Awesome island cabin getaway on awesome lake. The location is the perfect blend of easy to access and seclusion. The scenery from the deck with morning coffee couldn’t be better. Great mid lake location for sightseeing or fishing. Caught walleye from the dock. The owners were great to work with and very courteous. The cabin has been well taken care of and everything was in great working order. There are a few inconveniences that come along with a remote cabin like a lake water system, smaller but adequate heating and a/c, and smaller space. But the owners do everything to help with that. They provide a bubbler for drinking water, electric space heaters, window a/c, all necessary kitchen appliances, and free firewood within reason which is pretty cool. Being near well maintained access was comforting in case of emergency or the need for a quick run for supplies. All in all a great spot for a secluded fishing getaway.

This adorable cozy island cabin on Lake Vermilion was perfect for two of us. It was clean, well appointed (nice decor), and with an open floor plan very comfortable. Nice lake view and very peaceful. The bay is sheltered so boat was safe from wind and rough waves. Only downside was we couldn’t get any tv reception. But the Bluetooth player was great for watching movies. Owner was very easy to work with, too. Definitely want to return!!

We had a great time staying at the one bedroom cabin with a pull out bed. It was very relaxing quiet and clean. The owners did a great job communicating check in and if we needed anything. We would definitely stay again!

The accommodations were perfect for our stay and the cabin was clean and well maintained. Cabin was centrally located on the lake and made getting around easy. Boat launch is a couple minutes away.

The location and the cabin were absolutely perfect! Everything was a "wow"! The owners were so attentive and great to work with. We will definitely be going back here!

My son and I spent 9 nights at the cabin on Grove Island and it was perfect. Tom reached out several times to make sure everything was good for us and ask if we needed anything. I’ve been going to Vermilion for 36 years and our time at the cabin was as good as any trip I’ve taken to the lake.

Great place to do some fishing and relaxing. Tom and Ann were very helpful and checked with us to ensure we knew about the property and how to get there. Then checking that we made it and everything was ok.

We are a family accustomed to camping, but looking for a setting with a few more amenities for a week-long stay. This cabin was a good match for us! We rented a boat (from Moccasin Marine) for fishing and brought our own paddleboard. We loved sitting up on the deck and lounging on the dock, and between the two there was always both sun and shade available. A very brief paddle just to the edge of the little bay allowed for the most amazing sunset viewing every night! The cabin had everything we needed. We were concerned the pull-out couch might not be comfortable for our two teen boys, but they slept just fine. The vaulted ceiling and open floor plan made the space feel plenty big. Our two dogs also enjoyed their time, and being on an island made us less concerned that they would wander far.Tom was responsive and very helpful before and during our stay. Everything went very smoothly and we would love to return!

Perfect getaway for the long weekend. The cabin has everything you need, even dried firewood. I would highly recommend this cabin for 2-4 people or 2 adults and children.

We were lucky enough to catch a show of the Northern Lights. Cabin faces North with an outstanding view over of the water. Fortune Bay Casino is a quick trip about 12 mile down Hwy 77 and is always fun for a night. Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park is a must do especially if you have kids. The cabin may be on an island but there is no shortage of things to see and do. Thanks Tom and Ann. Looking forward to returning soon.

We stayed for a long weekend at the cabin and had a great time. Tom was always in contact with us, wanting to know if everything was going well and how the fishing was. I sent maps of the lake for the best fishing spots and we did very good at catching fish. Really enjoyed our stay and will for sure go back. Thank you.

This was our second stay here and it was perfect. The cabin is clean and well equipped. The dock is level with the yard so no steps to go up and down. The owner was excellent to work with. Would like to come back.

We had a great time at the cabin! It was clean and had everything you need. We spent the days fishing and boating. The lake was beautiful! Our dogs loved swimming and jumping off the dock. We loved it and will definitely go back.

This little cabin is in a great location, clean, well-stocked, and perfect for a couple.

This is a very nice little cabin in a secluded bay, with private dock, only a few hundred yards from a public boat landing. Property is well maintained and very "north Woodsy".

Gorgeous sounds and view. Loved our stay here. Just don’t miss that it’s on an island :) we hope to go back!!
