La habitación en medio de la selva era muy encantadora, todo el ambiente y toda la tranquilidad. El desayuno fantástico en un entorno muy agradable, al igual que todo el servicio y las ayudas y comodidades que nos dieron.

Everything was perfect. We love the location in the middle of jungle. Breakfast was delicious and really big. Room was really clean and beatuful. The host can speak english and he is also able to arrange you pick up, and guide you around Sigiriya. We recommend this acomodation with all 10!

The cottages are surrounded by nature and you can feel the host takes care of that. This clearly was the best accommodation during our 3 weeks Sri Lanka Trip, not just because of the room, but also because of the fantastic host Sajith and his beautiful family. We enjoyed great homemade food in a unique environment and they allowed us doing a cooking class with Sajith‘s parents in their kitchen. They provided us with everything we needed with great care. We highly recommend staying with this fantastic family when going to Sigiriya.

Amazing stay- Sajith is an amazing host who guided as around the stay to a great view point near the lake. Rooms were amazing and very clean. Breakfast was great, very delicious and we regretted not having dinner there. We would for sure have stayed another night if our schedule would have allowed, one night was not enough! My luggage was delayed and delivered in the middle of the night: Sajith helped us with calling the driver and the airline to see where everything was in local language which I think is just great customer service and super attentive. He even took care of everything while the luggage was delivered in the midst of the night. Thanks so much Sajith & family!

Sajith was super friendly and welcoming. Took us on a walk though the jungle to an amazing view spot and lake! The room was super clean and private and the patio looked out into the jungle! Breakie was delicious also. Thank you again Sajith & family! Highly recommend 😃

Sajith is a very kind an caring person. Always trying to give 100% for his guests. He gave us a free private tour through the jungle with an amazing view of the Lion Rock. The rooms were clean and included a warm shower. Breakfast was extreamely tasty and more than enough. We also had a dinner near the campfire with a delicious Rice and Curry cooked by his mother. Moreover Sajith arranged us a very nice Safari Tour. All in all an incredible experience!

The greatest surprise and definitely the most unique and wholesome stay of my mixed stays (5 star hotel to homestay) in Sri Lanka. I wish I could have stayed here longer, a place like this gives meaning to traveling! - Walking distance from Pidurangula and Sigiriya rock (nice hike!); - Bus stop directly at the main road. Frequent, easy and super fast to Dambulla; - Beautiful hikes around the property; - Spacious and fresh room with high ceilings, double glass door to your own terrace (a lot of natural light during the day + good pair of curtains), super big bathroom and comfy huge shower. All super clean; - The food! Breakfast super royal and most delicious rice and curry served for dinner; - WiFi works perfect, way better than in most hotels I’ve been to in Sri Lanka; - Amazing surroundings, a true treasure in the jungle yet super close to the main road; - Swimming lake, safe and stunning views on Sigiriya rock; - Sajith is very knowledgeable, interesting, respectful, a good soul! Present on all the right moments without being intrusive, made my stay unforgettable! Over all completely exceeded expectations, thank you a million times.

Such an amazing welcoming at Grand freedom, this family is very friendly. The guy gave us a lot of information and make us discovered the area of the hostel. The breakfast and the room was truly amazing. This is a really peaceful place in the nature.

Amazing from start to finish, owners are so friendly and kind. When we arrived we was given fresh coconuts. Spacious clean room with comfy clean beds. The owner will do everything to make you feel welcomed he even took us to a viewpoint close by!

The best stay we’ve since we started travelling, Sajith is amazing! so knowledgeable and a great host! he has a better understanding of good service in hospitality than some “fancy” hotels in London I’ve been to. We had fresh coconuts on arrival! flowers and towel art on the bed without any extra cost or request! food incredible we ate breakfast and dinner here every day Sajith showed us the lake and we have a private tour through the jungle couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Wounderful quiet location in the middle of the jungle near Lion Rock(Sirigiya). The rice and curry is great and the breakfast pleantyful. The owner is really nice and puts his heart into his homestay, he offered us a tour to the nearby lake which was very informative. We had an wild elephant visiting the homestay during the early morning hours, which made it a special event.

