Great location. Super clean and well maintained. Very well stocked - had anything and everything we could have needed. Perfect for our family of 4!

My family of 4 enjoyed 5 nights of rest and relaxation at this beautiful home. It is even better in person than in the pictures. We had a bit of a weather-related snafu and Dave called us before we even realized the issue, and was communicative throughout. We were so grateful for that. We'd definitely recommend this home to anyone who wants to get away from it all, while also having easy access to so many great North Shore spots.

A beautiful A Frame, clean, well supplied rental with a splendid overlook of Lake Superior. Local eateries are limited. We recommend it.

Excellent property in a beautiful location! Property has a wonderful view of Lake Superior. It was well stocked with everything we needed. Our host Dave responded quickly to all of our questions, made sure we had everything we needed and provided great information about the area.

We hike sections of the Superior Hiking Trail, and always have a puzzle going.

I think this property is no longer on VRBO. It has a great view. Rate was a little misleading because any more than 2 guests had a per guest charge, which was strange for a 3 BR / 2 BA property. All good but more than I would usually spend, just needed a place available for Grandma's.

We had a wonderful stay. The place was a perfect landing spot for our family. We enjoyed relaxing in between hikes and taking in the beautiful view of the lake!

The infloor heat was super comfortable even with -25 at night and day time highs around 0. Views of Lake Superior and the surrounding area are nothing short of amazing.

The cabin was as listed, beautiful view and warm and toasty. The kitchen had everything you would need, including an air dryer, toaster oven and Keurig. The beds were comfortable, heated floors were awesome. We were close to snowmobile trails. Two bedrooms downstairs and one up makes it nice for families. Thank you for a great getaway!

The stay was great and the property was well decorated.

This place is perfect for us: 3 bedrooms, large table for eating and doing puzzles, close to Superior Hiking Trail, close to good eating spots.

The property was very relaxing with beautiful views. We especially liked the campfire. We had campfires morning and evening enjoying the views of Lake superior. A blessing that we were there during peak colors. The property itself didn’t have spectacular colors but Lutsen Ion the gondola was spectacular.

The view was stunning; every day the lake looked different. We followed Dave's advice about places to eat & things to do, & had fun exploring the area. We ate in sometimes, spent lots of time drinking wine, talking, & relaxing. I have never felt so peaceful at any rental before. You will love it there!

The view was beautiful. We got there on Thursday. Found the house clean. The owner states 2 keys, however, only 1 per door. We also found that all the bamboo touches were up however all empty by the fire pit, the heaters on the 2 patios had empty propane cylinders we had to find and change. The upstairs patio also had a small fire bowl that had a small propane tank that was empty with no refills. On Sunday morning we found a mouse in the house. We removed it from the house.

Property was very clean, well-appointed and private. Convenient location on the North Shore for waterfall hikes and kayaking in nearby bays. Great view of Lake Superior.

This home looks just like the pictures on VRBO. We arrived and upon entering were thrilled to see how beautiful it really is. Everything was clean and you can tell the owner (Dave) takes pride in his home. We have booked many times through VRBO and this was far the best one we've stayed at. As others have stated the kitchen is definitely on the smaller side but was just fine for us. Each morning waking up, getting a cup of coffee, taking in the views and watching the ships from either of the decks was so amazing. We even enjoyed a few games of horseshoes outside when it cooled off. We went and visited Tettegouche State Park, Split Rock Lighthouse, Gooseberry Falls State Park, beaches, stores and ate at some local restaurants. We were thrilled to see a bear crossing the road when leaving the cabin one afternoon. Thank you Dave for sharing you amazing property!

Dave was easy to communicate with regarding our stay! Everything for the property was set up prior to the stay and he was very helpful at giving his favorite site to go see in the area :)

Dave was easy to work with and exceptionally responsive to emails/ messages. The A-frame is gorgeous; a true home away from home. It was wonderful coming "home" after a day of hiking and exploring state parks along the North Shore. We would come back again!

This a great, well-stocked property with a beautiful hill-side view of the lake from up high. The hammock and upstairs deck were favorites of our group! Although we didn't need it, there is ample space in the yard for running around with the kids. We loved that Black Sand beach is right across the road!

Rented for 3 people. Seemed like a lot of space. Kitchen was on the small side.

Great views and convenient to all the attractions! Very clean and well supplied! Owner was great to communicate. Outdoor fire pits and deck had beautiful views very private! We also rented the apartment and it was very nice! Overall great place, Would highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Loved the views, used the campfire to cook our dinner, sat on the 2nd floor deck, played provided board games, watched TV, felt clean, safe and private. Loved that it was basically zero entry if we wanted to come back with aging parents with everything they would need on the main floor . Felt like staying in someone's home. Enjoyed the solar lights in the Mason jars too.

Had a great time, the location was perfect literally 3 minute drive to black sand beach. Local groceries stores were nearby so that was super convenient. The view from the cabin was much more then I expected, so in a sense it was way better then the photos. I would highly recommend this cabin, the AC was great as well and the fire pit, differently bring some mosquito sprays. Overall, Great cabin and had a good time!

Our entire family enjoyed our stay at the Sanctuary on the North Shore. It was a great place to relax, and even though we could hear traffic from Rt 61 outside, inside the house, it was very quiet, and the place had a secluded feeling. The place is a great location to explore the shore, all the hiking trails in the area, and even a bit of the BWCA. Dave's suggestions for places to visit and restaurants in the area were greatly appreciated, since we had never been to the North Shore. He quickly responded to a question I had while we were there. It was much appreciated.
