Had everything we needed plus a great view.

We couldn't have asked for a better trip to Minnesota. Roy and Denise were the most hospitable hosts. The fireside cabin was perfect for us. It gave us a place to eat, use the restroom and sleep. By no means is it anything fancy, but it's just all you need. It's incredibly quaint and very home-y feeling. We were able to put up a pack-n-play in the front bedroom, so know that is possible if needed! If you need anything at all contact Roy and Denise. They will do anything they can to get you what you need. We will absolutely be back! Thanks for making our first trip so memorable!

This was our second year in a row coming to Roy's Last Resort. You will not find nicer hosts than Roy and Denise. They are absolutely the best!

We really enjoyed our stay, cabin met all of our needs. I enjoyed having a dock to tie the boat to, with access of power. This came in handy with as much I needed the Trolling motor. Fishing was tough but we managed to finally find them after some searching. Owners are very friendly great communication with us from the start. We would definitely stay here again and we will be recommending it others.

This place was amazing! Very clean, great location on the lake, and the owners were awesome. The dock was set up appropriately with power to plug the boats in and there was plenty of space. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a beautiful place on Lake Vermillion. Chad Anderson

I rented the cabin for my 3 kids and myself and it was more than enough space for us, even with my brother and parents dropping in for a night or two. It was very clean and cozy and furnished with everything we could possibly need during our stay. Denise and Roy are so accommodating and friendly. We hope to visit again next summer!

This was a wonderful place for a family vacation. The cabin was very nice and bigger than thought. The yard was big and great for play.

We had such a great time. The kids asked to make this an annual trip after the first day! Denise and Roy were amazing and made us feel like old friends. We loved Buddy and Otto, but we love dogs. The fishing was great. The cabin was perfect for our family of 6. It came stocked with all we needed. The views were great. We are a young, energetic group and didn't mind the steps down to the beach. The beach was small, but great for our youngest. We hope to come back and stay again.

Magnificent lake views from cabin with convenient boat docks and beach a staircase away. Great bonfire pit with lots of split wood and a bar and grill just a short walk away from the cabin. The caretakers were welcoming and helpful. We would return for fishing, pet friendly lake life.

Vermilion is such a pretty lake and our cabin was overlooking the lake through the old birch trees and towering red pines. The view was beautiful and the sunsets, breathtaking. The cabin was perfect. The knotty pine finish takes me back to memories of our family vacations up north as a child. It had a full bath and kitchen with 3 bedrooms and an open living and dining area with a big picture window looking at the lake. All the windows had new upgrades and they kept the timeless charm of this cabin by keeping the cool old windows in the kitchen. Denise and Roy, the owners, have everything you need for a relaxing family getaway. They made sure everything was fully furnished and stocked, this included all the firewood you could possibly want for the beautiful hand made old stone fireplace and the firepit and trust me we had that going all the time. Oh and did I mention the free wifi, super important with 2 teenage boys that have to Bluetooth and streamline music. We can't wait to come back when the lake is open so we can do some boating and canoeing. The boys even asked Roy if he would take them fishing and he was so nice and told them, absolutely, anytime. The owners were so friendly and accommodating and lived next door so it was nice to have them so close. It was like having our own personal tour guides. They had wonderful recommendations on where to go for other fun activities when everything opens back up. Definitely will be making this an annual trip and there is so much space and other rental options on their property that we will be bringing our friends next time because this truly is the UpNorth vacation destination for us.

It was nice access to the snowmobile trail. Like being secluded and have the woods feel.

The picture shown on this site is not the one you get at this cabin, this is a deck off of the owners property. This cabin is in great dire need of rehab. Floors bellow when you walk on them, deck is in need of some real fixing, your cabin view of the lake is obscured by trees in front of the bedroom window. Some of the rooms had a bad odor and it's not as private as the pictures appear. More like a camp site.. The stairs to the lake are in front of the owners cabin and are very, very steep to reach the water. The docks need help also, sway when walking on them. The owners were nice, but this was a lot of money for this cabin and it wasn't even on the water. They have Roku TV, WIFI wasn't the greatest, couldn't even get a signal to make a phone call. I will not be returning to this place soon.

Property is well kept and has great lake access and beautiful sunsets. The kids love the giant lily pad!

Very fun filled weekend. Property owner was very friendly. Cabin was just right for our group.

I am so in love with this cabin. The outside could use some work however dont let that fool you.. the inside is wonderful. it really gives that cabin feel. the rock stone fireplace is amazing.We had fires in there 2 nights and it was really enjoyable to have an indoor fireplace. My husband and I will for sure be coming back. Denise and Roy are wonderful people. they came and introduced themselves when we showed up. Very nice area for outside campfires as well. The full moon was wonderful to look at outside with the nightly fires. Would recommend the only thing is the beds are not the greatest. there is one bed with the foam padding on it and it was super comfortable and didnt know that till the 2nd night we were there and we switched beds it was just my husband and I. If i would suggest anything it would be to get foam for the other 2 beds as well. otherwise it was super quiet and cozy and i will be returning next year for sure. the only thing is i will be booking for longer than 6 days. it went by way too fast.

We spent a long week-end and lucked out with beautiful weather and a wonderful stay. Perfect.

The kids had a great time playing on the lake and making new friends. We loved the camp fires, sunsets and star gazing.

The family came up and we stayed for 3 nights. It was a cute little cabin. New owners and they are absolutely wonderful people!! They had just about everything that you would need from dishes to bedding. They had a campfire right outside the front door which was great. Beautiful views from down by the beach area. We all hada great time and now were sad it has to come to an end. Would/will come back here and would recommend to anyone. But definitely bring pants and sweatshirts.

The cabin, beds and furniture were clean and comfy and improvements you’ve already made such as winterizing, replacing windows and adding picture window are great. Roy and Denise were pleasant and attentive on-site hosts. Cort’s reservation & pmt process was seamless. Maps & things-to-do were helpful. Boat launch was close and we especially appreciated being able to tie-up the boat at docks all week. We will definitely be back!

The cabin was very cozy and reminded me of my parents lake cabin. Our hosts were great! Everything from making our stay great to sharing all the fishing hotspots. The grandkids especially liked the big sandbox!!! Only regret is wish we could have stayed longer.

Exterior and grounds need (more) work. A good spring cleaning is needed inside and out. With fees cost is high for what you get.

I just want to say that the owners worked with our unique situation and were very accommodating. The cabin was wonderful! The WiFi was awesome, never had an issue which is an awesome amenity to have out on the lake. The view is glorious and rain or shine just beautiful.

Just got home from a great weekend of cross country skiing. Cabin was great with classic old school cabin feel. Used the old stone fireplace both nights which was great. Easy 25 minute drive to Ely. Cort is great to work with. We had to reschedule twice due to extreme cold weather and again because we botched our schedule and both times Cort was totally understanding and flexible which we're grateful for. BTW, I save my 5-star reviews for out of this world. 4 in my book means very good. Thx Cort.

We had a great time staying at Bayview Fireside. Location was perfect for snowmobiling, as the snowmobile trails were right there, both on and off the lake. Only a couple miles by snowmobile or car to the Vermilion Club for lunch, dinner, or drinks. The cabin was very clean, which goes a long way for us. The beds and pillows were super comfortable, also. Growing up with cabins, it had the "cabin" feel that we all love, yet we still had all the amenities of home. The view of the lake from the living room and one of the bedrooms was great. If staying in the summer, Bayview Lodge is right there, within walking distance, for food and drinks. Great location on the lake if boating. We would definitely stay here again.
