We had a nice stay at this property. It was clean, the host was responsive, and we had no problems at all. Just a note, though: besides pots/pans, there are not many kitchen options for cooking (such as mixing bowls, simple things like olive oil, salt/pepper, etc...). We knew to bring our own crock pot, but we had to go and buy some things to be able to cook meals. Also, it says it can sleep 10, but we barely had enough bedding for 8. As we had 8 in our party this wasn’t an issue for us, just something for others to keep in mind. Finally, more seating in the main room in front of the tv would be great. It is as advertised, but difficult for 8 people to comfortably watch tv. All in all, these are small things and I’m merely stating them to help future renters. I would recommend this property.

Very happy with our stay. The location is perfect near both the Owner’s Club and Marina. The house is very clean and the owner communicates quickly for any questions. The three floors of living were perfect for our group since some of us go to bed early and get up early and some are opposite! We rented kayaks at the marina and had a great time. Also recommend the Sunday Farmer’s Market at the Owner’s Club! A really great stay and would recommend!

We had another great stay this year and are especially appreciative to Dan who accommodated us with a few “special requests” to make our stay was absolutely perfect!! The house was clean and ready for our group when we arrived early, which was a huge help for all of us!! We made so many amazing memories!!!

This house was thoughtfully designed and appointed, so that the whole family felt welcome. They even provided a highchair and pack-n-play, which were much appreciated. Everything was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The home was beautiful as was the area. Bedrooms and bathrooms are of good size. We slept 9 comfortably. Hoping to return soon!!

Overall, our stay at this unique cabin was a favorable one. Beautiful area! The only suggestion I would suggest is to make the kitchen more efficient and add some needed items, such as salt and pepper, cutting boards, large bowls, some plastic plates, bowls, etc for young children to use. Kitchen storage could be reconfigured. One cupboard full of coffee mugs?? Pantry filled with pots and pans?? Not a criticism, only suggestions for multiple generation families using the home.

Clean and spacious with a great location. The kitchen is well equipped. Bring everything except salt and pepper. The pool passes are a nice perk. Plenty of parking and a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay!

Our families met up for a fun weekend of cousin time! The house was great, very clean with two beautiful master baths and plenty of options for sleeping arrangements. The owners club was a hit with the kids- between the game room and the pools we had to drag them away. Lots of great shopping and eating downtown. Owner recommended Hoof It Galena (hiking with goats) which was so much fun and will be a lifelong memory for the kids. Overall amazing stay!

Was nice for large group with 4 bedrooms and three bathrooms- but saw and found a few spiders -the basement bedroom with twin beds once opened window had huge spider between the screen and glass- yikes

Everything was good. We all enjoyed ourselves like the size of the place but there isn’t enough storage for the food people bring the pots pans and silverware should be doubled and it would’ve been perfect.

Dan was fantastic, and his cabin was gorgeous!

Pictures don’t do it justice- house is very lovely, sunny and spacious. Beds very comfortable, good quality pillows, fireplace kept great room cozy. Great location, a 3 minute drive from the Owners Club with indoor pool. Only minor quibbles: could use more towels, a couple boot trays, and pool table could use servicing to make it more level. TV’s, jacuzzi bath, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster worked great. Highly recommend.

We were six of us for a girls weekend. Upon getting there we were pleasantly surprised at how big the house really was!! The house was super comfy and VERY clean! Dan got back to me immediately when we had a question about the house and area. The open concept made sure that if you were in the kitchen you could still be able to be on the conversation! There were six girls and there was plenty of space to sleep as well as having the three full size bathrooms was a dream especially for six women trying to get ready at the same time!!! The fireplace just added to the amount of coziness to the house!! We’re starting to plan next year’s trip already!!!!

My sisters and I spent the weekend in Galena and had a great time in Dan's log cabin home. We cooked, watched movies, played board games and had many laughs! The home is spacious and plenty of bathrooms. Great location to all the amenities!

Nice weekend away with 7 adults. Plenty of room and a nice comfortable space.

We stayed with our closest friends for our son’s wedding. It was perfect, just like the wedding and reception.

Every year we get together with another family and go somewhere with our kids. Top priorities: enough space & swimming, this property had both! The Owner's Club was easy to get to from where our cabin was and it was really nice! The game room was a bonus too. The area itself was a little odd and less than welcoming (maybe those that stay in the Galena Territory don't like kids) but we just kept to ourselves after the first day of learning the hard way. The territory is close to Dubuque which was nice to venture too as well as Chestnut Mountain. All in all I would stay again down the road because the cabin and host were amazing!

Ideal place to meld family and friends in the heart of Galena. Everything close by and convenient, beautiful scenery, excellent dining and delicious food! The property is beautiful and plenty of space to spread out or hang out together. Loved sitting g on the front porch in the evenings! We had a wonderful time and would absolutely stay here again. Thanks Dan for your kind hospitality and opening your home to us!