Our stay was really nice. The room/ House was clean and very comfy. Our Host was very friendly and showed us the lake. On top he organized a private safari for us in the region. But the very best was the breakfast, best breakfast during our whole Sri Lanka trip! Thankyou so much!!

This place is magical. It has a very special aura. The family, Sanjit and his mom&dad, are very good people, putting a lot of work and great care in every detail - from the flower decoration in the room, to the fire in the evening in their little restaurant hut to the delicious and balanced rice and curry, home cooked by the mom! The room is clean and has high quality sheets and pillows, and the large window opens to the jungle garden, you are immersed in light, green and animal sounds. The family is deeply rooted in the area and can recommend places and people for everything you want. We, for example, did a safari tour with Sanjit’s friend and he was very friendly and patient and made sure we had a great experience. We truly could not have asked for more. Thank you for this beautiful stay. Be happy!

It’s fair to say that this place was one of the highlights of our trip in Sri Lanka. Located in a beautiful jungle, it feels so remote and authentic. The home itself is stunning: super spacious, nicely decorated and with all the amenities you would need. Sajith and his family made it even more special; very lovely and kind people who made us feel like home. Sajith’s mum is also an amazing chef, her special made dinner is a must try! Thank you Sajith for all the help and we’ll be back!

great location, true homestay experience. the owner was fantastic and gave us lots of information about the area and personal tours around the area at either no cost or a small charge (fuel). we ate both night if our stay here and the food was beautiful. would highly recommend!

I would have liked to be a writer so I could lay out in words the magnificence of the experience we lived at Grand Freedom. Everything exceeded our expectations and much more! Sajith even took us on a personalized trip in the jungle and thought us so much about the plants and animals that surrounded us during our 2 days stay. I cannot finish this review without talking about the food that his mother prepared for us that I would like to rate 11/10. Everything was 11/10 at all moments.

The whole experience was the best stay we ever had

Very nice a cozy place. The rooms are big and make you feel comfortable. You have a private bathroom and a small little terrace. Everything was clean and good. The breakfast was very delicious and alot. We would have liked to stay a bit longer

It's a bit far from town, but if you have a scooter, bike or use the bus then it's fine

After traveling through Sri Lanka for 3 weeks this was the best place. It's such a beautiful location located in the forest. You have your own chalet which is pretty big, nice and clean with your own little terasse where you can whatch and listen to the sounds of the animals. We also had an amazing breakfast. The host ist very friendly and showed us the beautiful sorrounding. We can highly recommend staying in this guest house. Sigiriya is also a beautiful place and we are very sad leaving so soon. The nature is amazing

These two bungalows, hidden in the beginnings of the forest, are a gem, and made more so by the exceptional warmth of the welcome and kind attention from the owners, which ranged from the beautifully presented (and tasty!) fireside dinners to taking me on walks in the surroundings and to see the sunrise from Pidurangala rock, True Sri Lankan hospitality, and a gorgeous location, with the sounds of the forest to lull you to sleep. Highly recommended.

Bedsheets and towels could do with replacement as a little bit faded and one or two tears but this is very minor and did not detract whatsoever from the enjoyment I got from my stay here.

This accomodation is truly a hidden gem near the jungle. 2 very clean and super lovely bungalows. The family and especially Sajith is so welcoming. He also showed us around the area were we could spot wild elephants. The food his mom cooks for breakfast and dinner is outstandingly good (and much). We were so lucky someone recommended Grand Freedom to us. Can't get any better ;)

This place was one of the highlights of our stay in Sri Lanka. Sajith and his family went out of their way to ensure we felt welcomed and had everything we needed. We were especially lucky to be invited to be part of their New Year celebrations which was an amazing experience. A little out of the centre which was perfect for us as the main town is rather like a tourist strip. We had a bonfire lit dinner (every night), incredible food cooked by Mamma and Sajith kindly took us to his local (private) rock temple for meditation with his monk and also a nearby lake for sunset. Endless hot water and modern spacious rooms. Value for money is incredible and would recommend this place to anyone. We even saw a wild elephant and her baby on our first night walking by the end of the garden! We will definitely stay again when we come back to Sri Lanka, thank you so much for the most wonderful stay!
