Great stay.

Pool lights didn't work and grill was broken. But the property manager was great and gave us a working grill. Bruno was great and we enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic and quirky property perfect for a small group. The views of LA were amazing and the property itself felt secluded like you were the only people around...even though you were minutes from Hollywood and activities. Pull was perfect and the layout kept bedrooms secluded from common areas so if, like us, you have people sleeping while others are cooking, swimming, and chatting both got what they needed. Great communication from the property manager. We didn't have any issues or problems but they were proactive in reaching out just to check in.

This is a beautiful home with eclectic and lovely decor. Unfortunately it is seriously under-maintained. Outdoor patio lacks lounge chairs and has ancient tired chair cushions. The daybed is grossly damp and dirty. The bbq is rusty, dirty and doesn’t work. Old faded fake plants hang randomly. Basically the outdoor area has been neglected and it shows as well as being not very comfortable for relaxing. Indoors, the front of house windows and French doors were all locked. So no fresh air in any bedroom and no ability to create a cross breeze in the living room or kitchen. Air conditioning consists of a few fans. With temperatures in the 90s and high 80s and no window shutters or drapes we suffocated. It was increasingly hot in the house and we left a day early, exhausted and disappointed. The house furniture is full of lovely fabrics and Persian carpets. There are lots of antique pieces. But there is a strong mustiness to the air. Many drawers and cupboards were dusty. We would recommend a really thorough deep clean of this house , including all fabrics and rugs. We would recommend an experienced team clean after each guest - a day minimum, it’s a huge house. The outdoor area requires serious attention, all aspects, it is not a luxury experience out there. We’ve written a long review because there is so much potential in this beautiful property. Please give it a dedicated no holds barred clean up and upgrade of old, broken tired furniture and equipment. And we must acknowledge how approachable and helpful Bruno, property manager was with us. He was great. But most is not within his authority to change we understand.

Our stay was great! The house was lovely and clean. Nice and friendly neighborhood. The view of the city was breathtaking.

An interesting, unusual home: comfortable and exotic with a lovely tiled pool and hot tub — and panoramic views of Hollywood and beyond. Hope to return.

This is a LOVELY and unique stay that is great for families or small groups, with plenty of shared spaces and also opportunities for privacy. Art and collectibles fill every corner--even a Picasso print in the smallest bathroom!--so photographers will want to capture the house from every angle. (But you will also want to treat this home with care!) The pool and spa were flawless, and the grill master in our group cooked up a great meal on the grill. Would highly recommend!!!

We had a lovely stay at this great house! All beds were comfortable and you just can’t beat the view or the pool deck and hot tub. The pool got sun all day and that is where we spent a good chunk of our stay. Responsive host!

You stay here for the views first and foremost but you also get a mansion of a house with its own elevator along with a very inviting pool and heated SPA. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

James was so available and helpful we couldn’t have had a better time. A couple times we needed to call on him to help get the music back on and he was fast to show and so kind. We relaxed in the jacuzzi, ogled the view, found a HIDDEN ROOM, and sipped on wine and relaxed the week away. The kitchen was spacious and stocked. We were able to cook a nice big dinner on the last night. There are so many fun rooms and found items around the property you will not be disappointed! I would highly recommend this place to rent if you want to see LA from an unbelievable angle and lounge around in a place chock full of character. 10/10

The pictures don’t do the property justice, it really is stunning and the view is beautiful as well. My friends and I stayed here and we had a great time. The property owner lives next door and he was very helpful when I left my wallet in the house after our stay. This is a property you really need to see to believe, I was not expecting it to be this cool. The only thing I would recommend is more toilet paper & towels. We ran out (maybe we just couldn’t find it the extra)

The view is amazing. You stay here for the view. The house is huge with big floor to ceiling windows and an elevator which helps one to access the 4 floors. We enjoyed our stay and loved watching the sun travel across the sky from its rise behind downtown LA to its setting by the beach. Staying here is like staying in a museum. There are many unique knickknacks around, but it's a bit dusty. If you're picky, that might annoy you, but we were fine, because we came for the view. The master bedroom and bath are luxurious. The backyard area with the jacuzzi and the pool is also a highlight of this property. The ping pong table and the organ were a fun touch. We had an issue with the TV upon arrival, but the owner came over quickly and resolved it. The owner is very attentive and helpful. We needed champagne glasses and they were kind enough to accommodate us and bring some over right away,We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful creative space with an insane view

I brought my family to LA for a family reunion and had the pleasure of staying in this amazing house. It was a great place to bring friends and family to. My brother's both rented hotels for their families but spent majority of their time at our place because of the amazing views and the of course the kids loved the pool. Its a great house with an amazing location. I could stay at the house and watch the kids swim while my wife and girls could go shopping just down the hill. I would highly recommend for any type of vacation! Next family reunion the whole crew plans on booking from Josh!

