Undeniably a beautiful location, up in a far flung valley in Amed. The cabins, pool and communal areas are beautifully designed and maintained and the staff were all very nice and attentive. Really loved the pool area where there were bougainvillea flowers in bloom and butterflies everywhere. Absolutely stunning view from the restaurant down the valley all to the way to the sea.

You are a captured market and they know it. The food in the restaurant is expensive by Bali standards, the wine is eye wateringly expensive. For reference a bottle of Yellowglen cuvee (typically costing $8AUD in Australia) is selling for over IDR900,000 ($90AUD), cant really justify a 10x markup on a cheap wine even when you account for import tariffs etc. Additionally, the breakfast wasn't included in our booking and upon arrival ended up being IDR250k ($25AUD) per person plus service, plus tax which equates to over IDR600k ($60AUD) a day, which is more than most Sydney cafes. It was quite a nice breakfast but it was also enormous and more than you could ever need. We ended up just going in to Amed town and having Nasi Gorengs (IDR25k) every morning. I really think al a carte breakfast would make people feel less exploited. The location is more remote than you might realize, and is difficult to get to and from. Whilst Mathis do run a complimentary shuttle hourly up and down the hill, once you get to the bottom of the hill you are on your own. Make sure you have a means of transport whether that be a scooter or a rental car. We were at the mercy of the local taxi mafia and they were charging IDR250,000 to drive 10 mins (4kms) along the coast to where some friends were staying. Compared to south Bali that should nearly equate to a driver for the whole day. Not the hotels fault but be aware when booking.

I didn't expect to have a separate house with a terrace which had a stunning view and also a big bed, where you can chill enjoying the view. The room was beautifully decorated and the bathroom had even a small garden. The design of the whole place is very natural, a lot of wood and plants. The staff was excellent, very thoughtful and attentive. The place has such insane views, that it really worth it going all the way up the the mountain to have that view and the infinity pool. Bathroom amenities were very nice, especially the shower gel with a good fragrance. There were no mosquitoes around, or any other insects in the room. I'd recommend taking a snorkeling trip organised by the hotel, and go to underwater temple and pyramids where we saw turtles.

Going all the way uphill in the transfer car, which was cute though. But the road is not the easiest and you must inform the receptionist each time you're planning to take the transfer. One time we were running late and they sent the driver to pick us up from the cafe, which was super helpful. The food at the restaurant is average, on a pricey side. Tataki was good though. Massage was also ok. I think bigger towns like Canggu have more professional salons. In the room I lacked a drying rack and one more chair.

This is a quiet and peaceful location, away from it all. The accommodation is beautiful, overlooking the valley, and staff are kind and attentive.

Отдыхали с мужем в отеле 3 ночи. Могу отметить отношение персонала, улыбчивые, готовые помочь🙏🏻 Хороший дизайн ресторана отеля и бассейн с видом на холмы и море вдалеке тоже можно отметить. Если вам повезет и будет тихо, то можно слушать пение птиц и природы вокруг, во время нашего пребывания в отеле это была редкая возможность. Завтраки можно отметить, работу шаттл баса - удобно и даже прикольно прокатиться, мы ездили к морю, ребята работники классные, дружелюбные.

Отель не ухоженный в целом, это не 5 звезд совсем, это хорошая трешка - замечаешь это в мелочах, деталях. Простыни не белоснежные, изначально была даже грязная простынь, пришлось просить менять белье. Полотенца тоже с затхлым запахом. Отель находится внутри поселения и вдоль дороги и слышно, как общаются люди в варунгах, в нашем случае еще и дискотека была нон стоп, начинали в 8 утра и с перерывами, но часов до 10-11 вечера гремела музыка, так было все дни, поэтому сложно сказать, всегда там так или нет. Но если вы уезжаете в горы за тишиной, вам не сюда, есть другие классные отели в горах, ищите варианты. Номер мы меняли, не помогло. В общем и целом странное ощущение от отеля, как будто все норм, но нет уюта, или комфорта особенного что ли, ожидания не оправдались, мы были рады уехать. Кстати доступ к Яндексу заблокирован с местного вай фая. В остальных местах с таким не сталкивались.

Amazing staff, special thanks to Gede Karang who was super friendly, professional and provided great recommendations on activities in Amed. Loved the room decor and outdoor bathroom. Restaurant over looking the pool was very calming. Such a wonderful place that I will definitely be back to visit!

Die Lage war einfach wunderschön. Der Ausblick über den Dschungel runter zum Meer war top. Die Poolanlage sowie die Lodge/das Zimmer waren sehr sehr schön, viel Holz und Natur, das hat uns gut gefallen. Das Frühstück war auch super & den Shuttle Service vom Hotel fanden wir auch toll wenn man doch mal auch die Gegend erkunden möchte. In der Lodge ist es aber bei Weitem Schöner als unten am Strand, wir waren dort am Lipah Beach. Weil jeder das Restaurant und die Preise in den Vordergrund stellt - ja war etwas hochpreisig im Vergleich zu einem einfachen Warung, wir fanden das aber für dort angemessen und in Ordnung. Natürlich könnten die Getränke oder manche Gerichte ein bisschen günstiger ausfallen aber alles noch im Rahmen.

