View, room, service, and breakfast were excellent. Location could not have been better, right in the middle of everything. Received very good advice for restaurants and places to visit. All recommendations turned out to be great.
Balcony chairs were pretty, but could have been slightly more comfortable (room and bed were very comfortable, though)

A few things set the Augusta ahead of the pack: the people (namely Karen, Pilar, and the housekeeper), the rooms themselves, the location and the views! Karen, the owner, and Pilar, at reception, are professional, yet warm, friendly and helpful, and the housekeeper does a phenomenal job! The rooms are spacious, several have floor-to-ceiling windows (we stayed on the top floor facing the water) and thoughtfully, tastefully designed in general. The location is in the neighborhood where you'll likely want to base yourselves. And the views, if you face the water, are incredible! On top of all of that, it's a great value too!
Honestly, I can't think of a thing that I didn't like. While I haven't stayed at any of the other hotels in Valparaíso, I have to believe it would be hard to top the Augusta.

Beautiful hotel, ideally located in the funky, artsy hills above the harbor. We couldn't have been happier with the room, the staff, and the location.
Absolutely nothing.

fantastic View with large balcony and in a great location.
although it was comfortable with the large sliding door open our room didn’t have air conditioning. so if it’s really hot I’m not sure how fast it would cool down.

This hotel is amazing. The rooms are so beautiful, with very big windows, even the rooms towards the hills. Every morning we were served a superb breakfast in our room. Pilar who worked at the hotel was SO kind, helpful, warm and funny. I really loved her. I can really recommend this hotel, it was the best stay ever for us.

everything was great.

very clean and nice Design. Good location as well and only so few Unitarian the entire building which makes it very silent. breakfast is included and very tasty.
when making the reservation, check if you are on the top floor or not. the top floor apartments can get very very warm during summer and (at the moment we stayed there) there is no AC!
But the staff and owner tried everything they could to make the temperature bearable for us. 🥰

Location is excellent! Rooms are big and clean!! Breakfast was served in our room and was 100%. Pilar was so friendly and welcoming! Seriously….if you stay here bring her a cookie from Maria, Maria bakery down the street. She’ll love you forever (and she deserves it…she’s so lovely!)!!
loved it all!

Classy, well furnished and excellent location. 24/7 security at front door. Delicious breakfast served right to the door.
Our room was the only one facing away from the harbour. It backed onto the street and the outlook was spoiled by electricity and communication wires that ran right next to the balcony. It was also quite noisy at night and the sound of cars travelling down the Cobbled road was disturbing. There was no air conditioning. This is not really the fault of the hotel, just the reality of staying in Valparaiso

I have stayed at a few places in Cerro Alegre, and this has been my favorite spot so far. I plan on returning.

Personalized touches make the time here all the more memorable. In such a unique town I was lucky to experience this gem of a hotel. Aside from the striking views I also had the great fortune of a great host. Everything within the building was well-appointed and the host ensured you were well taken care of outside her four walls. Exceptional restaurants were suggested and I wish I had made time to go to the last one because the other three were stellar!! She went over and above and also arranged my transportation to my next stop. I rarely write reviews but felt the need to do so here!
I can't think of anything

Pilar was an angel. Best on-staff/concierge/hotel mom/anything ever. We felt so welcomed and she helped us with any issue. All other staff members were awesome too and we always felt comfortable. The property’s location is ideal and the view was gorgeous.
breakfasts were delicious too!
The room facing away from ocean got very hot during the day because the sun hits it so aggressively. We had two fans going which helped, but it was still very warm.

this was the best place we stayed on our trip to South America. The room was beautiful, the people who worked there were so welcoming and helpful (and funny!). and it’s situated in a really good spot. nothing bad at all to say about it.

absolutely gorgeous and comfortable rooms with incredible views. staff (especially Karen!) were friendly and attentive but also informal. it truly felt like being in a better version of “home” — we found ourselves wanting to go back to the room just to open the terrace door, hang out, look at the incredible view, and read in the Valparaiso breeze.

This was our favorite accomodation we stayed at during our trip to Chile. Karen, the owner, was friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. This is a small boutique property. Some of the things we loved most:
-Views of Valparaiso and the Pacific from our balcony. Highly recommend booking a room with an ocean view - it will not disappoint! We loved having our coffee or evening wine on our balcony and watching the sun set over the ocean and city.
-Location: Very convenient on Cerro Allegre. Walkable to many restaurants/points of interest/street art in Valpo. It was also walkable to several ascensors (the historic funiculars).
-People: Everyone was pleasant and helpful. They even had a bottle of Chilean sparkling wine for us (we were celebrating a wedding anniversary).
-Breakfast: I loved having breakfast delivered to our room in the mornings. It was so relaxing to make our french press coffee and enjoy it on our balcony. Loved the fresh fruit juice every morning!
-Room: We loved having the kitchen - the fridge and toaster oven were especially helpful and convenient.
-Wi-fi: Fast/worked well.
While it's true there is not an elevator, the stairs to reach our room were minimal (maybe 2 flights?). Far less strenous then walking the hills of the city.
Highly recommend, and would definitely stay again if we return.
Nothing related to the property.
Valparaiso is a loud-ish city (maybe the acoustics of the hills?), so recommend sleeping with earplugs if you're really sensitive to noise.

The hotel is an old house that has been tastefully converted
Room was very nice with a balcony
Staff were excellent - helpful, friendly & attentive
The noise! The building has zero soundproofing so you hear everything - people talking in reception, people walking up & down the stairs….I even had to endure the sound of the couple upstairs having (thankfully brief) intercourse & then clomping around like a herd of elephants the following morning
I paid good money to stay here but was unable to relax because of the constant noise
would not stay here again
would not recommend

best hotel in Valparaiso, pay up for the top floor room with ocean view as the view is so worth it and you won’t need to go to any of the restaurants that boast great views. Lovely breakfast and Pilar is great!

Good breakfast and comfy bed.
There was no TV in the room.
I could listen to all the noises of other rooms when people were moving inside and the maid was cleaning.
