This house was great. We were in Savannah for a bachelorette party and the house had plenty of rooms and bathrooms. We were 9 women and we never ran out of hot water in the showers. Location is great, we were able to walk almost everywhere. The rental company Lucky Savannah hosts this property and they were amazing to deal with. Anytime I sent a message asking about something I got a response right away. Highly recommend this property.

My family, age 78 to 6 years of age, thoroughly enjoyed staying at Gaston Estate over Christmas week. It is close to Forsyth Park and the Savannah historic district—great location! Parking is included which is an important amenity in Savannah. The website says space for 2 cars, but if your cars are regular size, 3 can fit. The house is very spacious and easily accommodated our family gathering of 8. This is our 2nd time staying there and we will definitely come back!

The property was on a great location, easily walkable to everywhere. However, if marketed for 6 adults, there should be comfortable inside seating for 6 (or more) adults. If not for the porch, and the extra camp chairs, we would not have been able to sit and visit as a family. Nowhere to have a meal, and no place to even set a cup of coffee. Finally, while the maintenance person was lovely, drain and toilet clogged and it took 2 days to get it fixed. Did I mention 6 adults? And 1 of 2 toilets down? Not good.

Overall, the house "looked" clean, but there were dead roaches in several areas of the house. The backyard is nice, but the chairs had no cushions and there were leaves everywhere. So basically, an advertised space that's not usable. There was also a nail sticking out of the wood floor in one of the upstairs bedrooms that my daughter cut herself on, so be careful and walk around w/shoes on-definitely a safety hazard. Walking distance to Forsyth Park and having a designated area to park was a plus.

My family loved the area and how close it was to attractions and all the space we had to spread out and join together. Firstly, the house and fixtures are beautiful, everything was as described in the profile advertisement. The home fit 9 people easily , with two kitchens and enough bathroom space to allow for easy morning rituals as we prepped to explore. This home allowed us to make this giant family vacation a memorable experience. The one drawback to the home, which is most likely due to the massive amount of humidity and was remedied by Febreeze was the house had a smell of mildew when we arrived. All in all I would recommend this home to any travelers and hope to return.

The location was great. Super convenient to all the downtown hot spots and Forsyth Park. I’m not a fan of old homes, but we were a family of 8 and we really wanted to stay together. The internet and cable television did not work for two days and circuit breaker tripped 3 times during our stay. All in all it was a good stay.

It was absolutely lovely and we were already talking about our next visit before this one finished! The home is gorgeous, but maybe a little bit sparse. It would be nice if the outdoor furniture had cushions. Overall, we loved our stay!To note: I recommend a lot of confirmation and checkins with Lucky Savannah. Due to the last minute upgrade, Lucky Savannah forgot to transfer our early check-in and we arrived to the place being locked and not cleaned. The cleaners showed up very quickly once I called the issue in and did a great job, but it put a damper on our arrival. The rental could probably use some more user friendly explanations about how to lock back doors, what to do with trash and recycling, etc (I am 28, technology is not usually a challenge for me, but I found the rental platform to be challenging) and there is a not a great way to get in contact to ask quick questions.

Quick week end stay with family. House is located a few blocks from Forsyth Park with 5 large bedrooms. 2 bedrooms had twin beds. Ample space to hang out and relax in evening and outdoor seating (it rained so we didn’t). Kitchen was well supplied. Plenty of linens and towels. The 2 parking spaces in back was awesome. 2 sets of stairs, could be challenging as well as stairs to main house. We used downstairs entrance. This is an idle place to stay with a group and explore/enjoy Savannah

This historic home has been beautifully updated without compromising its historic nature. It is in a quiet neighborhood close to Forsyth Park with two off street parking places, which is unusual.

Great location! Very clean! Very updated! We loved this house! it was easy to walk all over the city-wonderful location on a beautiful street. Plenty of space to hang out and cook if you so desire. Bedrooms are on the lower level (basement) and upstairs. Loved this house!

Everyone had their own space with plenty of room to cook in the large and kitchen that contained all the cooking utensils, pots and pans that we needed. Seating areas were great for gathering to reminisce, play games, and laugh! We walked to town and to the restaurants. The house was clean and updated. The Lucky Savannah team members were all pleasant and responsive. They provided great recommendations for restaurants, sightseeing, Pickleball, etc. I highly recommend this property and lucky Savannah!

