Clean comfortable room. Room on ground floor near front door which might not be ideal for everyone. Breakfast was good the one time I had it. Quiet area but walkable to restaurants etc and buses if you didn't want to use the car.

Heated towel rail not working and could have had more towels.

Welcoming check in, very smooth process. the room was comfy and spotlessly clean. our breakfast was lovely and service was personal and friendly. the location is great, a short walk to Westbourne which has good places to eat and drink.

The beds were the so comfy. The best I have slept in. The room and ensuite were were very clean. Breakfast was excellent, The owners were friendly and welcoming and there was good parking. The location was ideal for us.

I would have liked decaffeinated coffee in the room and water and biscuits for each day of our stay but it would not put me off going back again.

Our rooms were lovely and clean. Owners very attentive, lovely breakfast each morning. Short walk to the beach and village where there were a couple of lovely restaurants. Central to get to places of interest.

I would have liked a sitting room for in the evening to sit and relax/read. I don’t like sitting on my bed to watch tv.

Wonderful location a short walk from Westbourne beach, very friendly owners and great service. Very nice room and facilities and great breakfast, plus amble parking and easy access. What more could you want?

I had an excellent 7-night stay at Southernhay with Nelia and Darren, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Southernhay is remarkable value for this excellent part of Bournemouth, at the top of Alum Chine and near many bus routes (but quiet, safe and very pleasant). Very clean, with a top-class cooked breakfast at sensible times (0830–0930), and a friendly, relaxing atmosphere. I think there were a number of regulars and returning guests, which is always a good sign!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautifully clean, great location very quiet and peaceful at night and parking facilities excellent. The owners really could not do enough for us, we will definitely stay here again. The mattress was a little hard and lumpy on the main bed but overall we would highly recommend to anyone who wants great value for money and a really great and relaxing experience. :-)

Just the mattress although slept ok.

The breakfast had plenty of choice and was well cooked the tables were laid out well. The room was nicely decorated and had plenty of storage space plus the usual television .and drinks and two comfortable chairs. The room was very clean and had a waste bin. The on suite was also clean and tidy.

The chairs in the dining room were hard to sit on could have done with padded chairs. There was no clock/radio in our room had to use my own travel clock and rely on the television for news or music.
