Perfect location to see a concert at festival park! We fell in love with the house and the town.

Our family of 4 stayed here very comfortably for 3 nights. First of all, the beds and pillows were wonderful —so comfortable! We also enjoyed the front porch rocking chairs and the house itself was charming. The location was perfect for exploring downtown. My son and I parasailed with Kitty Hawk Kites and there was plenty to do and see close by. Kids enjoyed the Wifi during our downtime. We would definitely stay here again.

This was the cutest little house , so comfy ,cozy & adorably decorated! The 2 kings size beds were super comfy! The living space was wonderful as well , very lovely 4 day stay we will definitely rebook if we return to the OBX

I had an amazing experience at the Midgett House in Manteo! The location is unbeatable, situated in a historic town that offers a wonderful atmosphere for walking and entertainment. Being close to beaches and local attractions added so much convenience to our stay. The home itself was well equipped, providing us with everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable visit. I highly recommend the Midgett House for a fantastic getaway!

The Neva Midgett House is a WONDERFUL place to stay in Manteo! Walking distance to the waterfront, pleasantly furnished, cozy & I'm thinking about when I can book a 2nd stay! The 2 bedrooms each having a king bed was fantastic for our group of 4 adults. Sharon is a delightful host!!

Very comfortable, quiet weekend

We really enjoyed our stay at Midgett Cottage! Like stepping through a time warp into someone's 1940 home - very cool. Was fun to read about Mrs. Midgett(e?). The cottage is more spacious than we expected from the pictures and was very comfortable. Worked out perfectly for us and our pup. Manteo itself is a refreshing, relaxing change from the strip retail frenzy of the main Outer Banks (nice to be able to walk down to the waterfront, grab a bite or a drink, check out the old houses along the way, etc) - on the other hand, turn the other direction down to Cape Hatteras National Seashore and everything is lovely and natural. Keep in mind there are only a handful of restaurants in Manteo itself. The first night we wandered randomly into NouVines wine bar (which is pet friendly) - what a great and interesting wine selection! Friendly owners, relaxing atmosphere; in the end, we never made it elsewhere for dinner (they have a charcuterie plate). Very friendly young woman named Katie B was singing and playing guitar (she's quite good and fun to chat with). Olives (Greek) is a great spot for lunch (not open for dinner). Aqua in Duck was another great lunch spot, nice chill atmosphere outside - only problem was the traffic getting to Duck. Got takeout from 1587 Restaurant the next night (no outdoor seating., so no doggie option), which was excellent. Other restaurants for some reason were either closed or had their patio closed. Decided to eat at home the next couple nights, so went to Fresh Catch Seafood in Wanchese - it's the real deal! Crazy fresh tuna steaks for one dinner and shrimp for another! We had a great stay here and hope to be back again!

This house is conveniently located within walking distance (about 3 blocks) of downtown Manteo. It is also located a short drive (about 10 minutes to the closest) from several beaches just across the bridge. Owner was easy to communicate and work with, I’d recommend staying in this house.

House was the perfect size and had everything we needed for our 4 night stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the Neva Midgett house this week. We were just a short distance from the beach, Aquarium, the Lost Colony outdoor theater, etc. The house met our family’d needs and the fact that it is a historical landmark made it extra special. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

This little house was enjoyable. Hardly knew that someone was staying in the upstairs (had their own entrance). This quaint 2 bedroom was very convenient to all OBX. Manteo is a very nice and quiet community. More laid back than stayimg right among all the hotels and restaurants, etc

Cute, comfortable and convenient to everything. Nice beds. Very historic. Parking was never an issue. There is a nice distillery a few houses away 😉. Super peaceful and quiet. Check in @4pm. Check out 9am. Thanks for your hospitality!!

We booked this beautiful home for a quick getaway to Manteo for a little beach time and a concert at Festival Park. It was so cozy and clean and very close (short walk) to the concert! We fell in love with the charm of this cottage that was both true to the history of the home yet filled with modern conveniences including super comfy beds! We definitely plan to book this wonderful little gem again!

The Neva Midget House was in the perfect location, walkable to all town restaurants, stores and theater. We fell in love with Manteo and you will too, don't miss a chance to visit. The house was perfect, very clean and well equipped. The antique furniture takes you back in time yet had all of the modern amenities needed. SUPER comfy beds and a GREAT shower. We cant wait to visit again soon. Parking is on street directly in front of the house or the side street, it was easy and space was always available. The owner was very attentive and helpful with suggestions for local attractions. Don't miss the Lost Colony Play! The beach is about an 8 minute drive and if you like a more secluded beach experience, try Coquina. You can drive on the beach or walk to your spot. We enjoyed everything and there is no lack of things to do. Steeped in history, great food and endless fun. I would highly recommend the Neva Midget house for your next or first visit to Manteo.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Midgett House in Manteo. The home was a perfect place for my wife and I for a long weekend. It was in walking distance to everything we wanted to do and is in a perfect location. My wife and I just can't say enough about the place, we have actually told other friends about and they thinking about renting it in the future.

We had a great time in the house. A convenient location with a short walk to good food and local attractions. The house was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The host made the process very easy, everything was as described making this a stress free stay.

We were happy to find this cute gem on very short notice. We were worried about the on-street parking, but it was no problem at all, the streets are wide and traffic was very quiet. Our stay was quiet and enjoyable. The neighborhood is wonderful, and it's a short, easy walk to dog-friendly Manteo, with great food to choose from, and friendly staff! Since we went "off season", we wondered if there would be anything open, but that was not an issue. Sharon was wonderful and responsive! Thanks for making our stay stress-free!
