Lovely cottage with great views... Good base for exploring, shops not too far, co op fish n chips etc, supermarkets in barrow about 5 miles away.... hope to go back

Cosy little cottage in a very quite location with excellent views

No welcome pack. After travelling for 8 hours we then had to go back out to find a shop to buy milk t-bags and sugar before we could have a drink. Cottage could do with a lick of paint to freshen up although was very clean.

Road to property needs improving

Loved the location. Stunning views. Birds coming to the feeders were wonderful to watch. Well equipped kitchen

Very bad driveway. Keep gounding the car on certain parts where the track could do with some maintanance. Very little water pressure so shower was more of a trickle than a shower but great deep bath

The view was wonderful - across the estuary and out to sea, as well as up into the mountains! The outside patio overlooks fields and has space for you to sit out and enjoy the view. As keen bird watchers we loved that there were a variety of bird feeders which the local birds were clearly used to and we regularly had up to 10 - 15 birds on the feeders, including woodpeckers. Indoors the living room was very comfortable, as was the bed with it's feather quilt and pillows - so luxurious! We were also lucky with the weather and caught some beautiful sunsets. Best place to eat: The Wilsons at Torver - a bit of a drive away, but absolutely worth it! Fab food and great real ales :-)

1. The drive-way up to the cottage was very rough terrain for our little Aygo and we were worried about the underside of the car being damaged - so a 4 x 4 would be advisable if you're thinking of stopping here. 2. The shower - which we believe was fed from a local stream (and we loved that the house had its own supply of water fresh from the mountains), was a little weak, but it served it's purpose, just about!