We had the absolute best time staying at this property. We came into town for our sons wedding and we loved everything about this house. Plenty of room for us. It’s in a great location. Walking distance to everything. Highly recommend

9 of us met in Savannah for a low key girls’ weekend. This property was so nice and comfortable and perfectly located. It was so easy to walk to all of the parks and shops and restaurants. It doesn’t hurt that the liquor store is right next-door! I really appreciate that the only thing we had to do to check out was to take out the kitchen trash. Other VRBO‘s have a huge chore list and still charge you a cleaning fee but this one does not make you the maid.

Gaston Estate was wonderful. Had plenty of room for 5 adult women. Having a half bath just off the kitchen was a benefit. Home was clean and well appointed. Would suggest having some type of mirror in each bedroom (master had one). Clothing racks in the bedrooms was a real bonus!! Bedrooms were spacious. Home is old but kept up. Kitchen well-stocked with equipment. Communication with Lucky Savannah/Management company was excellent.

The pictures were beautiful, the house was beautiful. The house was perfect for the women in the wedding party to get ready. Much easier for everyone to get ready at the same place for pictures for the photographer. Excellent stay. Way better than a hotel

Great party house, main floor has a huge open space and plenty of rooms upstairs and downstairs to crawl off to for sleep. Location is a nice short stumble to restaurants, bars and parks.

The downstairs “apartment” is perfect for your teens who want to retire to their own quarters after hanging out with the family all day. The house is exactly how the pics look. Be prepared to get your steps in. Have to climb approx 20 stairs to get to upstairs bedrooms or go down 20 to access the downstairs apartment. Jamilla, Lucky Savannah representative, was outstanding. There were a couple of blown bulbs upon arrival. Jamilla hand-delivered the bulbs within an hour of me contacting the office. There was a minor ceiling fan malfunction during the stay, too. The maintenance pro & his assistant, Trey, were knowledgeable, professional & swift with the fix. I will definitely return!

My family of 91 year old mother and 4 adult children with 3 spouses stayed at the Gaston House for a 5 night stay in June 2022. The house is beautifully restored to maintain the charm of it’s history and yet have all the modern amenities you would want. The kitchens , both up and down were wonderfully appointed and we lacked for nothing to fix whatever we wanted. Many times you will find a kitchen utensil missing or just a small selection but not here, we had all we needed and then some. We were also impressed with all the product that was supplied such as toilet paper, shampoo, soap etc, again we had all we could want or need. We were also pleased with the location having a Kroger just a few blocks away and yet still very close to everything we wished to do and we loved our morning walks in Forsyth Park! We would definitely recommend Lucky Savannah and the Gaston house although if your 91 yo mother is not as spry as ours there are lots of stairs in Gaston house so may not be the best for those with limited mobility! WE, however, loved every minute of it and would come back again just to take our morning walks in Forsyth Park! Thank you Lucky Savannah!

It is close enough to walk to all the attractions but far enough away from River Street to enjoy the quiet neighborhood. I did try to call the day before our check-in date, and again the morning of, to request an early check-in, but no one from Lucky Savannah returned my calls. So there ended up being some confusion about when we could enter the property. Other than that our stay was fantastic. I hope to be able to return to Savannah for another visit and I would definitely want to stay here again.

Reviewer Comments: My girlfriends and I were thrilled to stay at The Gaston Estate after viewing the pictures and seeing the ideal location for my bachelorette weekend ... until we walked into the door. The whole place SMELLED awful! I contacted Lucky Savannah customer service immediately to request a resolution for cleaning up the place since we would not have been able to find alternative housing for our group, and they sent over a housekeeping staff who dropped off a can of Lysol (?) without any additional action. I am a dog lover so cannot speak from experience, but my fellow travelers swore that the whole place stunk of cat urine. Needless to say, we spent as little time as possible in the actual property which is a major disappointment given the $$$ that we paid. I requested immediate follow-up from the manager at time of my check-out on Sunday and did not hear back until almost the end of the week after I reached out again. Though they offered a small refund, it was disappointing that the manager provided an explanation that the stench was due to the age of the home and rainfall in Savannah. I live in a home that also is over 100 years old in the humid South and have never experienced a similar concern. I would have serious reservations about renting from this property management company again due to their lack of transparency regarding the property's condition and failure to communicate in a timely manner to resolve customer complaints.
