We had an amazing time staying in the big blue house over labor day weekend. The proximity to the restaurants, shops, and activities is amazing. The host was very communicative. We loved hanging out in the front porch room with the window open on warm days. The kitchen is well stocked with dishwear and amenities. Very close to Vons to walk and get groceries.

There were 10 of us here for the Catalina Island Marathon. The location was incredible, just a 2 minute walk to the beach. One tiny quibble - one of the beds was a fold down outdoor sofa on what is essentially a front porch. You won’t have an issue with this unless you plan on using every bed.

Great place to stay near the action in Avalon. Description was accurate and home was a quick walk from the pier. It had enough kitchen items to cook; towels, beach chairs, a large beach cart-many items in the picture as shown. It looked clean, but my boys were running around barefoot and they had dirt all over their feet. Also, the home is so close to the action that you will hear people and golf carts at night. I would stay here again, but request a better floor cleaning.

My fantasy football league had our draft in Avalon and many of us stayed here. It was a prefect setup. Close enough to walk everywhere, but different than some of the hotels that have clubs nearby or on the premises where you can't control the noise. Going to stay again.

We love our stayed, Catalina Island did not disappoint, offers tons of great food choices, bars and shops.

Everything about this stay was perfection. Check-in process was hassle free, house was big, clean, well maintained, and in a great location with easy access to DBC and local restaurants. 10/10 recommend for a fun weekend stay.

I stayed here for a long weekend with 4 friends and can't recommend it enough. The house is lovely and had everything we needed, and the location could not be more ideal. Highly recommend for families or groups of friends.

the hosts had provided everything that we needed. There was even beach chairs and sand buckets etc. for the kids. the grocery store was a brief walk and so we cooked a fair amount. Would stay here again!

We had a great experience in this home! The location cannot be beat. The hosts were responsive and very accommodating. The home was a great place to host a bachelorette party - close to everything: the Vons, beach, restaurants and boat dock. The kitchen gets pretty warm if cooking in there but otherwise the house stayed fairly cool in the 80+ degree heat if day. 1 room upstairs has AC but most have only fans so if that is an issue, this may not be the place for you. The sinks in bedrooms were actually helpful for our group since we had lots of women getting ready at the same time. And lots of mirrors was a HUGE plus :) I can’t complain about anything! I would definitely stay here with a large group again in the future

The house had all the essentials plus more to make our stay very comfortable. The floors were dirty where we could walk barefoot w/o getting dirty feet. We took our shoes off at the front door to not make them or rugs more dirty. Overall, we had a great stay. The location was perfect to walk to the beach, restaurants, shopping, & grocery store.

We have been enjoying a week in Catalina every summer for 10 years. This was our first stay at the Big Blue House and it was wonderful! It had everything we needed and was perfect for our family. We went on morning walks, enjoyed the beach during the day and watched family movies at night. Thank you for a great stay!

This place was in an excellent location and perfect for our family. It was very clean upon arrival. Host was easy to communicate with and very helpful. We had a lovely stay.

This house has alot of space. Very quick walk from ferry, flat walk no climbing. All bedrooms are upstairs and it is a very busy street with lots of golf carts and trucks at all hours but if you like to be in the middle of the action this is it. The owners are great and you don’t need a gold cart to get around as everything is in walking distance. Beds are very comfortable with plenty of blankets and towels.

The Blue House is a great base for a visit to Avalon, with the sea front and all its shops and restaurants just a minute’s walk away. You can walk easily from the ferry.

The Big Blue House is only a short couple blocks from town and the port. It’s the perfect location! We were a party of six adults, and had plenty of room. I would suggest bringing beach towels, as they aren’t provided. There are plenty of beach chairs. Check-in was a breeze.

As advertised, everything was in order. We loved the spaciousness of the downstairs and how it was more stocked in the kitchen and with things for the beach than most places here in Avalon. Manager was very nice and when there was an issue with keys it was fixed almost instantly. Unusual to have sinks in two bedrooms but with 8 family members and two bathrooms it was nice to have a place to brush teeth, etc. and not keep people from using shower, etc. I was a little uncertain about check-in in advance but it turned out to be easy.

The house provided just the right amount of accommodations for the family. There was enough space for everyone to sit and relax after the variou outings. The location was great as we were able to walk to get to each of the activities we had scheduled.

We've been spending 4th of July week in Catalina for over 25 years and have stayed in many different properties. This one was perfect for us! Plenty of beds, great kitchen and so close to the beach! We'll be staying again next year!

The house is perfect for large families or groups. It is located just off the main beach so it is very centralized for all activities. Everything is within walking distance. The house is very well stocked with most daily supplies. The manager responded quickly and was very accommodating to our ferry schedule to store the luggage. We will definitely return for another stay if available.

The property is less than 5 minute walk from the bay, restaurants, shopping and groceries. It is very large, we had six adults with plenty of room. The front porch is enclosed but the large slide window opens fully to enjoy the weather. It has all the amenities needed to cook and socializing. I definitely recommend staying here.

This house was a great rental in a prime location- everything in downtown Avalon within walking distance. The house was clean, beds comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching the world go by. We especially appreciated the late checkout accommodation!