Das Silvester-Dinner war absolut überteuert und den Preis nicht Wert. Wir haben dieses zum Glück nicht gebucht und einfach a la carte gegessen - das würden wir bei so Dinner Angeboten ohnehin empfehlen. Das Essen war okay, hat uns nicht voll überzeugt aber für 2-3 Tage in Ordnung.

Wow! This place and everyone who works here is amazing. The service was exceptional. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The rooms were pure luxury and the pool was out of this world. La vue époustouflante et le confort des chambres

L’accès est vraiment difficile et il n’est pas possible d’accéder seul à l’hôtel, nous sommes dépendants de la navette de l’hôtel + il manque sérieusement de parasols autour de la piscine, pas assez d’ombre + le restaurant pourrait être plus qualitatif étant donné que nous sommes obligés d’y prendre tous nos repas

The ride there is to say the least an adventure, but the views are rewarding. The pool is really chill and the restaurant is quite good too. The rooms are spacious and feel luxurious. You have quite a bit of space outside too, like a couch and a bed.

Might be a curse on our vacation but the shower kept breaking everywhere. I think the cocktails could be a bit better too.

The rooms were really beautiful and unique. I loved the outside bed and the bathroom was really special! The service was very good and the restaurant had some delicious food. The pool area was beautiful.

It would have been nice if there were towels readily available at the pool and room slippers, but apart from that, the stay was lovely! The location of the hotel is a 20 minute ride away from Amed, but the shuttle down to the town now runs until 10 pm, and is very convenient.

Nous étions venus au Mathis Lodge il y a quelques années, nous avions eu un gros coup de cœur pour l établissement, la vue incroyable, le personnel adorable, la qualité des services et les magnifiques chambres, nous constatons aujourd’hui que c est toujours le cas. Tout est toujours au top, un grand merci à tous, nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

The service and of course the magnificent views! From arriving to departure the whole experience was seen thru by a great team. The rooms were beautifully decorated, felt very luxurious. A beautiful, private getaway. Small, quiet boutique hotel experience. Very appreciative of the hotel listening and actioning on our request to be near restaurant as we are an older couple. Restaurant meal prices very realistic and reasonable.

The room bathroom garden did look sad and unkept. It was the only thing about the whole room that really let it down. Restaurant meals were a bit hit & miss. Pasta was fantastic but steak was extremely tough. But dont let this deter you - it was all great!

Tout est incroyable ! La vue la chambre la salle de bain les équipements le resto le repas et leur gentillesse ! Il faut y rester plus d’un jour pour profiter pleinement ! C’est le meilleur hôtel qu’on a eu à Bali et le rapport qualité prix est top!

Nous avions le lodge familial avec piscine privée le logement était incroyable. Une superbe déco et un agencement parfait. La salle de bain en extérieur est vraiment magnifique. Les parties communes sont très belles et la piscine est incroyable et la vue superbe.

Quelques carreaux de carrelage sont à changer dans la grande et la piscine privée. La barrière de la terrasse de la piscine privée n’est pas bien fixée et est dangereuse. Les canapés extérieurs pourraient être plus propres.

Ausflüge auf eigne Faust sind etwas schwierig, da der weg zum Hotel eine kleine Herausforderung ist. Fast nur mit dem Shuttle des Hotels machbar. Dieses pendelt aber jede Stunde.

Our stay with Mathis loggen was absolutely fantastic! The houses are beautifull, walging up to the Pool is hard but thay are always there to pick you up! Special thanks to, Deken and Nintra. Also the restaurant end service is kind and with a smile thanks Darki. Overall a verry good lodge Mohamed once again thanks for everything!

This hotel room was the most comfortable I’ve stayed in Bali. The bed was amazing. The view from the room was beautiful. A very peaceful place for real relaxation. The staff were great and quick to respond to any request.

I struggled with the road and track up and around the resort, it is incredibly steep. It’s still a wonderful place but if you have any mobility issues this probably isn’t the place for you. The staff will come and collect you from you room on request. I had planned to do some trips while I was in Amed but I couldn’t face the road.

L hôtel met à disposition une navette obligatoire gratuite pour accéder au site situé en hauteur à 15 min , la route étant difficile d accès. Les activités proposées sont relativement chères , les prix sont plus compétitifs localement .

Really nice and clean. Great food. Great views. I also loved the jacuzzi. I loved that there were shuttles going into town every hour- that is the best.

The massages were really bad quality. The girls are not familiar with pressure points and deep tissue. They are just doing their usual routine of a back rub. We were paying top luxury prices for a massage in Bali so this was disappointing.

Mooi resort in de natuur

Bij ieder hotel heb je normaal gesproken het idee dat ze het beste met je voor hebben, hier hadden wij dat niet. We hadden een snorklingtour geboekt via het hotel die veel korter was dan beloofd, toen we dit aangaven werd hier niet echt iets mee gedaan. Sowieso is alles wat je via het resort boekt veel duurder dan zou moeten. Zo was de taxi rit die door het hotel werd aangeboden 2x zo duur als de taxi die we uiteindelijk hebben genomen. Daarnaast leken er vaak wat communicatieproblemen te zijn, wij denken dat dit door het gebrekkige Engels van het personeel komt, hierdoor was er veel onduidelijkheid.

The internet of the hotel is very bad, the hotel for food gives very few portions, they want to save everything, they charge an extra 21% tax and other places in Bali charge 15%, they have more expensive and exaggerated prices, they take advantage of foreign customers(VERY BAD INTERNET )
