The Guest House is surrounded by a cool and lush forest, at the end of a quiet residential street filled with beautiful white villas. It is a paradise of flowers, trees, monkeys and all manners of birds. We came for 2 days, but ended up staying 10 days !!! That should say it all. We felt welcomed and cared for by our host, Ananda and his lovely wife. The 2nd floor AC family room was large with giant wall-to-wall windows and a private balcony overlooking the jungle canopy. My husband and I relaxed there, watching the parrots at sunset. The cool mountain breeze meant we weren't bothered by mosquitos, and all 4 of us slept like babies. Ananda provided all transport to Kandy, even Sigiriya. Best of all, he expertly helped us to organize doctor's appointments, covid-19 booster shots...anything we needed! We enjoyed hikes to tea plantations nearby, and we took all 3 meals per day at the guest house, which was easy for us as a family and delicious, with a changing menu everyday. This place was the peaceful rest we needed after travelling for a month, and it was a great jumping off point for Sigiriya and/or Ella. Highly recommend Hanthana Holiday Rooms! It is a hidden oasis -- only 5min drive from the center of town -- but removed from the hustle and bustle of Kandy city.

We enjoyed our stay in Kandy a lot. The room was spacious and clean. The host was incredibly friendy and helpful. We ate dinner and breakfast twice here and it was very tasty and plenty. The accomodation is located in the hills at a 5 minute drive from the city center of Kandy and the trainstation. We would like to come back one day!

Beautiful homestay located at the edge of the forrest with big separate guestrooms and shared kitchen/ living area. Big balcony to enjoy the sun and the jungle sounds with a coffee in the morning. Super clean and no mosquitos at all! Ananda and his wife were lovely hosts taking care of us all the time. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner can be ordered. Laudry service for 700rs (1-5kg) and scooter rental 1000rs/day (cheapest option in Kandy). The modern homestay is located a bit out of the city center of Kandy. But a Tuktuk ride to the center is just about 10 min for 250-300rs (=1,50€). Highly recommended! Best and thanks for the hospitality Luisa & Lukas

The hosts are very friendly and took care of us in corona times. He helped by calling other hotels and informed us about all the gov. decision. Would defently recommed and come back at all times while being in Kandy!

The hosts were really lovely and helpful. We were picked up from the station which was really helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was decent.
