The area is very nice. We had a bit of a problem with mosquitoes. Not sure why. Not really the house’s fault. The kitchen was nice except for the oven, which hopefully was fixed. There was some creative guess work. The arrangements of the rooms we found different. The room with the master bath has 2 sets of bunk beds. But it worked for 3 days.

Secong stay at the Happy Mullet and we had a blast. The house is located steps from the beach and the club house provided a pool. AWESOME for celebrating with the family.

This was our family’s third stay at the Happy Mullet. We keep coming back because the house always exceeds expectations. The view, outdoor spaces, cleanliness, furniture, decor, amenities and neighborhood can’t be beat. The owners are very responsive and friendly. The entire family loves it!

We hope to return to the Happy Mullet. *Great proximity to the beach. Just a short walk over the dunes to nice sandy beach. There's a sand bar that made it great for shallow water play. The water was clear and blue (for Galveston). *Extremely well-equipped property saved us from hauling our own chairs, umbrella, wagon, crib and high-chair, and much, much more. The hosts showed great attention to details in providing almost everything for guests. *Very quiet neighborhood and beach area in September. The beach was nearly empty most of the week. *Good floor plan for 6 adults and a toddler but could have easily accommodated more kids in the fun bunk room. *We loved the spacious porches and spent lots of time outside. *Host was quick to respond to questions and very accommodating. Dan was a pleasure to work with throughout the process!

For 17 years, our girls group has rented a home in Galveston each year. Happy Mullet was comfortable and well stocked to meet all our needs. The owners were great and very responsive. Couldn’t ask for a better weekend. Thanks Vivian and Dan!

Spacious and wonderful! Great view of ocean. Looks like a designer did the interior, much nicer than what you would normally expect from a beach house. Five star!

The Happy Mullet was an outstanding choice for our family’s vacation. We stayed two consecutive weeks and the location and privacy of the beach in front was great. Rarely did the beach seem crowded and you could set up wherever you wanted. We all agreed that the location in Pointe West was great and away from the crowds that stay closer to town ( but downtown is easily accessible too). The owners of the property were great in answering our questions and responded very quickly. The house is stocked with everything you need (beach items, canopy, umbrellas, boogie boards and floats). Inside there was a good assortment of kitchen items which was great as we cooked almost every day. The only negative, if I am nitpicking, was the Pointe West pools are just okay. No restaurants or snack bar, it’s it’s basically just a big pool and lazy river. We purchased the wrist bands for access, but probably wouldn’t do that again if we would have known the set up. Overall, it was a great stay and the house is “as-advertised”. We would definitely stay again!

The House & location to the beach was good. Nicely furnished as pictured. Bike riding in the evening was fun & the garage full of beach chairs, umbrella, toys very nice! 10 definitely fills it up, but 2 large balconies gives more room. Pointe West is far out, but we went in to town for a late lunch one day. Our daughter & 2 kids bought the $25 pool pass-$100 & that was not worth it. Area has no shade, the restaurant is not open & lazy river is very small. 2 tubs didn’t drain well, needed more dish towels,& smaller coffee cups. We would rent again!! Thank you

Such a great property in a beautiful location. We loved the back porches, well equipped kitchen, and proximity to the beach. Even with the holiday weekend there was always plenty of space for our family to spread out and play.

This beautiful property is right on the beach. It has absolutely everything you could possibly need. Just pack your clothes and some sunscreen. The place was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is outfitted with everything you could possible need to cook meals at the property, including basics like oils, vinegars, seasonings, etc. The house is beautifully furnished and the beds were super comfy. The kids game room was amazing. It even had a arcade-style cabinet game system. My adult children were thrilled. The property has three bedrooms and two baths upstairs and a bedroom and bath downstairs which is a great set-up for families. Every imaginable beach need is supplied-towels, chairs, toys, boards, umbrella, bikes. No need to bring anything! The unobstructed view from the balconies was so enjoyable that even the rainy days we had were pleasant. I can't say enough good things about The Happy Mullet!

