Spa facilities and fabulous breakfast were stand out pluses for this hotel, together with the staff who were incredibly friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and a spa bath in the room was a real treat at the end of a day's walking if you didn't have time to get down to the main spa facilities. Bed was very firm which meant no back trouble for me during the stay.

The hotel is on busy main road and can be a little noisy at times during the day, although night time was quiet so no problem sleeping.

Shame there isn’t much room for loungers around the pool.

Great location; lots of comfy sofas to relax in the evening(quiet enough to read). Exceptionally friendly staff especially at breakfast, fabulous not to queue at breakfast buffet and be waited on. Enough parking whatever time of day. Great sized room with plenty of storage. Lovely spa and nice and warm by the pool.

Needs a few more loungers if possible around the pool, not a fan of the swing seat.

The staff were very friendly and professional. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty and served by lovely staff. We will be cack soon with friends to enjoy again. Thank you very much.

The decor of our room could be modernised.

Loved the fact that we actually relaxed. The entire way through the hotel and spa is relaxing and from the second you enter to leaving it’s so calming. The staff in every area are wonderful, kind, professional and accommodating. The spa was clean and lovely that it wasn’t ever over crowded because its residents only. I wish other spas would learn. The beds were unbelievably comfy and the shower extremely powerful I loved it!! Loved our room too. The entire ambience of the whole place was just marvellous.

I loved 99% of it but if I could have changed one thing I would have had hot scrambled eggs as they did come cold. I didn’t wish to say as I’d already asked to move tables. Also with all of the beautiful breakfast options on offer to start it felt a little rushed and my nature is to take my time and eat not order when I’m eating toast (partly a little burnt) and cereal still. Also if the tables were to have less items on it would be a much easier experience it felt very cluttered. Otherwise it was lovely and we will still come again.

The spa was unreal. Nice attentive staff and lovely rooms, would definitely stay again :)

Upgraded on arrival. The room was excellent, very comfortable and spacious. Superb location and the whole hotel is spotlessly clean. Staff were almost universally excellent, the restaurant staff were particularly good. Good food with an excellent choice

The room was a bit of a trek but well worth it when you got there. Some of the prices were a little elevated and the spa was a little bit of a process to get in - would have preferred access just by the room key instead of having to book access with reception. Hotel was not full so not a problem but may be a problem when the hotel is busier

Stargazer West Room, Pool Area, Evening Meals and breakfast. Staff were brilliant.

No complaints however originally we were put in the Woodside Room which was lovely but cold so we were offered another room which was amazing, no complaints really at all.

This is a big Victorian building (I think) which whilst not a criticism, obviously doesn't have the ambience of a small boutique hotel. Nothing else!

The breakfast was excellent. There was a lot of choice of food. The spa area was fantastic and very relaxing. The staff were very friendly and polite.

When we arrived on the Saturday we struggled to find a place to park the car.

The staff were superb. Breakfast was great and the hotel is in a good location for exploring the lakes

There is a car parking space available for each room. Location in centre of Ambleside, shops, restaurants, bars all within a couple of minutes walk. Spa. Outside heated jacuzzi. Lots of walks straight from Hotel. Bus stop right outside hotel.

It was a well presented Breakfast with plenty of choice, Evening Meal Menu very good and varied selection on offer and Spa was very clean and well kept the changing rooms are a tad on the small side.

The listing for the room we booked was inaccurate about the room size and bedding, but the staff at the hotel did solve the problem, and we ended up in the room we thought we had booked. The restaurant was really good.

There was a bit of hassle getting the room that was described on Booking.com.

The supplies in our bedroom eg the bottled water were not replenished on the second day and we had to buy from the bar. Breakfast buffet very congested as it is in the walkway. The coffee at breakfast was very strong; very limited lunch and restaurant menus. To pay for bottled water when we are spending so much for the room was disappointing.

We loved the hote & thel spa was relaxing,if any negative would be fridge wasn't working on arrival but staff who made our bed got it on we noticed ,and the door to belcony wasn't wide enough bit of a squeeze but staff very friendly food was brilliant and very hot and tasty.
