This "home" is not a single home, it's part of someone's house and the owners live upstairs. VRBO description does not include "owner on premises". Needless to say, we were surprised. Location was good - great access to the beach and home is pet friendly. Not clean, pretty dated and there were 6 in our party, only 4 bathtowels for a 3 day stay. It's a down and dirty beach house - no frills. Will not be staying there again.

The location and access to the beach is the main attraction of this house. You can walk right down from the house. A littler farther from the downtown area, but can walk to it. Difficulty getting Ubers or cabs while here. The interior is a little older, offers plenty of space but the basement having half the beds is a downside. It does have a slight smell as described in other reviews. Porch is awesome to sit on. Easy walk down to the be beach. Be careful of walking bare foot in the grass, there are these little weeds that have spikes on them which hurt two members of our party.

We booked the trip for the extended family based on that main room to hang out in and look at the surf. It did not disappoint. The house is old and has a mix match of updated things and older. So the guts of the house aren't 5 stars but the location is! This is past the boardwalk so there is no one walking in front of the house. As a matter of fact it's far enough from the boardwalk that the stretch of beach in front of it has far less people than down the beach. The only negatives are 2/3 rooms. Having a bunk bed for a married couple isn't ideal. That basement room with a queen and thrown in twin beds isn't the best either. But they are all functionable. They have a wood fireplace but don't have any wood. A small bundle of wood would have been a nice touch. Back to the positives: Nice drip coffee maker. The wifi is good. We felt the kitchen was stocked well enough. Lots of seating at the tables for dinner. We would definitely consider booking again. The only thing that would make us think twice are those odd sleeping arrangements. But when it's all said and done we would likely rebook.

We stayed here for a 60th birthday with sons and wives. This was a 70th birthday and it is just perfect. The house is peaceful and welcoming. The view is everything! If you have someone that can’t navigate the uneven ground and/or the loose sand, they will feel part of it because the water is right there, you can hear the waves. They are responsive to any request and always helpful. They have games and books for you. We saw some buckets, kites, kid items. I hope we can have someone’s 80th birthday here. We love the dining table that we can all fit around. Did I mention we love this place…Thank you

If you’re looking for a rustic beach home in a great location this is it.

Really enjoyed our time at the house. Worked well for us with a bunch of teenagers able to all be sleeping downstairs. The kitchen is tight, and if you are picky about kitchen gear I recommend you bring your own. We got by just fine and the big dining room was great for big dinners and games. The living room and view of the ocean was awesome. Not a big deal for us, but there is an owner apartment above the house, something to consider if you want to be truly on your own. Also, the internet was spotty at best. Overall we had a great time and would go back

We stayed in February so it was cold, we loved being able to see the beach and ocean from the warmth of the living room. Excellent views and generally nice home! My only complaint was the general noise of the ductwork if you are sleeping in the basement and that's it, really no complaints. We would stay again!

Quiet area with the beach in your backyard

I rented this property knowing we would play ball with the dogs outside the house and hang out doing yard games. The entire outdoor yard space was loaded with stickers. At our first discovery of them we pulled out 35 of them from my dog’s paws. This alone is a deal breaker for us renting this house again. Looks perfect in the pictures but you can’t see the stickers.

We always enjoy our visit to the Oregon coast. Seaside is one of our favorite places, this home is located north of town so even though there was a volleyball tournament going We had a peaceful stay. We had beautiful weather. I will say that the couches are tired and not particularly comfortable. It would be nice to have a usable fire pit even though it would have to be closer to the patio. I would recommend this rental for families to enjoy the ocean.

This house was the perfect location and spot to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday. Awesome views of the ocean from the living room and plenty of room for my family and dog. Thanks again for a great place to stay.

Great location. Nice trail leading to the ocean. Lots of games for entertainment. Air conditioning would have made it even better!!

This is a great place to say with a beautiful view and easy access to the beach. Being that close to the beach made it very nice for kids to be able to make multiple trips back to the house to warm up!

We enjoyed our stay and used it as a home base for our weekend at Miss Oregon. We appreciated how big it was and loved waking up early to look for shells on the beach. It was an older home and the lower level of the home seemed to be a converted basement. There was staining (or just dirty spots) on the linoleum flooring downstairs which made me do a double take once or twice. The sheets were not on my daughter’s bunk bed when we arrived. The other bunk was questionable if it had been washed recently, but the bed was made so we brushed a couple wood slivers off the pillow and made due. Altogether, we really enjoyed our time at the Riptides and we would stay again. It wasn’t fancy but the location was superb. Great for an extended family, and pets are allowed so that is appreciated too.

Had a great time with my family , house is awesome and great location, if there was anything negative about the stay it would be the beds very uncomfortable. Besides that great memories were made.

I thought the place was nice enough, although the pictures make the place look much nicer. There have been some u-dates but much more is needed. we didn't realize we would be sleeping in full beds, makes it a little snug when one is accustomed to a king. I felt as thought it was over priced, have stayed in much nicer places for less.

The location of the property was great. Do know that the owners retain the top floor of the property and were arriving when we were...which made check in a little awkward. We tried to ensure our kids were quiet enough as to not disturb the owners. Ultimately the owners departed on our second day of the trip and all was good. We enjoyed being so close to the beach. We took at least two beach walks daily and sometimes more. This beach was perfect for clamming and we caught our limit each day! Despite the quirkiness of the owner situation, we would utilize this rental again. It was both dog and kid friendly, was comfortable, and had a great location.

We loved having the beach right outside the door! The view from the house was very nice and the dining area was spacious. Loved having laundry machines, wished there were more than 3 detergent packs provided for our 5 day stay. The main viewing windows really needed to be cleaned, which I did so we could see the ocean clearly. The fire pit cannot be used by new regulation, so the listing should really remove it. We planned to use it and were disappointed to learn we could not once we got there. The kitchen is missing some basics like a sheet pan, and there are no basic food items stocked, like oil or sugar. The bedroom with bunk beds does not have light blocking curtains, so the kids were up with the sun every day. There are a ton of beach toys like buckets and shovels so you do not need to bring your own.

Overall this was a great place to stay. Private trail to the beach, where it really wasn’t crowded at all. Plenty of table space for sitting down for meals together, or work on puzzles and play board games. Wonderful views of the waves from the living room, and we enjoyed having a fire in the fireplace each evening when it got chilly. The few negatives we have: -Our three year old found a hairbrush full of hair under the tv stand within the first 5 minutes of being there. -Half eaten chocolate bar/wrapper tucked in the bunk bed, we discovered it while making the bunk when we got there. (wasn’t made prior to arrival) -If you’re sleeping in the basement, be prepared for true basement feeling and noises. It’s cold, no rugs, so bring slippers! You can hear every creek of the house, the loud noises of furnace kicking on. If you’re a heavy sleeper like my kids, it’s not a problem. Other than those few things, it really was a decent place to stay. The bonus was being able to do laundry! With three kids playing outside and getting dirty/wet, it was great to be able to just wash and dry all the clothes, and not take home bags of dirty laundry.

We have stayed in this house before, and we were so happy to return. While it was just us two and the doggies this time, it is a comfortable stay for a group of 8. The living room is large and comfortable, and you can’t beat the view. The expansive views of the beach, along with the comfort of the home makes it a great place to be, even if the weather is less than nice. Thank you for sharing your home.

It was obvious that some prior renters ignored the rule to not use it. Why leave it there to invite people to break the rule? Also, there is some outside security light that shines into the bunk room that is annoying for the people sleeping there.