Everything as described! Beach is a short walk. PAC man was a hit with the adults! Kitchen has enough plates and silverware to feed an army! Great community. Neighbors saved our hamburgers on the grill when tgey just gave us some charcoal even tho are charcoal wouldn’t light( even tho the packaging said it would!)

Yes, if like vacations where you can truly leave your worries behind and more…..this is the PLACE. We were here for 3 nights with adults and 2 toddlers. Packing up for a vacation with kids let alone the beach can be exhausting which is why this place is an utopia. The description of their available items to borrow is accurate - beach chairs that are new and not rusty , plenty of kids beach toys, bikes, kites that are already assembled and ready to fly, inflatables for the incredible lazy River pool at the Sunset beach, and umbrella! The kitchen was stocked with condiments and there was snacks in the kitchen to welcome us! There was also bug spray in case you forgot. You can leave beach towels at home because they had an ample supply of quality towels and laundry detergent. This place makes packing effortless. In addition to the clean and modern interior, there was spacious room for all us to sit in the living room to watch TV or eat outside the dining table. Who needs to go to a restaurant with a water front view when you can get carry out for dinner and have a leisurely private dinner on the patio?. Plus the beach was an easy walk and extremely quiet since we are far from the crowds. The two pools are a short drive away and a kid’s dream. The owners were very easy to work with also!! No hassle or frustrations with these owners. As I said, you can leave your worries behind and MORE when you stay at the Happy Mullet. You can pack less and enjoy more in this paradise!

House was comfortable and well appointed- the hosts did a great job setting it up and keep it ready for guests. Location was nice too. It was a perfect stay for our group!

Our family of 6 adults and 4 young children stayed here over New Years holiday. It was a great home, clean and spacious with everything we needed. The kids loved the beach toys and bikes that the property had, and the adults loved the chairs! The easy access to the beach was absolutely perfect for us.

The beach house was in excellent shape and very important to me clean. The host was accommodating and quick to action as my Grandaughter left student I’d and visa and had to be mailed quickly.

Our Happy Mullet visit had us wishing we had more time booked. The house was in amazing for our family of 9 and 2 dogs. All rooms were perfectly furnished for an active family. We would highly recommend The Happy Mullet.

The Happy Mullet is a beautiful, clean home. The view is unbeatable, best in the neighborhood, and has been my family’s favorite home we’ve stayed in since visiting Pointe West ever year for the past handful of years. We’ll definitely be back!

This property is a gem! We had a group of 8 women, and the house was perfect: Well equipped kitchen, plenty of comfortable beds, lovely furnishings and well maintained. Hosts were very responsive as well.

We had a great time! House is very well stocked. The boogie boards we are huge hit with the kids. The listing says “we have a few sand toys” but there were TONS of sand toys, we brought some but definitely didn’t need them. We had 2 families including 6 kids ages 3-8 and we had plenty of space and everyone had a comfortable bed. The kids loved the bunk room and it was very spacious which gave them lots of room to play. The only thing to note is that the mosquitoes are insane. I have lived in Texas my whole life and I’m not new to mosquitoes but these were HUGE super mutant island mosquitoes that were absolutely savage and there were a zillion of them. You need strong bug spray all over to make the beach walk or you will be eaten alive. Bring LOTS of bug spray! But the house was great, super clean and we had a wonderful time.

This is our second time staying at this property. Owners are wonderful to work with and communication is great! They have it completely stocked with everything you need!! Our kids used the bikes and boogie boards. We also used the grill and firepit. You won’t regret staying here!!

The house itself is exactly as described and is in the perfect location. You are far enough away from the crowded beaches but still close enough to get back into Galveston for a dinner out. The owners were so quick to respond to any questions from the initial booking and all along the way. It did rain a few mornings but there was plenty to do in the house(let me know if you beat my score on Ms. Pacman!) Aside from that, all of our time was spent at the beach which could not have been any closer. Anything that you needed for the beach was right there in the garage. My main focus is always a great beach and this location was the best. Thanks for providing us with an excellent family vacation. We look forward to a return trip!
