This is the first onsen accommodation I stayed in, so I have no previous experience, but I thought it was great. The staff was very attentive and made a considerable effort to ensure seamless communication between us, as I only speak some Japanese. The ryokan is only a 5-minute walk from the bus station. The room was a good size and had a big window next to the seating area. The futon was very comfortable and the staff put it in and out for the guest's convenience. Breakfast was good and varied. On top of the usual male/female separated onsen baths, there was also a private rotenburo on the first floor.

One evening the hot spring water in the onsen was too hot to bathe in, so I had to wait until the following morning to use it. Still, that gave me a chance to try the free public onsen by Hirayu Folk Museum.

Absolutely amazing hospitality and delicious food. Cannot thank Tanaka San enough for being so warm and generous. Would love to come back here again.

I wish there were a no smoking room option but everything was so clean it didn't matter.

Second time I stayed here. Just as amazing as before. Definitely a good place to stay if you want to be in an onsen town and have a nice bath. Highly recommend the dinner and breakfast. Great staff.
