It's a lovely property with a lot of character. Location is fantastic with great bus connections across Edinburgh.

Maybe worth rethinking guidance re waste ? Guidance is "take your waste away". When we arrived both outside bins were full. I put recycling bin out having checked the council website re dates. That worked fine. There was nowhere outside the property to dispose of other waste - we ended up taking away in car which is less than ideal.

Everything had been thought of! So comfy. Great location.

Very stylish interior and spotlessly clean, very welcoming and relaxing. Loved the fact that everything was on the ground floor. Ideal for a short break and well placed for buses into town. Local shops and cafes also very good and close at hand. We had a most enjoyable time.

Access by car and parking a little awkward because the street was so narrow. Had hoped for slightly easier access by car as one of our party had mobility issues. A walk-in shower would also have been ideal but appreciate that there wasn't enough space.

The cottage was ideally placed for exploring Edinburgh and we loved it. Although we didn’t actually spend much time in Lindean cottage because we were up and off out it was very well equipped and comfortable. It had lots of lovely touches which made it a special and unique place to stay.

We struggled a bit with the shower because it wobbled and then tended to flood the floor.

It is not cottage, it is Ground Level Flat, it's extremely noisy in morning when child starts run in First Level Flat, thus you are not able to rest after New Year celebration :( Flat was not clean, there are dust under beds and a lot of dirty plates and dishes in kitchen. Some people wrote about warm welcome and nice chimney, but logs basket was empty :(. And even do not try to unload your luggage near cottage - it is very difficult to return back to road because street is very narrow. Real place where you will be able to park is in 200 meters, near park. Flat is 40 mins walk from center, it is quite far. This place is extremely overprized !

Lindean cottage is very authentic place, where you feel yourself more a citizen than visitor of Edinburgh. There are a lot of place to sleep for a family or a company and on top of it spacious kitchen/living room with a fireplace. Dry wood to make fire was attached. Every little details tells us that owners love to have guests in their charming house.

We loved the decor, fireplace and brick feature in the bathroom.

The beds were a little uncomfortable

Very helpful host. Attractive property with good mix of contemporary and traditional style. Outside the main tourist area, but it is perfectly possible to walk to the castle and it is also a good base from which to explore Leith, which is an interesting mix of 19th century Edinburgh and modern developments. Free on-street parking is a bonus.

The bed in the master bedroom is not the most comfortable.

Lovely property with everything we needed for our stay. Walking distance to the harbour and bus ride to town. Such a comfortable bed! Warm and cosy evenings with the log fire lit but nice outdoor space for catching the sun too. Daniela was a perfect host. We would definitely book again.

The property was perfect for us but the location was a bit far if you are not a Walker. However public transportation is easily accessible.

Would definitely recommend it. Enjoyable visit in a good location. Only the parking was stressful trying to get a spot nearby.

Due to roadworks on Leith Walk and around the Leith area the on-street parking was very difficult

Incredibly well designed spaces with off the scale charm. Cosy is about the size of it. Very well located for bars and restaurants in Leith. Also, only a 20 minute walk from Edinburgh city centre. Just a cool little place.

Nothing really. We did have an issue which was just bad luck. Daniela called us as we were on route to let us know that the properties boiler had broken down and needed a new part that wouldn’t be fitted before we would arrive. What she did was arrange for use of one of her other properties around the corner so that I could get a shower before going out for a meal that night. She really did go above and beyond in my eyes. The lack of hot water didn’t affect anything on reflection. I was a bit disappointed driving up but had no need to be. Thanks for being so helpful and sorting out a shower for me Daniela P.S. The Roseleaf was very nice and the food was quality and reasonably priced. We had a great night.

Beautifully furnished and well equipped. Had lots of character and felt very welcoming. Great location for visiting friends or family in Leith, but a bus ride into the centre of Edinburgh. Thank you to the owner for allowing us to park our bicycles in the apartment. We would very happily stay again.

This was a lovely property, but the neighbour’s outside space and barbecue was right outside the ground floor bedroom window. Access by car (we cycled) is very limited.

There was no private parking. Parking is on the road outside or near the property if there is space which is limited.

We had a fab weekend and loved the cottage. It was perfect for our family - 2 adults, 2 kids and our dog. The accommodation was well equipped and tastefully decorated. It had a lovely ambience and the garden was so cute. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept so well. We know Edinburgh really well and loved the location as it’s easy to access Portobello and drive to North Berwick. We had dinner at the Shore Bar which is a short walk, food delicious and then lunch at The Beach House in Portobello sitting outside. Again highly recommended. The Links was a short walk to exercise our dog. The colonies, the area where the cottage is located, has a fab vibe. Great base for exploring Edinburgh. We will definitely be back as we loved this place. The owners kept in touch and we didn’t need to contact them as everything was spot on! I highly recommend and thank you for such a great stay.

Very nice little cottage with a great location. Quiet neighbourhood and on street parking (pl note - the best is to reverse in - using pavement on your right - it is very narrow street) Cottage is very clean a cosy. I usually struggle to sleep at a new place, but here I slept like a baby 👶 Our host Daniela was very pleasant and prompt with her responses. Bus connection to town centre was great. Town centre also has a plenty of private parking which needs to be pre-booked, if you feel like not using a public transport. Overal - we loved Scotland - weather was really great - sunny 🌞 and people were generally very kind and helpful 😀 We will be def comming back.

Quirky and cosy and great location. Loved the wood burner.
