The location and the main house were great. The grandkids enjoyed the beach and the pool.

Sally's place was just fantastic - a beautiful house on a beautiful beach, close (but not too close) to downtown Nassau. We spent our family Christmas there and everyone loved it. The kitchen was remarkably well provisioned, which was essential for preparing the Christmas meals and baked goods. Sally was extremely helpful as well, getting us tickets to Junkanoo and so forth.

What a great Villa with an unbelievable location. Sally, Tiffany and Chef Margie made the stay seamless w/ Chef prepared meals especially Thanksgiving that made our stay even more special to a bunch of foodies. Baha Mar was just a walk down the beach. Swimming with the pigs, snorkeling, golf and exploring the island made the week fly by. Thanks Rich. You have a wonderful place! The Nelsons

We had 18 total people (8 adults and 10 kids under 10) and the house was perfect for what we needed. It has an amazing pool, perfect for small kids, and right on the water! Every day and night we got to look at the amazing view and perfect sunsets. We also walked to Baha Mar easily on the beach a couple of the days for dinner and the water park. The kayaks and water tubes on-site were perfect! The kids took them out exploring every day to find sting rays, fish and the beautiful clear waters. The outdoor dining and couches is where we lived always; perfect and big enough to fit the kids for dinner and then for the adults. Rooms were great and all had en-suite bathrooms. There were two family rooms, which worked for having an adults and kids space. There was a guest house with two bedrooms, bath, kitchen and living room, but for our group it didn’t work because we wanted to all be in one place, but it seemed perfect for families with teens or a spot for a family to set up camp. Sally was so accommodating to have multiple communications to prepare for the trip. She was helpful with providing recommendations for a chef, boat captain, transportation etc. she was so accessible and it made our trip seamless. We had an amazing trip and made such amazing memories!!!

Property is as described! Great pool with incredible views. Great beach - had a lot of fun with the paddle boards and snorkel gear! Convenient location - both Sally and Tiffanie were awesome to work with ! We hired Chef Margie to come in and cook two nights for us- she was incredible. Great food; great service and reasonably priced! While we did not use him; check out sam at west bay adventures for a 1/2 day or full day boat excursion. This should not replace the Power boats excursion. - it was fantastic - but Sam will take you some places that are pretty cool as well!! We did take advantage of Sally’s rental car people- they delivered and picked it up. It was nice to have a vehicle. Grocery store runs, going out to dinner; etc. Our group was 9 people and we had more than enough room!! Thanks Sally!!

The view is amazing ! We loved the outside area around the pool. Two of our showers didn’t work but maintenance came out and fixed one of them. The property was in great location. Manager was very nice.

We absolutely loved our time at this home. Before the trip the host provided us with lots of information from excursion ideas and recommendations to the current Covid travel requirements. The location is ideal and how can you beat the gorgeous view of the ocean right off the back patio? It felt like we had the beach pretty much to ourselves. We loved paddle boarding, snorkeling, and playing in the sand right out the back gate. We cooked most of our meals at the house and appreciated the well stocked kitchen. With all the little details and thought that has gone into the home it felt like a home away from home. We loved our time here!

They recommend a fantastic boat company (Live2Fish) and even got a service to come do covid test at the house so all my guests had paperwork to fly home. GREAT experience.

We absolutely loved our stay! The property was beautiful and Sally and Denise were amazing!

Absolutely an amazingly, stunningly beautiful property. The view off the balcony and private deck is one you only see in magazines & post cards. Our regret is that the main bedroom doesn't have a screen on the sliding doors to the private balcony, so my husband & I could fall asleep to the sound of the crashing waves, but besides that - we slept w/the curtains drawn so we could be awakened by the gorgeous light blue & teal water just 100 yards from the window. We had 2 families staying here - total of 8-of us - 4-teenagers & 4-adults - ranging from 14 years old & up. There was so much to do at the house from ping-pong; super-sized Jenga; Kayaking; paddle-boarding; walking or jogging on the beach or just relaxing in the warm & comfortable pool. Sally and the local Property Mgr. Denise were fantastic and expeditious when a few minor issues were encountered. Their recommended Taxi Service - were stellar in service from the moment they picked us up at the airport, to the quick run to the market and island tour. They were sooooo knowledgeable, personable and had such wonderful personalities and sense of humor that we embraced them as one of our own family members. This property is so close to everything - it took us about 20 mins to get to the Atlantis and 10 mins w/out traffic to the downtown area & 10 mins to Baja Mar - as I said - the PERFECT place to stay. When we visited Atlantis and Baja Mar and saw the hundreds & hundreds of people there w/all the clamor, chaotic conversations and all the hustle & bustle - we were ALL very appreciative of what we had & were going back to - serenity, peacefulness, exquisiteness and a pristine beach waiting for us to enjoy. It was truly bitter-sweet leaving Shangri-La and we're hoping to visit our newly-found "home-away from-home" again so very soon. DO NOT HESITATE - BOOK THIS HOME NOW!!! Location was half way from town to Baha Mar. pool right outside your door and ocean was 10 yards from your deck. We had a party of 13 and was enough space for a couple more. It was just what we wanted!

