A friend who has been staying at Pilgrim Cottage for many years recommended it to me. I absolutely loved the cottage, the location and everything about the week. the views from the 2nd floor sitting room are just magical. I had caravan holidays in Brixham when I was a very small child (60 years ago!) and it is still essentially the same. My son and daughter-in-law came for 2 days in the middle of the week and they fell in love with the place straight away. they brought crabbing gear with them and we all went crabbing in the harbour. They caught 132! I caught 13! Of course we put them all back in the sea, but it is such good fun, I felt like a child again. I can't recommend the cottage more highly and am booking it again for a week in February/March next year. It is also very reasonable, as holiday cottages go. If I had a slight suggestion, it would be to provided a larger casserole dish of some kind, perhaps one that can be used on the hob and then put in the oven. Apart from that, the equipment was more than adequate. As the description clearly says, this cottage is not for small children or anyone with mobility issues, as the stairs are steep and narrow, but that is a big part of its charm. I carried food up to the sitting room in the washing up bowl, which worked really well. You have to eat up there, looking at the view I had a brilliant week, thank you.
