Breakfast is provided. It's at a great location, a lot of eataries on the same street. The ramen shop right next door is a hidden gem (for lunch)! The kueh chap stall opens in the evening on the same street is good too. Wayne is friendly and helpful during our stay at Check In Lodge.

The walls and floor on the section where our room is seem a little thin, we can hear it when people walk pass the corridor.

The host was very friendly, and also the fellow travellers staying at the lodge.

Showers not very clean. Room didnt smell very fresh, smelled moist. Only aircon, no fan in the room.

Its unfortunate that the pool was broken when we arrived, but the Manager has suggested a temporary solution that is reasonable.

It started with a problem with our room, so we got 2 options to choose instead of the booked one. So it was nice that we got options. The host, is very kind and helpful, the floors are clean and our bed was also clean. the toilets for what I’ve seen in Kuching, where good working and clean. the room was big enough to unpack and pack a backpack. also it was not in the centrum but a litle on the outskirts, nonetheless a good location. in the morning from 0700 we got breakfast, simple but good and enough!

you pay for the pool, but its since (as the host said) November broken. You could fix it or simply say it on the booking sites. the bed is hard, now i know this is a personal thing if you like it semi soft, soft or hard. but these where hard with a capital personally not my favorite. the two things that could be increased. - cleanness and equipment of the bathroom. the bathroom was full of hair (might be bad luck). but the shower head was a small and there was not much water output, also it was cold in the evening because of the small boiler that couldn’t keep up. - *Fire prevention or fighting equipment*, I’ve seen no fire alarms, what I’ve seen is a “fire hose” that was dating from the 1700’s and had a big tear in the middle. if fire would take place for whatever reason, there is no prevention or fighting it.

Able to accommodate us, since we were a little bit earlier than expected. Friendly staff that show us around. Located in the city.

Not that I don't like, but the pool area should reopen. It looks cute, would give that extra points 😉.

The shower wall could have used a good scrub.

The room was quite clean, the breakfast was simple but good and fresh, location was on a quite road only 10 minutes walk from the city centre.

When taking a shower the water was flooding the whole bathroom rather than just flooding in the direction of the drain.

initially i booked this lodge because it had a pool... but whn i came by the property i was upset to know that the pool is not in service haha.

Location is nice, close to the waterfront and lots of restaurants. Room was good size.

It's not a very comfortable place, the street is extremely loud. The breakfast was really limited- everything was gone already around 9am and the person sitting in reception didn't really care. All of that i could cope with, but the big green fungus on the wall was a bit too much. I know it's the tropics, but it's still possible to do something with that. This one even had a structure, not a very nice view just next to the bed. The price was not that low that it could be blamed for that. They also don't provide any sheet/ dunna to cover the bed, only one small blanket for 2 people, not sure if washed after every guest.

Check in Lodge is a very nice hostel located in a good area! The rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable. There is a nice small kitchen where you can enjoy some included breakfast. The best thing about our stay was the host, Herbert. He was very helpful to us and gave us nice tips! He even helped us book activities and gave us many local recommendations. We intended to stay 1 night, but we stayed for 5 :) price/quality is perfect!

Wonderful place to stay. Herbert is a super caring host, always down for a nice chat and helps with recommendations. The rooms and the hostel was very clean. I enjoyed the breakfast too. We had free ground coffee (no instant), cereals, bread, milk and bananas. Also some crackers in case you need a snack. Generally the kitchen was well equipped. Highly appreciated it. Thank you!!