The property manager was very helpful in making our trip a success. Sally helped arrange car rental and gave us information on places to go. This home is beautiful as well as very accommodating. We highly recommend and will definitely return.

We absolutely loved Shangri-la!! It was heaven on earth. The house and property are even better in person than the pictures. Sally made everything so easy, from check-in to transportation and everything in between. The location of the house is great. Close to so many things! But honestly we didn’t even want to leave the property! We were traveling with a multigenerational group with ages ranging from 4-74 and there was room for everyone! The pool was great. The kids never wanted to get out unless to go down to the beach. We were able to see turtles, rays and lots of fish right off shore! We loved everything about this house. Plus the kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed! This place was great. The whole family can’t stop talking about going back already!

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Shangri La! The house was beautiful, clean and spacious, easily accommodating our group of eight women celebrating 50th birthdays. We really enjoyed the pool and comfortable outdoor seating (with sun and shade available) which overlooked the beach and bay. The expansive view of the bay was amazing. Having the kayak and paddle board was a plus, and we saw sea turtles and stingrays in the bay. The kitchen amenities were plentiful which we appreciated--we stopped at a supermarket on the way from the airport to the house to load up on food and supplies. We hired a chef to prepare a dinner for us one evening which was excellent. The rental logistics were extremely easy, thanks to Sue and the local property manager. We hope to return for another visit!

9 of us (grandparents, kids and grandkids) spent 5 great days at Shangri La. The whole process--from booking to arrival to departure was very organized and made things easy. Communication was excellent. The house itself was perfect. Plenty of room for everyone/everything. The pool/beach combo pleased everyone, especially the 4 grandkids ages 9-12. Great fun with kayak and paddle board. Saw rays, conch, starfish, and a variety of fish. Other than a day trip to Atlantis and an obligatory souvenir-hunting trip downtown to the straw market, we had no need/desire to leave the house/beach. This was possible due to the amazing house, and the fact that we hired a chef to cook breakfast and dinner each day. Chef Perry Sweeting and his crew were amazing. The menu was planned in advance but changes could be made each day depending on what was wanted. Chef Sweeting prepared wonderful fish, shrimp, lobster, and chicken, etc..with many sides and desserts. For breakfast it was eggs any way you like, fruit, bacon/sausage, pancakes, etc..they also clean up everything! He will also shop for you. I can not recommend him highly enough, especially with a big crowd. Due to allergies, he cooked GLUTEN FREE no problem and was very conscious about avoiding cross contamination. Not having to deal with getting everyone ready to go out for meals, deciding where to eat, etc.. allowed us to relax and take advantage of the pool/beach all day/evening. He is well known to the folks at Shangri La and they can give you his contact information. Any return to the Bahamas will be spent at this wonderful house with Chef Sweeting serving it up. My only suggestion for the house--as others have mentioned--is to replace the bunk bed in the guest house with a unit that includes a safe top bunk. We didn't need it but would not use the top bunk that is there as rail is not high enough. Thanks for making this wonderful house available!!

We had a fantastic stay at Shangri La as a group of 12 women for a long weekend getaway. The house had everything we could need and was extremely comfortable for all 12 of us. Sue and her team was super helpful getting us set up and the whole process was a breeze! We would definitely go back. :)

Shangri La was amazing. It had plenty of room for all 12 guys in our crowd. The pool, deck, and view was just what we were looking for. We took a cab to Atlantis each night (about 15 minutes) for the casino, and it was really easy. The casino up the street had closed down. Beds, room accomadations were extremely spacious and comfortable. We cooked out a few nights at the house and went out a few nights, would recommend both. Sue was very gracious with her time in answering any questions we had. Definitely plan on returning! Thanks, Sue!

