Very good location. The hostel has a cool design.

The privacy is great but the pods get so hot. It didn't feel very welcoming.

The only good thing about this YHA was the location! In the city center so quite convenient for supermarket shopping or shop for food!

For the normal YHA backpacker this one was definitely NOT up to standard! Very small room with very tiny heater! We were so cold in the night+ the bedding was very dirty! I can smell weird smell & see the pillow cases was very dirty! My eyes was itchy after one night sleep on the bed!!☹️...we both can't wait to leave this backpacker as soon as possible!!!😑 I wouldn't come back here again and do NOT recommended! ☹️

Sheets didn’t seem fresh but it was okay

Reception was very easy to work with. They left my room key in a lock box when I arrived late and call me a cab.

The bathroom was very cold. Only one oil column heater for a large room. No lift so had to carrier luggage up the stairs.

Very compact but comfortable Pods. Plenty of privacy. Excellent communal areas.

Some hooks to hang a few personal things on by the pods.

the capsule beds are amazing and very nice for budget trip. facilities are clean and people are nice

Staff was good when we entered.

Existing staff/tenants that reside on site. Had their curtains wide open. Walked past 1 room that looked like she had been living their for years. Things piled up in the room and had her pants down and around her ankles. Keep your curtains closed as this is not a good look for new people coming into stay. Our beds were terrible. Springs poking into our bodies, every time i moved i could hear the spings in the bed pinging. Top of the shower hood was dirty and their was no spoons to stir our cup of coffee in our room. It was to fare walking distance to the main shops, pubs eatery.

Excellent hostel, everything you could need. Great location convenient for Intercity bus. Supermarkets nearby. Walks to thermal river pools, along Waikato River, Huka Falls. Sleeping pods comfortable and private. Kitchen had plenty of refrigeration and storage space. Cooking facilities were never crowded.

Some minor noise issues with moving stuff around in wooden sleeping pods, and annoyingly noisy bathroom door in the room, but overall nothing to complain about.

all the staff and other backpackers were so friendly it was such a social space outside in the courtyard. there was also lots of suggestions of free things to do which was super helpful

one tiny issue was there were limited bathrooms for those without on-suite

Room is a decent size and the pod with bed in was very good as there was room at side to put your things.. you do however have to travel across the garden for the toilet in the middle of night.. which I could see being a issue in the winter months

Pod beds provided good privacy and beds were comfy. Loved the garden area outside to chill in the sun. Kitchen was big with lots of food storage lockers and fridge space. Laundry facility on site. There were some shared bathrooms which were decently maintained but it wasn’t made very well know that there was also an en suite bathroom in most of the rooms as well! Hostel dog ☺️

Kitchen was tricky to use at peak times but it is a busy hostel so it’s to be expected. Could do with a revamp of some of the kitchen equipment. There is very minimal security as no one seems to look the sliding doors to the rooms, but this is not the hostel management fault. There was a party with outside guests there during my stay which I didn’t mind, but people were talking outside the rooms for a long time at 3 am. Again not management fault but rather inconsiderate hostel guests.

Nina was an amazing host & Logan was the stand out staff member with his exuberance & confidence! (He deserves all his new lockers!) What a weekend! (Met so many classic characters!)
