Good historic location.
Staff are nice, but are rushed off their feet. While we were there, there seemed to be relatively few people working at the hotel, resulting in overworked staff. Props to the staff, particularly the Scottish lady who seemed to be doing everything around the bar!
Stayed in room on third floor, which happened to be above the kitchen. Rumbling noise from fan for a large part of the day with a strong smell of cooking oil.
Toilet was quite small ... not too sure why.
The breakfast was quite disappointing, with basic items not available.
For the evening meal, we were seated in the bar and not in the restaurant. Apparently the restaurant was fully booked despite being practically empty -- something about being set for breakfast service. The bar tables are not really large enough for a dinner of more than two people.
Parking fee of £8.50 per day was, we felt, rather steep.
We feel this hotel is not up to the standard expected of a DoubleTree.

Everything else. Noisy room, housekeeping missed our room, I had to chase along the corridor. paid for latte and got a flat white, salt and pepper put in the wrong containers, hardly any staff,

A great stay at the Hilton. Superb room and great location. Staff were friendly and the hotel had everything we needed. Parking on site and just a stones throw away from the Centre. I will definitely be returning

Clean room, nice breakfast and close to the town centre.
Ordering drinks at the bar was chaotic. Some of the draft drinks weren’t available, the ones that were had to be changed. No matching glasses for the drinks we ordered. Actually felt sorry for the young girl serving as she looked like a fish out of water.
We also got stuck in the lift which was very frightening. We had to press the alarm and communicate with staff by shouting through the doors!

Choice in restaurant poor. Breakfast was good but little problems like plates too hot to hold and no napkins to hold them with. No small plates for toast or small containers for jam.

The location is excellent and it was very handy having access to EV chargers in the car park. You do have to pay for parking on top of the room charge but this was very reasonable for a Saturday night on Shakespeare's birth/deathday weekend. An iron and ironing board in the room was handy.
The room was very noisy. We could hear a generator a lot of the time and we must also have been above the toilets for the bar as we regularly heard hand dryers too. There was no fridge in the room and - scarily - there were bare live wires where the fridge would previously have been, which was very dangerous.

Property was ideally situated and had plenty of on site parking. Rooms were large and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely.

Main reason for my favourable response was the excellent breakfast. The rooms are rather dull but clean and perfectly comfortable.
No real problems. The check-in was a bit casual (waiting a while for someone to appear) as was the check-out (delayed by a long phone conversation, eventually paused long enough to take our room keys).

Great location, quiet at night and plenty of parking. Staff were lovely and had time to talk, especially the gentleman at the bar.
Water only given on arrival. For the cost expected new bottles each day and more treats in the room. Other hotels we have stayed in have given more in the way of drinks and snacks.

The room was large, lovely bed and good quality products in the bathroom, including hair conditioner.😊 We also liked the tea making facilities going away in a cupboard. The location is quiet and it is easy to park.
Breakfast was a disappointment. 😢Our biggest complaint was the tea. There are two nice coffee machines but no boiling water on tap. Instead the hot water was in a flask, so far from boiling, and making the quality of the tea virtually undrinkable. To be honest it reminded me of poor conference facilities.
The sausages and bacon were also undercooked.

The cleanliness and size of room. The room equipment. The bathroom cleanliness.
My wife got some unexpected charges, after she was told that there was nothing extra to pay when we checked out. We had not bought anything else at the hotel or had a car to be charged for at the car park as we travelled with friends who had paid for their car separately. My wife didn't need this hassle of sorting it out on the phone afterwards.