This is our second visit to Nassau and our second time at this home. This place is the best. Only minutes from the airport and many activities. Three couples stayed for 5 days and we all agreed, we wished we'd stayed longer! The bedrooms are spacious, beautifully appointed and we slept like babies. This visit we went on the Booze Cruise - well worth it. What a hoot! Live music, booze (duh) and a stop on a small island to do some swimming. Some in our group also went on a snorkel cruise which they said was really fun and close by. We were able to walk along the beach to the casino, lots of fun even if you don't gamble. The city bus stop is within walking distance and easy to maneuver. All in all, this place is the best - beachside pool, incredible views, outdoor seating/dining, huge kitchen, excellent media room, comfortable bedding, beautiful bathrooms and perfect location. We will definitely be back!

We stayed here with friends for my husband's 40th birthday and it was wonderful. Beautiful house and beach and the location was great. If we ever get back to Nassau, we'd definitely stay here again!

We had a group of 11 women who traveled for a fun vacation outing together and we all had a BLAST. The house was beyond our expectations. It is well maintained, beautiful pool and INCREDIBLE view. The bedrooms in the house all have an en suite bathroom which is really nice for privacy and an house full of women. Everything we could have wanted was there and then some. Short bus ride into town, it was super accessible for a day out in downtown, but frankly we hated leaving the house! The groundskeeper was also so helpful and nice that he helped buy us fresh local snapper and fileted it and marinated it for us, all we had to do was cook it, and it was DELICIOUS! Everyone that we dealt with in regards to the house from booking, to arrival, to staying and to departing was extremely nice and professional. Highly recommend to all and have already discussed returning with our significant others because it was heart breaking to leave such an amazing and beautiful property.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Shangri La! The main house is exactly as described - a beautiful home with all of the necessary amenities. The kitchen had everything with plenty of room and seating. We loved the comfortable outdoor seating - perfect overlooking a spectacular stretch of beach with calm, beautiful water. It's also an easy, close ride to downtown Nassau and Paradise Island. We explored Nassau and it is a great town! You will definitely love your stay here and we highly recommend it!

Our family stayed at Shangri-La to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. We had 9 people including a 18 mo and a 6 year old. The house is everything described and more. The pool, theater room, everything was great. We had a slight issue with the freezer, but the property managers were right on it and it was resolved immediately. We did relocate some smaller decorative household items to higher ground due to the baby, but the house overall was very kid friendly. right on the beach and the main drive in town made it easy to drive to everything. We loved the late night swims in the pool to the moonlight and watching the morning sunrise while eating breakfast on the patio. Overall, a fantastic location and worth every penny.

Our family of 7 stayed at Shangri-La from 12/27/14 to 1/3/15. We stayed in the Main House only because that more than accommodated us, thus we didn't the need the additional guest house. The Main House had ample room. We used all four bedrooms and all 4 1/2 bathrooms. We didn't use the office and barely used the TV/Media Room. The rooms were generally fairly large and the house was generally in great condition. The local property management staff was very nice, accommodating, and eager to help. The house was well-equipped with pretty much everything we needed. In general, we very much enjoyed our stay and if we went back to Nassau, we would consider staying there again. The only thing we would prefer over Shangri-La would be a house in a more secluded spot and not on a main road. We had a few minor issues but almost all of them were addressed right away. Overall, we had a wonderful time!

Stayed at Shangri La a couple weeks ago and it was amazing! House is everything you see in the pictures and more. Looking out the windows all you see is blue water, the pool and patio furniture provided a great place to relax. The property managers are very responsive and helped out with a ton of our planning - I would definitely recommend doing a catered dinner at the house! Everything worked great, easy to get taxis, easy walk down the beach to casino, can rent jet skis from right down the beach, the television room (movie theater style!) was great, full office to get some work done if you need to... Feel like so many good things hard to even keep track of them all. I will 100% recommend this house to friends and would stay here again on my next trip.

