Fantastic to be just 5 minutes' walk from the ancient citadel with all it's restaurants and shops. This UNESCO site is definitely worth a visit. But so is the (slightly) newer part of Carcassonne, just across the river - great shops and relaxing bars and restaurants. The accommodation is on the first floor of an old house just one street back from the river. It reminded us of Logis de France we have stayed in over the years...beautiful old mahogany furniture lovingly polished to a high sheen, period wallpaper and windows. But updated with great modern touches and superb pans in the kitchen. Superbly comfortable super king sized bed in one room and a lovely polished wood sleigh bed in the other. The shower had good water pressure and the bathroom was enormous! The kitchen has an oven, hob and microwave as well as a kettle and coffee maker. And there were lots of nice touches to make our stay comfortable. Caroline speaks really good English and gave us a fantastically warm welcome....as well as helpful restaurant recommendations. And it was a great bonus to be able to park in the driveway immediately outside the property.

We were slightly worried about leaving windows open in one bedroom overnight as the panes were slightly cracked and we were concerned that if the window blew shut it might shatter the glass. Otherwise, everything was great.

Late check in and couldn’t do from 2pm as all other places.

It is a wonderful location, in classic French, romantic style. I felt this! Close to the citadel, the bridge, the old center and very good access to the highway. Very good communication with the owners, even if it was online. I will return again@

We needed an extra fan and possibly extra pillows,but not a reason not to stay here.

Great apartment, nicely done and feels spacious. Very close to the town centre so easy walk with children. good Car parking place - off road on a quiet street.

Beautiful, spacious apartment. Quiet residential area. Walking distance (+/-1.5km) to both the Cite and the Canal du Midi/ Railway station. Catherine is an excellent hostess; helpful without being intrusive.
