never in the condo except to sleep. Didn’t bring any food or drink in Except water. Very disappointing

I brought my daughter and her two friends here for a birthday surprise and it was perfect! The golf cart really added to experience and we were able to get around easily. The room was perfect! The only thing I would recommend is that you bring water shoes. The beach within Hamilton Cove is really rocky and everyone had more fun once we bought some water shoes.

We had a blast staying here. Although the pool was closed due to COVID, we had plenty of things to still do and the Golf Cart was a treat! maintenance was easy to get a hold of and came right away (we got the sink plug stuck! Ooops). We hope to stay here in the future for sure!!!

Hire for 6 people: one double bed without mattress, after 3 complaints they brought a new bed at 10.00 p.m.; completely covered sinks, 3 burned bedroom lamps and one was no installed, Master's TV not working, very bad maintenance. Table for 4 people with 4 chairs.

Loved the condo and it’s charm. Also loved how close to the Ocean, beach and dock the unit is. I would definitely book this again!

Loved Hamilton Cove and the unit was very comfortable. I thought it had more of an ocean view and some beach chairs would have been great to take down to the Hamilton Cove Beach having the Golf Cart was awesome!

Very pleasingly surprised with unit spaciousness. Although advertised as no steps it is not handicap accessible. Thank you Lamont for a pleasurable holiday.

We had a wonderful time & the condo was just right for what we needed on this trip.

The unit is spacious and very well located and we had a great time. We loaded the dishwasher before we left as instructed but it did not work so we could not run it.

The condos at Hamilton Cove are quite nice. Beautiful views, beach access and great amenities. Unfortunately this condo was not quite what we expected. We arrived just after check in time to find the front door locked when it was supposed to be open for us. After a few minutes someone came to let us in. Once inside it looked great. Two beautiful bedrooms and a bright main room. But we soon realized the BBQ didn’t work (we had salmon to BBQ), dishwasher was broken (there was only one dish towel), there were only two bikes and both were unrideable. The other sports equipment was either broken or in poor shape. The pictures of the condo showed toiletries, but there were none. Just some liquid hand soap by the bathroom sinks. The master bath also had ants! Overall we had a wonderful time on Catalina Island, but unfortunately the condo was not what we were hoping for.

The place could use a little upgrading but we didn’t spend lots of time sitting around the condo so it worked for us. The owner and property manager were wonderful accommodating people. For the price and their accommodating our needs I would rent from them again.

Really enjoyed our stay

First of all, the condo was very nice. It was very clean. There are a couple of upgrades that should be taken care of - the doors on the cabinets did not shut easily, the master bedroom toilet ran all day and night and the dining room table/chairs are all very unstable. The golf cart that came with the condo needed attention 2 of the 5 days we were there. The biggest complaint I have is that there was construction going on in an adjacent unit. We paid a LOT of money for a place to relax and this just did not fit the bill. There was banging, drilling, hammering every day until 6:30, 7pm. Then when construction stopped, the gentlemen working on the unit talked loudly and used foul language for an hour or so longer. I did contact the owner and he did what he could but I guess you just can’t stop progress! I was very disappointed in this particular experience.

Maybe should update the keep on bikes. Golf cart may need a tune up. Otherwise will do again.

We had a great time. Condo was nice. Only downfall was how uncomfortable all the beds were. The sheets were scratchy too, and we had ants (no food). Overall place was nice, we had a great time!

Outdated. No air conditioning. Our family stayed across the hall and paid the same amount of money for a totally remodeled full ocean view. Advice: do research!

It's a beautiful condo !!! Location is beautiful. We had so much fun ! Golf cart was very helpful to go around, BBQ grill was a plus . I wish the condo has an ocean view. Few items we noticed : Toilet bowls were not flushing properly ( need new plumbing system ) old and rundown sofas , the bed I slept on was not comfortable . I was looking for AC the first day because it's hot during the day . No AC. Overall , it's a good experience for all of us . Thank you !

Landlord was great and Rosie let us use the golf cart to drop our luggage early. Very nice unit. The only problem was the inflatable bed has a slow leak and the sofa bed is all springs... but the bedroom beds are fine a king and a queen.

Could use a few minor updates and repairs but overall great place to stay! Very clean, safe, comfortable matresses, spacious. The condo community is really wonderful. Hamilton Cove is a great place to stay!

We were so uncomfortable and displeased that we left early and cut our vacation short after staying just one night. And I mean staying (not sleeping - because we could not rest since the beds were so old feeling/painfully hard/springy). Even though we were there for our son's second birthday, and we had other family with us in another unit, we couldn't enjoy ourselves with the sub par conditions. The pillows were also old feeling/poor quality and uncomfortable. The unit has no AC and no breeze from the ocean the way it is situated. What little air can come in, was not enough to cool it, and there were loud guests causing ruckus outside all night long. There are no safety/security latches on the tops of the doors and balcony access doors. The owner knew we were traveling with toddlers, and failed to mention this. we had to jimmy safety barricades on 4 separate doors. The unit is dated and run down (grimy soiled and worn out rug, weathered sofas, walls in need of paint, rusty balcony furniture, etc). It didn’t look nice, and felt very icky. We wrote to the owner Lamont to discuss and remedy, but he was unprofessional, rude and dismissive. He only commented on one aspect noting how other guests thought his couches were comfortable (when that issue was not even our complaint...we said they are dingy and gross). We made the mistake of not reading the poor rating reviews before booking. We have however confirmed after the fact, that other people had the same lousy experience with this yucky unit and the careless owner. Beware!

Crowds were down, but picked up Sat bas we left. So that was nice. plenty of activities. The conservancy jeep trip was fun. We saw b son, eagles and other birds, and foxes. / The apartment was nice, but a terrible fold out couch. So we used the cushions. If there were only 4 of you, it couldn't be better. The golf cart could use some seat belts. The pool, sauna, hot tub and fitness room were all good. As was the playground and picnic area, The chinese restaurant was closed Wed and Thursday. 2 days! unheard of. In my experience they never have a closed days. This is kind of worldwide.