My girl friends and I just returned from a weekend at Shangri-La and have already spoken with the owner about renting the property again next year - it's THAT great! The house really is even better than the pictures and it is very well appointed. You feel like royalty the moment you step inside. The house is well stocked with the sort of things you don't want to have to think about picking up on your way in from the airport (e.g., toilet paper, coffee filters). In addition to sending us a wealth of information before our trip, the owners also have a HUGE binder full of information on anything and everything you could possibly think to do, experience or need during your stay. The main house is laid out exceptionally well such that there are water views from almost every room (with the exception of one bedroom) and each bedroom has it's own bath. Unfortunately for our group, only 7 of the 11 of us who were supposed to be there actually made it (thanks to Winter Storm Rex causing flight cancellations across the mid-Atlantic), so we had PLENTY of room. I think we still would have been very comfortable had everyone been able to make it - we didn't even set foot in the guest house after our initial tour! The kitchen is fantastic for groups wanting to cook together. And the dining room is superb. We also loved watching Olympics coverage in the theater room! The outdoor space is amazing - words can't describe it! We hardly left the house because we so enjoyed lounging by the pool, having meals at the large table out back and walking along the beautiful (and very calm) beach). The on-site property manager, Kyla, was lovely! She gave us a very thorough introduction to the house and made herself available for anything we needed (we didn't need a thing though!). We did note a couple minor things that we hope will be changed next time we stay at Shangri-La: (1) The master bedroom balcony door was missing a screened door. Not a big deal in and of itself, but because we wanted to hear the ocean roaring at night, we slept with the door open and ended up being an all-night buffet for mosquitoes. Should be an easy fix. (2) We could only get one of the burners on the outdoor grill going. Could have been user error but we were really looking forward to grilling out. A new grill would be a nice addition! (3) In spite of trying to space out our showers, it seemed there was never enough hot water. Not a huge deal since it was warm outside, but noticeable.

Our time in Nassau was great. But staying at Shangri La was truly amazing! The house exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect place to relax and spend time with friends. Everyone kept commenting on how perfect the house was for our group. Sue gave us recommendations for anything you could ever want to do with your group during our stay. With her help we had a great experience with our snorkel guide (private boat just for our group) and the chef we had come to the house for our last night. The taxi drivers were very welcoming and helpful during our stay as well, we felt extremely safe. We truly had an amazing time, fantastic memories and can't wait to go back!

We had the time of our lives at the Shangri La. The consensus is that this was one of the best if not the best vacation my family has ever taken. We were thoroughly impressed with the property and loved the views of the beach especially the sunsets. The decor and furnishings were all perfect. We had everything we needed to store and prepare meals. We shopped at Super Value and made a few trips returning over bought items and replacing them with needed items. I'm glad they were accommodating because we made a few calculation errors. It was really nice to eat together under the ample spaced veranda by the pool over looking the beach. It was the highlight of the trip. We enjoyed the property so much that we spent most of our time there opting NOT to explore the island as much as we planned because no one wanted to leave. We were content just lounging around and relaxing. We also loved the surround sound "throughout the house" including out on the veranda and pool area. That is a great amenity and should be added to the amenities list. My iPod is full of a great variety of music from jazz to hip hop so I plugged it in and everyone was satisfied and appreciated the variety. (Bring your loaded iPod/iPhone) The few times we ventured out we visited The Fish Fry (twice, Twin Bros and oh Andros both were delectable), the hot and steamy Straw Market (an unusual experience and sometimes annoying with all the attempts to get you to buy from "my shop" but we made great deals), The Atlantis (aquarium, casino, shops, and we even caught a comedy show), we jet-skied, and some visited the public beach down the way for variety. The only thing that could use improvement would be to the furnishings in the guest cottage bedrooms. They need to be upgraded a bit but its no big deal- the beds worked for sleeping but compared to the main house bedrooms these have subpar furnishings. The full size bed was ok! and the top bunk bed mattress was way to high for a child to sleep on as the mattress is above the railing. We didn't use it so it worked for us but if you are counting it as a sleeping space be aware. They may replace mattress so that its not as high in the future but this trip is was too high for use and unsafe for child to sleep on. These are minor downsides to the property and almost too petty to mention but I think its helpful especially if you plan to use the bed. If you rent this house you won't be disappointed!!
