We have stayed at the 5 Boys Retreat several times because we simply love it! The hosts have taken time to think of every detail to make it a great stay. The kitchen is well-equipped to be able to cook meals for our family and we love the overall layout of the cabin. There's plenty of space to be comfortable while still being cozy. The views from the back porches are beautiful and the location is very convenient. It's our favorite place to stay when visiting Boone!

This house was the perfect place for our fall girlfriend weekend. Beautiful views, loaded kitchen, comfy beds, very clean and the perfect location to both Boone and Blowing Rock! Anne-Marie was amazing and always replied quickly with helpful information. We will be back!

The house is nice and tucked away. Close enough to Boone and Blowing Rock to go out an adventure. Overall a great place to stay if you are looking to visit the area!

Great property for several families!

This was the most beautiful home. It was well appointed and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and easily accommodated our group of eight. The welcome basket of snacks, and the body wash shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the bathrooms were nice touches. The tall ceilings in the lower level were phenomenal. It did not feel like a basement. The hosts were extremely communicative. Easy to get anywhere throughout the Boone/Blowing Rock area. We rent a house in the mountains twice a year for many years and this is by far the best we have rented. Highly recommend.

Very nice place, we had 7 adults and the spacing between families was good for privacy and not cramped all together. Nice deck to relax on and close to Boone.

This property was beautifully maintained, very clean and well equipped for our stay. We enjoyed the view from the deck and being able to sit under the covered area in a rain strom was lovely. We enjoyed playing pool and making some delicious meals in the beautiful kitchen. We would definitely come back!

Serene is the word that best describes the setting - while it is very conveniently located near local activities, restaurants, etc. it is peaceful and secluded. The house is well-maintained, very clean, and has all the amenities you would want. The bedrooms were all large and comfortable. We booked only for a couple of nights as part of a longer trip visiting family in the Piedmont - our only complaint is that we didn't book a longer stay. We definitely plan to book again (for a longer stay).

Love the home - clean, well appointed, lots of room for all, stocked kitchen, and fun game room. Love the location - easy access to Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, and all the most popular sites/hikes. Love the views - we have stayed here twice now, once in the fall, and most recently in early spring, both provided their own special beauty. Owners are very responsive and easy to work with. We will be back!

The process was extremely simple, and the owners made it very easy to check on. Everything in the house was labeled and instructions were clear upon check in and check out.

5 Boys Mountain retreat was fantastic. Location was very convenient to Boone/Blowing Rock as well as the ski resorts. House was well appointed and had everything we needed for cooking and enjoying a great retreat with friends. Highly recommend if visiting the area with a small group.

We stayed at 5 boys for a long weekend with our kids and two other families – the space was wonderful, each bedroom was spacious and there was plenty of room for all three families to feel like we had our own space/weren’t on top of one another. The house was also very clean and had a well-stocked kitchen (including plastic dishes for the kiddos!), and was fully equipped to keep everyone entertained even when bad weather kept us in more than we had planned – from board games to Roku TVs to the game room downstairs, and cozy gas fireplaces. The location really can’t be beat – it’s the perfect mix of being close to things (10 min. to Boone, 15 min. to Blowing Rock) which meant easy access to grocery stores/restaurants and activities, but also let us feel like we were in a secluded retreat being up on the hill and with a lovely view out to the mountains. Was a relatively quick drive over to Grandfather Mt. and other points on the Blue Ridge Parkway as well. We were treated to a dusting of snow our last morning there, and would love to come back any season to enjoy this beautiful retreat.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at 5 Boys and it never disappoints. Location is perfect for App State/Boone activities, house is well appointed. Exceeds our expectations!

Perfect is the best way to describe this home for our needs. Our four families, with children ranging from 3 to 8, had an amazing time. So much so that we didn’t want to leave for our planned activities each day. The kids enjoyed having their own space upstairs to play and hang out. The house is stocked with nearly every supply you could think of and the owners have done an excellent job of labeling things to keep it organized. Definitely follow the parking instructions or you may regret it! The driveway is steep on the one side. We plan to return next fall, if not sooner!
