Cute little cottage with lots within walking distance! Great that you can fully enclose the yard for pets and really appreciate the owners getting us the bikes that were still in storage due to the cool weather. Would definitely stay again:)

Background: Family of four with an eleven and nine year old plus small dog. Stayed for spring break to ski at Mt Bachelor and visit family. Location: really convenient where we could walk to breweries, food trucks, and cafe and breakfast spots. Small Park and river was a few blocks nearby for both walking the dog and for kids to play on the play structure. House is on the west side of the city to shave a little bit of time driving to mount bachelor. House: On the smaller side but all you really need as each room between bedrooms, kitchen and living room fit well for what it was intended for. Well furnished and stylishly decorated. Kids loved the bunk beds! Kitchen was a dated but had everything needed. We didn’t cook or eat in much with so much good food around…. Hot tub worked well and back and fenced in yard was great for the dog. Owners: communication was really excellent prior to and during our stay. The owner proactively asked about the newly installed master bed and we let her know it was on the firm side. She said we were the second or third renter that had the same comment and luckily they had kept the previous bed that most people really liked. She came over later that day to switch out the bed! And it was much better. Overall great place which contributed to a relaxing and enjoyable vacation!

I needed a few days to unwind in a cozy spot and this was it. From being greeted on my arrival by a friendly neighborhood cat, to the clean interior, well stocked and decorated space, and the amazing hot tub, I felt comfortable and at ease my whole stay. I highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at Bluebird Cottage. Everything was as expected, and the house was charming.

We loved this little cottage and our visit to Bend. We have come to play and visit the Bend area several times now and this is one of the best accommodations we have rented. The home was comfortable and thoughtfully equipped with most everything. Great yard and rental for our dogs, they were very safe and comfortable. The hot tub is very nice, a bonus. The location is superb, walking distance to so much... we walked to great restaurants, dog parks, the river and the amphitheater for a concert. It was awesome to walk to where we wanted to be. Bend is a great city to walk about. We did not have in person contact with the owners, but they were available and attentive to our needs when called upon or queried. Wonderful hospitable people. Over all it was a fantastic 4 night stay, our only lament, that it seemed too short. We look forward to returning again.

The owner went above and beyond to welcome us. The home was comfortable and eclectic. The yard is fenced. So if you bring a pup you can feel more secure about potty breaks. I almost forgot to mention: hottub!!!!

The property is adorable! The house is small but fit perfectly with our needs for a week of enjoying all that Bend has to offer. Great location, walking/biking distance to restaurants, coffe shops, Newport Avenue Market and the river. Our dogs loved running around the fenced in yard. The only complaint is that the mattress in the single bedroom is absolutely torturous. It’s worse than bad, it has zero support, you roll into the middle and you can feel every spring. Casper mattresses at Costco are about $500.

The location can't be beat, and the cottage had the necessities. It was clean, the hot tub was awesome, the bathroom was very well stocked. The only thing was that the master bed was a little saggy in the middle so my husband and I were rolling towards each other all night.

Been waiting for months for this trip and the comfy house and walkable location were ideal.

We enjoyed our stay in this classic mill house walking distance from the heart of Bend and a short drive to cross country skiing. Manager was prompt and helpful in communication, and house was exceptionally well-stocked in the kitchen (even had spices and coffee for us to use). Bed was comfortable and house was very clean.

Husband and I spent a couple nights at the Blue Bird Cottage and LOVED it. Simple enough to relax with our pups and yet had everything we needed. Loved the hot tub in the evenings after a beautiful walk and dinner in town. Quick enough to grab a morning jog along the river before we headed out to some lakes/hikes for the day. Super clean, very cute and great for our fur babies, as well. Some wonderful restaurants nearby!! We look forward to visiting again!

My husband and I stayed at the Bluebird Cottage and found it to be very clean, comfortable, well-equipped and convenient. We were able to walk to restaurants and it was great to have the use of the two bikes in order to explore the area. The owner was very personable and had a huge notebook of things to do, places to eat and places to go. We would recommend the Bluebird Cottage to our friends and we will stay there again when we visit Bend.

Excellent location. Close to town, breweries, and river. The property is clean and very thoughtfully maintained. The owner has extra bikes for riding into town, floats, and stocks the kitchen with little essentials that you might forget to bring. The deck in back is peaceful and our dogs enjoyed the yard. Wifi and satellite available. It is a quaint home, not modern and fancy, but very comfortable and was perfect for us. Owner is next door and available if needed but never intrusive. We would definely stay here again.

