I wish we would have times our arrival better or packed lighter. We wanted to enjoy avalon in the morning before check in but didnt want to lug our luggage around. There is an option right near the port where you can pay to have them store luggage. It runs about $10 a bag. We went to lunch and then walked back and grabbed a taxi to take about a mile up to hamilton cove. We took a van and was $19 plus $1 per person after that. We needed to take the taxi back to the same spot upon checkout as well. This condo is bigger than the pictures portray it to be. It is two stories. The master bedroom has a shower and big bathtub in it so its great for a romantic dip for two. The view is gorgeous and doesn't compare to the other buildings. I got two condos for this trip and the other just had a partial view of the water. There are beach chairs in the closet, along with some sports equipment to use at the amenities. The kitchen is equipped with almost anything you could possibly need. Washer and dryer in unit are convenient you just need your own detergent. The golf cart was really fun to use. Gas needs to be filled at other side of the island. Use regular gas not diesal. If you stay at Hamilton cove you definitely need a golf cart. I want to book this exact unit again next year. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. We found it to be very clean and well supplied with dishes and towels.The view was spectacular and we enjoyed the tennis courts and miniature golf.

We did not expect the many safety issues that we encountered. There are broken latches on doors and windows, and no information provided for the appliances, electronics, and golf cart. The 8 page Vrbo/ Catalina Island Vacation Rental contract stipulates in 8 pages the rules, regulations and expectations. We understand our obligation as guests, but the owners, management company and agents have obligations too. Multiple burned out light bulbs on the stairway, entry and master bedroom are hazardous for both the young and old. Doors that don't open or lock are unacceptable, as are windows that are stuck wide open. The french door latches are either broken or inoperable. The closets are filled with junk and old appliances, which we only found while looking for light bulbs and linens. The golf cart works but the driver's seat has a large peeling duct tape patch over a hole that potentially mars clothing. There is no manual for the golf cart--safety issue. The unit is 2 bedroom but advertises 6 person capacity, so use of sofa bed is necessary. Only sheets were provided--had to go to the cluttered, unkempt closet to look for pillows, clean cases and blankets! No live TV upstairs, no smart TV downstairs. There are two microwaves in the kitchen because the built in one doesn't work. NO ICE! The ice maker/water dispenser have been removed from the refrigerator but there are no ice trays. The cookware and appliances are plentiful, but are thrown into cupboards, so hard to find. We reached out to Vrbo our first night for assistance, and never got a follow up response. The Catalina Company office was closed, but was cc'd on our email, and didn't respond either. Hopefully, some time and some money invested into this stunning unit will provide a safe, stress free and enjoyable stay--good luck!

Looks as described. View is amazing and the community is nicely kept. While we were extremely happy we had one, the only thing I would recommend is upgrading the golf cart. It worked fine and got us to where we needed to go, but it's a little worse for the wear. That being said, we couldn't have been happier with our stay and plan on visiting the island again.

My family had a great experience! Everything in the unit was clean and working. It is definitely larger than the pics let on. The included covered golf cart holds 6 and was easy to drive and park. We will definitely be coming back!

This was our second time staying in Hamilton cove on Catalina island but first time at this rental. The rental was perfect!! Gorgeous views and very spacious. It was only my husband and I but 6 people could have fit very comfortably. Not too many steps compared to other locations in Hamilton cove. The golf cart was wonderful to have but could use an upgrade and only seats 4. Overall very great rental property and would happily stay again!
