Good location so long as you are a heavy sleeper as the ferries make a lot of noise, we were ok with that and forewarned. Good breakfast.

The hotel said you had to be in your room by 11.30 as they close then and don’t give you any access. We got back at 10.40 and it was already locked. Had to wait for ages whilst the lady who worked at the ferry terminal very kindly helped us to track down the son’s owner to give us access. Quite ridiculous that you are on a curfew on holiday!!

Lovely friendly hotel and brilliant restaurant next door. Owners were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fab, and the room was large, airy and comfortable (and air conditioned ) Restaurant is just round the corner and one of the best in Varenna.

The staff was absolutely outstanding, made you feel like family. Perfect location easy walk from train station and right by ferry dock. Clean and comfortable & very large room with view of lake. Great hot & cold variety for breakfast, eggs cooked to order.

A hotel was in a great location, right by the ferry to other small towns on the lake, yet with the windows closed it was quiet from the people boarding the ferry. Beautiful views, comfortable and cheery rooms, friendly and responsible family-owned staff. Luigi was friendly and responsive from the time I made reservations from the U.S. through the visit. Breakfasts were wonderful, and they accommodate gluten free if you let them know in advance of your stay. Though the elevator was small (one person with 2-3 luggage), I was glad we didn’t have to lug our bags up the stairs! My favorite accommodation on our whole 10-day visit to Europe!

the staff were so friendly and accommodating. they bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. upon arrival they reserved a prime table for us at their restaurant. Additionally, the Varenna train station was closed due to a landslide on the tracks. the staff arranged for a taxi transport to take us to Lecco so we could catch our originally scheduled train. Not to mention the property is beautiful and PERFECTLY located for hopping around lake Como.

The room was spacious and clean, the breakfast was delicious. Special thanks to the hotel staff, they made the stay very comfortable. A thousand times regretted that after that we checked into a hotel in Bellagio

The location was good, very close to the train station , in front of ferry station and walking distance from downtown. Breakfast was excellent, fresh made eggs to the taste, very good coffee and very good service.

Great staff, great location and fantastic breakfast

The leader of the hotel is a brilliant person. Kind, helpful, talkative, a charming Italian woman :) The rooms are big enough, and have a beautiful lake-view. The harbour is next to the hotel, which makes everything easy. We'll come back with piccolo Pandito:).

Perfect location for us. Very nice staff. Plant-based yoghurt for breakfast.

There were no proper curtains in the windows. Nobody could see in the room, so it’s not a privacy issue. It’s just really bright in the morning and you can’t block the light without curtains. There was a lot of dust on the bed side tables and on the phone (that didn’t work when I tried calling the reception). No sound proofing. I could hear everything people were talking in another room.

We stayed in room 25 and were so pleased with it and everything about this hotel. The views of the lake were spectacular and the hotel staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. We arrived by train and departed by ferry, so the location could not have been better for us. Our stay was in mid-October so there were fewer dining options but also fewer people. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is gorgeous and in such an excellent location. We had a lake view room with a beautiful little balcony overlooking the lake where you could watch passerby. The ferry terminal is directly opposite the hotel making it easy to visit other towns in Lake Como and the train station is also within walking distance. Varenna town is a short walk with lots of lovely restaurants to choose from. Breakfast each morning was perfect, we had a lovely selection of continental breakfast items to choose from and the coffee was delicious. If I return to Varenna in the future I will 100% be back!
