Nice and roomy, friendly staff, safe gated complex for solo travellers. Super comfy bed and soft towels, great shower pressure and strong aircon.

The pool was dirty and needed more water in it, which was so disappointing after a long hot drive from Brisbane. Long hair on the floor in the bathroom, tiny old fridge with a freezer compartment so iced over it was not even big enough for a single Esky block. Although the place is comfortable, there’s nothing about it that could constitute four stars. Very expensive for what it is.

The afternoon we arrived we were given a room at the very rear of the property, which was dark, not clean and had a balcony that overlooked a corrugated iron building. The male manager found another room for us, he was courteous and apologetic.

It's called Coffee House Motel but the cafe was CLOSED till 9 January. It was the main reason we booked there. I tried to get a refund but was told only Head Office, as in Southern Cross Motel Group, could provide a refund. We were promised to be contacted that day, our second of three-night stay. No one from the hotel or head office contacted us. Even after I took the time and effort to put our case in writing to both, no reply from either. What pathetic customer service. The female manager was quite unsympathetic to our complaints. She said it wasn't worth opening the cafe over Christmas/New Year. This was not stated on any third party booking sites, the motel website or the Group's site. In fact the group site boasts about having a cafe/restaurant in all their properties.
