This was a restful and wonderful getaway and this riverfront cottage was just the perfect place. Andy and Michael were the best and most responsive hosts and made sure we had everything we needed and checked in frequently to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We're looking forward going back again! 5 stars all the way!

Owners were super responsive prior to and during the visit. They take a lot of pride in the house. Lots of small extras like drinks in the fridge, snacks, toiletries, etc. the porch overlooking the river was so peaceful. They gave us great eating recommendations as well. I will absolutely rent from them again if we ever return.

My experience could not have been better from the moment I arrived and was given some wonderful suggestions in a very friendly manner to the morning I departed feeling rested and relaxed.

Norfolk has so much to offer. Great restaurants…Codex and Crudo Nudo top our list. The cottage was so peaceful and relaxing. The pictures don’t do it justice. The thoughtful touches of fresh cut flowers and all the little details made it an absolutely perfect stay. Norfolk Beach is 20 minutes away and delightful. Clean, plenty of parking and public bathrooms. I can’t say enough good things about this trip. We loved this property and look forward to our next visit. Incredibly comfortable cottage.

Very relaxing first leg of our road trip. Andy and Mike were amazing

First of all a shout out to Mike and Andy, two very nice people that sincerely care about their guests. Very helpful, fast responding host who will give you a personal tour and make sure everything meets your satisfaction. The cottage itself is very nice, super clean and comfortable. Nice furniture, really nice bed, very well stocked kitchen and a wonderful porch with comfy chairs and a great view of the river. The location is convenient to downtown Norfolk, you can walk to the Light rail which is a train like public transportation that will take you right downtown in about 15 minutes. Don't worry about Interstate 264 we never heard it from the inside of the cottage, very peaceful sleeping. You can hear cars from the deck in the daytime but its not a big deal. I cant say enough good things about this property and the hosts, it was just perfect for our needs, we hope to stay again then next time we visit our daughter in Norfolk!

King’s cottage was an excellent choice! Andy is a top notch host. I greatly appreciated all the little things. The cottage is serene; an excellent place for rest and restoration. Go with Andy’s recommendation for dinner at El Rodeo, but watch out for that Texas Margarita! We look forward to future visits.

No other words - BEST experience; quiet, cozy, private, and relaxing. The absolute perfect spot to get out of the craziness of life, but still be close enough to enjoy fancy restaurants for a night out. 10/10 recommend.

Great time at this tucked away cottage by the water. Close enough to downtown for lunch and dinner while having some privacy and seclusion when needed. Hosts were amazing and checkin was nice and easy. Plenty of amenities stocked up and quality linens. Overall great stay that we’d recommend for other couples looking for a few days of relaxation.

The sunroom detained us for a much needed rest before heading to the hosts' favorite restaurant for lunch-- and then the recliners reclaimed us once again. Day two was for our all-day visit to the Chrysler Museum. Caught the big new exhibit, excellent Grab-and-go lunch, and then submerged ourselves in the superb glass collection. Day three was warmer so we hiked through the short trails of the Back Bay Natl. Wildlife Refuge to see tundra swans, great blue heron signs of bobcats. A wonderful time in the beautiful King's Cottage thanks to our thoughtful hosts.

We had an amazing getaway! The cottage was so cute, quaint and perfect! The weather turned out cold and rainy some of the weekend but the sunroom on the back porch was PERFECT!! As mentioned in other reviews, it was about a 5 minute walk to the light rail station and we took it to the waterfront for dinner. It was perfect. The patio/deck was perfect to have dinner and wine when the weather warmed up. And Andy and Mike were the perfect hosts!!

This property is as wonderful as advertised. The water views are simply gorgeous! Hosts are prompt and courteous. We did not want to leave!

Although we had a major mishap with our vehicle when we arrived, the hosts were incredibly generous with support, including lending us their car to get around! Gratefully, we were staying in a beautiful cottage where we could relax in the sunroom, watching sunrises and sunsets, sit on the pier and even fish a bit. I wish we could have stayed longer. I'd give it 6 stars, if possible. We hope to return again this summer!

Lovely property, exceptional service and communication from property owners. Spotlessly clean. Loved morning coffee on the enclosed porch AND on the dock. Not 5 stars, but 25 star rating. Just what we needed!

very comfortable and just what we needed, struggled with the TV but that turned out to be great. really liked the location and will absolutely recommend it. only negative was our time there was too short.
