Over all we had a great trip. The lake was up due to unexpected rain so we couldn’t enjoy the dock as much as we would like to have. The kayaks were great fun. The kids loved the ping pong table and s'more's at the fire pit. The house is beautiful and well equipped with everything you need to cook in or grill. Plenty of room for our family of 11. The kids suggest corn hole game. I highly recommend this rental.

We felt that the property could have been cleaner. Also the bedroom situation was somewhat difficult as we had 3 adult couples and the listing did not accurately reflect the situation. We had a slight problem with ants.

We had a pleasant time relaxing at the lake house with close friends for a week. Great weather, easy parking, very secluded getaway. We spent time on the lake, in Scottsville, did day trips to Bowling Green and Louisville and spent two days at Mammoth Cave. Great place to use as a home base during our visit.

This home turned into a very nice base for many activities in the area. Very pleasant to return to and enjoy. I'll definitely consider this location in the future

Layout perfectly accommodated our multi-family age range. Very well-appointed! Spacious outdoor screened area with large grill! Fabulous fire pit surrounded with concrete seating space! We didn't realize that the water level of the lake varies with the time of year until we arrived. This precluded the kayaking we anticipated. We discovered a little fishing spot (caught two bass) a short walk from the house and had a great time looking for fossils on the lake bed! Owner/host very congenial and responsive. We had a great time!

The property owner was great and communicated through our whole stay. The house is beautiful and a great location. The waterfront is only available beginning April 15, which we were notified about instantly and offered a full refund if we wanted to find a different place to stay!! We stayed anyway and were glad we did. The kitchen is perfectly stocked and all bedrooms had towels layed out to use. We would stay again and highly recommend this place!

Very nice house that had enough places to sleep for 14. They have a dock to put your boat and lake toys.They had 2 kayaks that the kids enjoyed. We recommend renting this place especially if you want direct access to river.

Had a wonderful time family made beautiful memories the place was gorgeous everything you needed was there place was very clean. The outside deck was the highlight of our trip we spend time out there until the mosquitoes came out. Fire pit was nice and big. The owner was very nice when you called him if anything went wrong he was hands-on. I would stay there again like I said we may beautiful memories with our family.

We've visited Tom's property several times over the last 5 years and it always suits our family well.

This property has everything you need in every room. You bring the food, boat, and people this property is walk in ready. Plenty of parking for the whole family and friends. The kitchen has everything you need for meal preparing and serving. Then as you continue to the back porch of tranquility you see the lake. Down a few stairs to the dock you are then entering the most peaceful cove on Barren River Lake. This is a great place to stay and not to mention the family that owns this home may be the nicest people you will meet.

The dock and the lake was awesome, really enjoyed our family time here. The beds were not very comfortable, but thats just a preference each to there own. The house and property was very clean. Thank you for sharing your home with our family.

Our group of adult friends rented this house and the sister property next door. There was plenty of parking on the grassy lot across the road, making logistics of loading/unloading cars so easy. There a a few bedrooms with bunk beds so a few of our "couples" needed to split up but it didn't affect our fun. Just be aware of that. The covered deck is absolutely terrific with views of the trees, sounds of nature, and protection from the elements. We lived on that deck! But best of all is definitely the direct access you have to the dock, which has multiple slips. The water off the dock is about 4-feet deep and there are many steps from the house down to the water, but it made such a huge difference being able to store our watercraft there overnight. The only issues were very minor - a few doors could be shimmed so they close better, some of the kitchen cabinets need new hinges, and the pullout sofa is like sleeping directly on top of springs. But I'm serious when I say these are easy to overlook when everything else is so great. Tom is a high-quality property owner and very responsive.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. Overall, very clean and all the amenities we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked with every item you would need for cooking. The proximity to our in-town family was perfect, so great for what we needed. Only complaints... the bunk beds do not have actual mattresses. They are more like big pillows that are not very thick, soft, or supportive. We also found a dead mouse under our bed the first night (in one of the bunk rooms), so that was not great, but overall the property was clean and well-maintained.

We had a wonderful time staying here! My family of 13 (7 adults and 6 children) had plenty of room indoors, and were able to enjoy the outdoors quite a bit during our unseasonably warm winter vacation. The house was perfectly clean, and had by far the best stocked VRBO kitchen I've ever seen. We had only a couple of issues, but the owner responded extremely quickly, and was super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed it so much, we will probably plan a trip during warmer weather when we can play in the water. As it was, our kids tromped through the woods and the dry creekbed, we drank coffee and had breakfast pastries on the large porch, and we played in the large green lawn across the street. It was private and quiet (except for us!), and we had a lovely holiday together. I highly recommend this owner and this property, and I look forward to returning!

This was the perfect place (along with the sister house) for our family Christmas. A group of 24, we enjoyed our stay immensely!! The bunks worked good for children and everyone had a wonderful time even getting in on some snow which added to the beauty of it all! Would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the lake and the covered porches! Thanks again for the great accommodations!

It’s a lovely home. Quiet. I deeply appreciated the homemade zucchini bread. Delicious. Sure wished for ESPN. We couldn’t watch the UK football game. Also a pack of starter coffee would have been so nice. We had just a lovely time of quiet and visiting family. Thank you.

This was a perfect lakehouse experience for our family! The home was spacious, well-stocked, and perfectly clean. Towels and linens were clean and abundant. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the dishes we needed to cook a nice breakfast--bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, etc. And the grill on the deck was great for hamburgers, etc. The dock access is perfect, with about as few steps as you can find on Barren River Lake. It's in a good location too, only about 10 min by boat to the marina. Everything in the home was in perfect working order, plenty of hot water for more than one person to take a shower at one time. We didn't lack for anything at this lovely home. The hosts were super nice, friendly, and accommodating as well. Their kindness was icing on the cake! Before our stay was over we were all saying how we definitely had to come back. :-)

We essentially had three families and the three floors accommodated us perfectly. We loved being a short walk from the boat slip. Everything is as described in posting. Very clean, well equipped and responsive host.

Had a fantastic weekend spending time with family at this gem. Stocked with everything you could possibly need. Spent all day down on the dock and swimming in the cove. We took our boat but didn't take it out much because we loved hanging out in the cove. So relaxing! You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lost Cove. The house was very clean and stocked with the essentials needed for a stay. The views to the lake are incredible. The welcome book in the house was extremely helpful and left no questions unanswered as far as wants or needs in the house and surrounding area.
