The location was excellent - you can't do better if you are exploring the old part of the city.
The absence of a receptionist meant we had no easy why do get answers for questions like organising a taxi etc. No where to leave luggage after check out.

poor condition bed, mattress in a bad state, awful pillows and they refused my request for additional pillow. very noisy room with no sound insulation.

This is a review in 2 parts, the good and the terrible check-in.
The room was great and the location was perfect in the middle of the old city. But our short stay was further reduced by the terrible check-in experience.
When we travel we often spend 40-60 nights in different places, so I have experienced many check ins. This company uses a high tech no personal contact process and rather than take the money from your credit card they send you a link as part if their check in to pay. It must work sometimes but if you don't like surrendering your mobile to their app and don't read Spanish you may have a terrible time like us.
We ended up in the hotel foyer locked out of the room, their Tablet in the foyer was spinning in a loop, while many phone calls were made, and What'sApp messages flew by for over an hour. They said they had an office nearby but declined to send anyone around. I never got the payment link before arriving, and they seemed incapable of getting it to me despite them earlier saying the check-in was completed after I sent my Passport Photo to them via WhatsApp.

Totally impersonal. I didnt meet anyone. Everything is done by numbers and passwords. ok until something goes wrong. Dont lose the key number to your room!.

Location, location, location! Also spacious and clean! We were in room 202, windows opened into the lane. Was a fabulous view from our window. Very comfortable bed.
Bathroom smelled, even though there was a odor eliminator plugged in. The headboard became a little problematic, being in a double bed, the bed pillows kept hitting the light switch.

Location location location. Right in the middle of old university town. Perfect for Salamanca.
Parking: cars are not allowed in old town in the day time, hence you can not drive to the hotel. You need to find your own parking 15 minutes away and then carry your luggage the 15 minutes to the hotel. The losing should be modified to clearly state there is no parking.
Staff: totally not available. I messaged many times and absolutely no response. There is no one there physically so that's not an option.

Very nice hotel and very close to the best places and attractions in the area.
Although you do not meet with anyone, when you contact them they reply promptly and efficiently.

the parking but that cant be helped because you are not allowed cars where we was situated anyway .

Right in the center of things, quiet little side street with bars, restaurants and a decent coffee shop in a 2 minute walk.
Can't blame the hotel but I was on the 3rd floor and there was building work in the building next door. Hammering and drilling all day, including on the adjoining wall right next to my head.

Very efficient, very comfortable and central location for Salamanca sights. Once we grasped electronic check in the virtual keys were great.
No hot water for shower at night. Pillows a bit flat.

The water in the shower was either changing between hot and cold or it would stay scalding hot to the point it was hard to shower. I also liked the easy check in, but because the lights were motion sense and it was pretty quiet, the vibes were a little creepy. Also the walls are very very thin. I also had to move the twin beds together to get a double bed.

Great stay in the middle of the old town, everywhere in Salamanca easily accesible on food. Restaurants/Bars in the same street, but no disturbances, so walls have decent sound insulation. Access by app/code, no problem at all.
I got an accessible room for some reason, which I don't mind, but a shower curtain would still be nice to avoid flooding the whole bathroom when showering.

As a pension, it was ok. Location was good and the view of the Cathedral from our balcony was nice.
I am not a fan of the on line check in, but as I learn, it gets better.
There was a problem with the advertised cost of room with breakfast on Booking. Com and what it ended up, higher and no breakfast. The site says they are fixing it, but no compensation or an apology. Once again no staff to talk to.

Super location for sightseeing beautiful Salamanca. Many good eats nearby. Host was very responsive for helping us with the check-in. We very much appreciated the comfort and cleanliness offered by the unit at such a good price.

Gaia rooms and hosteria Sara are as always a guarantee, the room was big and clean, the check in online easy and smooth, I also appreciate the possibility to open the door with my phone

The location of Sara by Gaiarooms could not be more central to the major sights in Salamanca. The room was spacious and much to my surprise had a small kitchenette, not just the refrigerator I expected. I could cook breakfast or a small meal there. No oven of course, but a stove-top. The bed was excellent. Despite being just above a busy outdoor restaurant my room was relatively quiet due to double doors to the very narrow ledge/patio. I found it very pleasant to be there.
The code sent to me to enter the room using my phone did not work. I had to call a nearby office for help. There was a iPad-type device in the entrance-way that could have worked, I think, but the assistant on the phone opened the door remotely. There was an actual key inside I could use after that. The remote key never worked on my phone for the 4 days I was there. I do find some of the newer systems used by larger rental companies to be complex and they require a lot more back and forth via email, phone or text to make them work.

excellent location, our room was noise proof.
The air conditioning only worked the first night of our two days stay so it was very warm and uncomfortable on our second night. we couldn’t sleep.