Beautifully decorated 4 story medieval themed villa w/elevator We were blown away by the views from the master bedroom and top floor family room. Josh was an accommodating host. Definitely one of the best values on Homeaway/VRBO/Airbnb.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here for a week and it was amazing! We have stayed in many vacation homes but none share the same elegance as this Villa. The view is absolutely gorgeous and was probably my favorite parts of the property. When we got home I looked through our pictures and found most revolved around the views from the living room. The aesthetics of the home are amazing as well, it really feels like a California dream home with lots of space and open windows. My husband found a couch that he loved to take cat naps in during our down time. The location of the home was great too! We didn't have to deal with heavy traffic and could be secluded but also weren't far from Hollywood and Downtown. Overall I couldn't have asked for more from a vacation home, it truly was gorgeous and I would highly recommend this spot. -Barbara

From the first conversation with Josh, the property manager, you could get the sense that this whole process would be simple and stress free. He was extremely friendly, always available to answer questions, and very accommodating. When we first arrived at the house we were blown away. Pictures can't quite grasp the beauty and intricate details of the decor found throughout the house. Each room is riddled with jaw dropping pleasant surprises. From medieval swords and armor suits to old school Hollywood paintings this house is seriously something from a movie. We joked that Harry Houdini would have loved to live here. If you rent this house during a concert at the Hollywood Bowl, you can also probably catch a free show as the top of the hill behind the house overlooks this venue. The proximity to the Sunset Strip and major sites is perfect. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing weekend. You won't be disappointed.

We combined two of these Hollywood Hills homes for an excellent family luxury compound. Stunning views and centrally located for easy access to many top LA destinations. Strongly recommend for unique travel experience.

This home was absolutely delightful. It is artistically designed and very inspirational. I was able to escape the hustle and bustle of LA anytime of day to bathe in the heated pool and spa, cook in the wonderful kitchen, or have any service I can imagine brought right to my door. Oh how I love Los Angeles, and even more so when I stay at the Villa in the Sky. I will return. Hopefully soon!

House was beyond filthy. Owner was not compliant. I have 24 pages of photos that I would be happy to send you of the condition in which I found upon arrival. Was not even livable - I stayed one hour to take photos of this horrific nightmare and still have not gotten money back.

During my stay I was delighted that me and my friends could enjoy all that Los Angeles had to offer while being hidden right above the hustle and bustle in paradise. The pool was amazing, the views were more than one could wish for, and the creative ambiance was breathtaking. I will visit this home again when I have the chance to return to LA.

My wife and I along with our two teenaged girls stayed at the Villa, and had one of the best vacations of our lives. I was a little nervous renting a property sight unseen based on photographs on a website, but when we arrived were were pleasantly surprised, the house was even better than the pictures. I have meetings in LA about twice per year, and this will be were we stay from here on out. Our girls loved the hot tub and pool, and we loved the location...its right up in the Hills above the restaurants and nightlife of Sunset Strip. The property itself is amazing, there is a ton of detail in the furnishings, and the decor is beautiful. Thanks for a great experience!

The Villa was beautiful, the photos were very accurate. My wife and I stayed for one week with our five children. The kids loved the pool, and especially the elevator! The house is four stories, so the elevator was very useful when bringing in groceries and suitcases. At night, the views are even better, you are looking out over a sea of lights which stretch for many miles. The decorating was impeccable, with many beautiful pieces throughout the property. My only concern was that one of the children would damage an item, but thankfully this did not happen. There were plenty of towels, bed linens, etc. The property was very clean and well maintained. The location: if you are looking to be within a mile or so of the action, while still being able to leave the action to go home to a quiet setting, this property is perfect for you. It is a short drive down the hill to Hollywood Boulevard, Santa Monica Blvd, and Sunset. If it were only my wife and me, we could actually have walked instead. You are also very close (less than a mile) from the Hollywood Bowl, and it is a very short drive (about 3 miles) to Universal Studios and Griffith Observatory. It is close enough to Santa Monica that we actually went to the beach and the pier twice. Traffic can be an issue on the freeways, but if you are mindful of the time of day, it is not as bad as you hear (for those who have never been to Los Angeles). Josh showed us the property thoroughly, and then, most importantly, left us alone. We have had the misfortune before of staying at properties where the owner lives very close by, and is constantly coming onto the property to "check up" on things. This was not a problem with Josh, who manages several properties. He was very quick to respond to a couple of emails I sent him, but he did not "hover" and we never felt we were being scrutinized. I would recommend this property to people looking for a newer property, who want to be close to the activities, while still being able to get away when you have had your fill of the action for the day.
