I worried that since we were a late booking, the place would be subpar, but it was lovely. Location is about a block off the main drag, so it was best of both worlds: walking distance to restaurants, shops and bars, but quieter for being on a residential street. The room was spacious and clean with a cozy table and chairs in a bay window. And breakfast, included, offered a nice selection of hot and cold items and freshly baked pastries, including medialunas. Otto at the front desk is a charming multilingual hospitality pro who also contributed to a relaxed stay.

Very warm at the property. Staff got an engineer to turn off our radiator but the rest of the hotel and still very hot so assez challenging to sleep.

The location was PERFECT! The staff was so helpful and friendly. The place was cozy, inviting, and very clean. It had everything we needed. Our room was great. We were so happy we chose the Kalken hotel. Haha we actually said this to each other multiple times during our stay!

probably more a fault of booking but I was supposed to be in an upgraded room with carpet. When I asked they said it was a superior room and no rooms have carpet. The room was fine for the money I paid but if it had been the superior room price I would not have been happy. The breakfast was ok but we have had better in similar grade hotels.

Pretty decent hotel, perfectly located right next to the main street. Not the newest one but well maintained. Clean, bright and warm rooms with enough space. Regular continental breakfast, friendly staff.

We had a free upgrade from “booking” but been confused whether the room actually matched the one we supposed to have. Would be great to have kettle or coffee-maker within the room.

The hotel has an excellent central location. We were able to park our rental car no problem. Beds were fairly comfortable, and staff was really excellent and helpful.

The rooms are very basic, no frills. A mini fridge would have been nice.

The location was perfect for going to the center, just 10 minutes walking. Breakfast was also included, which was nice and it was possible to get breakfast as takeway if you were in a rush without added fees

My room was right in front of a pub that didn't close until well into the night. It was extremely noisy that, even though I was extremely tired, I couldn't sleep because of the noise. When I brought it up to the staff, they made no effort to address the issue, only asking if they wanted me to call the police, which I didn't want because it wasn't the pub's fault it was so loud. I was hoping they could change my room but it looked like they weren't going to give me that option, so I said nothing in the end. For the price I paid, it wasn't worth it.
