the comfort I felt about the lodge

i was looking forward to using the hot tub and relaxing for the weekend. hot tub and pool were down and wasn’t informed until we arrived. The website promotes the hot tub and pool

Gorgeous area

No one ever at the front desk, pool advertised but not working, hot tub was, but pool area dirty and cold.

There was a hot tub so that was nice. There were also board games, pool tables, a lower level bar.

The pool was closed, the bar only served beer, the woman was rude when we arrived. Almost like we were inconveniencing her and questioned that we had 4 people when that is what the reservation was for. Not great customer service.

Bar was no food or mix drinks and closed sat night,pool not working. Staff was very friendly and explained some issues of the place and the amenities but price was high compared to other locations.

Beautiful location, very cool older resort Owners are friendly & very accommodating Things are a lot dated but I heard owners talking about some major updates in the future

As I mentioned I believe some of the pictures are very dated but some big changes are coming

Lodge run by charming family. Beautiful property. Enjoyed being able to sit outside.

Room was right off the lobby / gathering area so it was loud. Room was very small & bathroom needed updating.

This place is somewhat remote. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite and it is outdated and needs attention. Rooms were hot. This place must be geared for winter visitors.

the place needs updated bed comforters and blankets. Also, the room where I stayed had an old carpet and a smoke smell that was very noticeable when the AC was not running.

Staff was non existent, kind of a weird vibe. Owners seem very nice and accommodating, however again kind of a weird vibe

What a pleasant surprise for a lodge in a remote area. The owners are dedicated to making your stay a very good one. A rare storm took out the power for 18 hours and the owners were very helpful making the unusual event have minimal impact on the guests. Highly recommend staying here. We had 5 families stay.

Black River Lodge is an amazing family owned resort! Feels like you are right at home! The pool & hot tub was well maintained and a great way to end the night after riding all day. Highly recommend & we will be returning.