The bluebird cottage is ideally located near the river, and close to the mountains. I really enjoyed being able to walk directly from the cottage to most of the places in Bend we wanted to go, including several excellent restaurants, brew-pubs, and the river park. It is an older house which maintains its character and charm. We were two adults and two children, and we found the cabin's layout to be convenient for our family, affording space and privacy for the four of us. I would definitely return.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay with our pup at Bluebird cottage. The cottage itself is cute and comfortable - we loved having breakfast on the patio in the morning! It was a lot of fun just strolling around the neighborhood, which is delightful, with lots of cute homes and several great brewpubs, restaurants, and markets. It's also close to downtown and parks along the river. The owners went the extra mile for us, leaving the hot tub on at our request even though it was past the season. They take good care of their guests! We’ll definitely be recommending Bluebird to any friends looking for a place to stay in Bend.

I will start off by saying that my wife and I have stayed in a lot of VRBOs over the years and in fact have a vacation rental of our own in the City of Mt Shasta CA. Of all of them, this is the favorite. When we pull into the drive it is as if a spell is cast and the concerns of the practical work a day world fade and disappear. The neighborhood is a very respectable older part of the city reminiscent of earlier more gentile times. The house is maybe late 1950s vintage - very clean and well appointed with a great kitchen which is large enough to seat 6 people if needed. Tons of character and a good fenced back yard and deck. Bluebird Cottage is bordered on the northeast by the Deschutes River Park and downtown Bend itself - both within easy walking distance. And if you are a skier the road leading to Mt. Bachelor is at the end of Davenport. The owner/manager Lisa is next door and available for anything needed. I would recommend Bluebird cottage to anyone except perhaps the pool side bar set who require the latest decor, stainless steel appliances granite counter tops etc. Last summer we couldn't get into Bluebird as it was booked for the time we needed. The place we got was fine but lacked character and ambiance. Bluebird has ambience in spades - great place. JR

My husband and I and our golden retreiver have stayed in this amazing little getaway cottage several times and in several seasons. This place has everything a family or just a couple would need for a short little getaway or an extended stay. The extra large kitchen has plenty of cookware/utensils, microwave; all the essentials and more. The fully fenced front and back yard was so nice for our pooch; plenty of grass and trees to and things to explore. Townie bikes are available to ride to any of the very close by restaurants, markets, breweries, river, parks, etc., or everything is within walking distance as well. The master bed is one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in; fluffy and cozy. Very quiet neighborhood at night too. Everything is very clean and comfortable. Plenty of extra ammenities; Hot Tub, townie bikes, games for kids, WiFi, extra large TV, great bunk beds. We really appreciated the binder the owner made with all kinds of information for Bend. This is our go-to vacation rental every time we come to Bend.

We love the bluebird house! The location is perfect as we can walk or ride bikes to wherever we want to go. The house is super cute & well equipped. My husband and I stayed here for two nights with his parents (visiting from NY) and we all really enjoyed Bluebird Cottage. You can't beat the price and we really appreciated the attention to detail the owner provides. I'll just name a few: large fluffy dog bed, high quality towels and linens, first aid supplies in medicine cabinet, plenty of coffee filters, handy iPod/iPad unit for playing music, all kinds of kitchen utensils/tools and quality dishes/glasses/silverware, full rack of spices and herbs, I could go on... It was so nice to have all these small yet meaningful amenities. The only thing I would like to note that you might want to watch out for is if you're tall and planning to sleep in the second bedroom. The bed is a full size on the bottom bunk, so if you're used to a queen or king, then it will feel a bit short, but it's comfortable and again, the linens are very nice.

We have probably stayed in this awesome little home 10 times and love it even more each time we visit! It is so practical, nicely organized, and easy to find! The owner is SO FLEXIBLE and friendly! Everything is comfortable and the kitchen has all we need for a great experience. We loved the new red leather chairs in the living room and always appreciate the warm heat in Winter. The neighborhood is our favorite in the Bend area, as we can walk almost anywhere in just a few minutes! My last trek there with girlfriends was so relaxing, as we did art almost the entire weekend...and when we awoke just a tad too late on Sunday, the owner was kind enough to let us have an extra hour to get the house cleaned and emptied!

We stayed here for my husband's 40th birthday celebration. It was a perfect home base for us to launch our adventures from, and very accommodating of the dogs. We could walk to downtown & enjoyed the 10 Barrel Brewery just down the street. The hot tub was perfect, and we enjoyed having the big kitchen & living room to hang out in. We'll try to stay here again, its just our style.
