What a find! The owners are so friendly and have attention to detail like no others. They lived in the flat while remodeling their home so every amenity was top notch. The bed is hard to get out of in the morning, the snacks and Italian coffee were deluxe and the views of the Carmel sky and the beautiful grounds below are spectacular. A visit to their restaurant is a MUST! Just a few blocks away. In fact, everything I put in maps was less than 15 minutes, mostly less than 10 minutes from anything you would want to do. I will stay here again! Many thanks to the owners for a tremendously enjoyable week!

Everything was perfect except for the fact that you have to climb steps for apartment access. We are elderly so it was difficult for us, but for younger and fit people it probably is not an issue. Lovely stay!! All positive.

The property is wonderful. Lydia is very friendly and welcoming but not obtrusive. The amenities were great. Had plenty of towels, coffee, blankets and dishes. The basket of goodies was an awesome addition as well. I read other reviews about the parking and was a little worried, but on arrival I was pleasantly surprised. It is reserved on-street parking. If you have a wide car it may be tough for you passenger to get out but the parking spot is right beside the driveway...very easy to let your passenger out and then pull forward to park. I especially loved that they had multicolored lights along side the parking spot. It made it so easy to find when coming home after dark (there really aren’t many street lights around Carmel)! I would highly recommend a stay at Carmel Woods! I wouldn’t hesitate to book again for a future stay! Thanks again for making our stay so enjoyable:)

The place was absolutely beautiful. Great location and there isn't anything that is missing. The owner goes above and beyond to make your stay a wonderful experience. I would go back and stay there anytime. Highly recommend!!

This property is very clean and cozy. Lydia has taken the extra effort to provide the little things that make a difference. Extra towels, snacks, water, tea, coffee, candy, pens, pencils, scissors, note pads, maps, local magazines etc.. During our stay we kept finding little things that made our stay more pleasant. You need to be mindful of the well lighted small steps as shown in the pictures when moving about inside. There are also some steep outside steps you will need to navigate with your luggage leading up to the entrance way. In my opinion the only real negative to this property is the parking. You are required to park on a busy street with a slight curve just before the parking space. You must let your passengers out first before you park as close as possible to the inside ledge to make sure you are inside the white line and not on the roadway. The property is very close to downtown Carmel with lots of places to eat and shop. It is also close to a shopping center and Monterey. Lydia greeted us upon our arrival and showed us the property and made suggestions on places to eat. If we vacation in Carmel again we will choose this property.

This was a well-situated and comfortable cozy rental. Lydia was very accessible, we texted frequently to make sure we were on the same page. She provides bottled water and loads of snacks as a routine, and a bowl of organic plums from the yard was a bonus. There’s coffee and tea for the making, and a microwave and toaster oven for heating food (eating ware and fridge provided). The only downside was that there is the sound of traffic during the day and early evening which may bother those sensitive to environmental sounds - I treated it as white noise myself, which surprised me as I AM normally one those folks.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was very clean, private and very comfortable. Lydia was pleasant and easy to communicate with. She gave us some nice recommendations for restaurants.

Pictures don’t do this place justice there is so much space in the apartment! Lydia is a wonderful host and the house is stocked with everything you need. And most importantly the bed was comfortable! Will book again.

We had a wonderful visit! Lydia is great! The bed is very comfortable! The location is amazing! We went to Big Sur as out primary destination and it was perfect! It's Central to everything you need!

This property has all the comforts of home. It is conveniently located to Carmel. Also, a short drive to Pacific Grove, Monterey and all of the peninsula. Comfortable living room area for reading, as well as separate bedroom.

The apartment is so cozy and great amenities. So close to downtown Carmel you can walk there or just a short drive to Monterey. It was a great location for our Big Sur, Pacific coast drive. Views of the ocean from the apartment too. Would definitely stay again.

Lydia is a GREAT Host. The place is very clean, easy to find and close to everything. We would stay here again when visiting the area.

Suited all our needs and comforts for a wonderful stay during the Pebble Beach Pro/Am golf tournament. Walking distance to all venues and at an affordable price. Thank you for all the hospitality.

Be sure you are on WiFi because area is very dark at night. You will need gps assistance. Also stairs might be difficult for seniors

This place is just awesome! Bigger than you would think because of the layout. The pictures on line do not do it any justice! This must be seen to believe how sweet and romantic this place really is! Lydia was very nice and even booked dinner reservations for us! We definitely will be going back here year after year!! Give this place some real consideration for a great place in a great location!!!
