The staff was especially cordial and professional. The lobby was inviting and I felt that the atmosphere was warm. When I entered it made me feel like a place I wanted to return to.

I have stayed at Westin's before because my ex-wife was the former Administrator and event planner for the American Board of Urology, and never had a bad experience, which is why I chose the Westin at Virginia Beach and had no qualms with spending as much as I did for one night to go to a concert. However, it was easy to see that housekeeping does a subpar job. The mirrors in the bathroom were filthy, and there was hair in the bathtub, but that wasn't the worst part. The worst part was it was obvious that they do not change out the glassware in the bathrooms if it does not "appear" to have been used. When I picked up a glass to use it, I noticed a dried white crud near the base, that was not visible when it was on the cardboard platform. There was also a streak where it had slid down about 3/8 of an inch. Upon closer inspection, and being the inquisitive person I am I smelled it. It had a minty scent. A previous occupant's spit from brushing their teeth splattered on the glass and ran down it. I stayed in room 607 and discovered it in the morning just before checking out as I prepared to take my medication, so I just replaced it. Maybe a better housekeeper will do their job...or not.

The price keeps going up. One night stay was $350, and all I did was sleep. With nothing included, I'm finding it hard to justify the value anymore.
