There was enough space in the Gite

There was no local host present, we had to leave the cash payment somewhere in the Gite, the outside door dit not close well and the WiFi did not work at all!

When we arrived, the cottage was open with the key inside. We went to the office to announce our arrival. The cottage is great - it is huge and can definitely accommodate a family or group. It is tastefully decorated to blend the historical elements of the building with modern amenities. There is a small enclosed courtyard right on the vineyards and it is in walking distance of many great champagne houses in Pierry. It was a short ride to Epernay for those looking for more restaurants, boulangeries, and shopping. The bed and bedding is extremely comfortable and the shower is great. We also were happy to have a washer/dryer, and a fully equipped kitchen. We only stayed 4 nights but hope to come back for a longer stay in this peaceful village.

We loved our stay! The only helpful thing might be to have some small amenities (soap, shampoo, etc.) in case guests arrive and don't have time to go to the store - however as long as you communicate that there isn't this, then the guests will know to bring their own (which we did!)

A great place to stay, adjacent to the vineyards of Champagne. The entire cottage was very clean. The proprietor was very helpful as we were arriving late in the evening. The cottage is well equipped, with a washer/dryer, extra blankets iron/ironing board, in addition to the fully-equipped kitchen. The lounge is comfortable and a nice place to relax. The cottage is an easy walk to restaurants and shops. If you have a car, everything you need is close by.

These are only minor complaints; despite having a full kitchen with a coffee maker and a kettle, it would have been nicer if we had been provided packets of sugar and cream. Similarly, there was no soap to wash hands in the bathrooms or in the kitchen. There were no napkins. Guests should take inventory of what is available upon arrival and go buy what you need before you settle in.
