Excellent location; close to all the main attractions. They allowed a early check in, and the staff were helpful. The concierge service is excellent.

The view for a expensive double room was an alley with a night club. The music and noisefrom the club was loud through the night making it difficult to sleep.

Property was gorgeous and in the perfect location! We were within walking distance of everything!

Hotel full of character, location is fantastic with all of the major tourist locations within a few minutes walk. Staff were similarly wonderful and always happy to assist ( just one example kindly providing food and coffee and orange juice when we were late for breakfast) We regularly stay in luxury 5* hotels and this hotel could teach many of them how to look after their guests

Room was excellent and very spacious. Walk in shower was great for my mam who has mobility issues and also right beside lift which was amazing. Breakfast was really nice and staff in bar were so friendly.

Nice comfortable room. The bed was very comfortable too. The decor of the hotel is lovely. Some of the staff were kind, polite and helpful.

Although the room was comfy, we didn’t like the glass door into the bathroom. We like complete privacy. Some of the staff in the breakfast restaurant were quite unfriendly some were nice. They were extremely busy maybe short staffed. We couldn’t get the TV, Radio or coffee machine to work. We are not technically minded. This was very disappointing. It’s so easy to switch the tv and radio on. It’s also easy to put the kettle on and pour hot water into a mug with a spoonful of coffee in it. I think you are making a lot of people choose a different hotel with more accessible gadgets. The receptionist at the end of our stay told us we should have let them know. We were only there a few days we didn’t want people coming into our room invading our privacy. Maybe it’s an idea to ensure everything is working and accessible to everyone before the guests arrive.

De tv verbinding op de kamer viel telkens uit. Bij het inchecken werd er gezegd dat je tot 11.00 uur kon ontbijten. Toen wij 9.45 uur gingen ontbijten werden wij ontvangen, niet placeert maar we konden zelf een tafeltje uitzoeken. Ook toen werden wij er niet op geattendeerd dat het ontbijtbuffet om 10.00 uur dicht ging. Er kwam niemand bij onze tafel vragen of we koffie of thee wilden. We liepen langs het buffet en ik nam een schaaltje yoghurt. Om 10.10 uur wilde ik wederom naar het buffet voor een broodje, wat fruit en drinken en toen bleek het gesloten. Dat was dus een duur bakje yoghurt voor 27,00. Ik vertelde de manager dat er bij incheck gezegd was dat je tot 11.00 uur kon ontbijten echter hij haalde zijn schouders op. Het buffet was al 5 minuten langer open gebleven. Geen excuses. Slechte zaak, het personeel had 3 x de gelegenheid hierover juist te communiceren. Mijn zoon en ik zijn vertrokken echter ook dit valt niemand van de medewerkers op. Het restaurant ziet er wel mooi uit en wordt geroemd tijdens de rondvaart dus ik denk dat het betere tijden heeft gekend. Er wordt geen mogelijkheid geboden om met korting ergens bij een parkeergarage in de buurt te parkeren, dus hou voor 1 nacht rekening met minimaal 92,00 parkeerkosten We gingen hier naar toe omdat we fan zijn van het hard rock hotel echter sinds afgelopen december is het helaas clayton hotel.

Communication re mobility limitations was inadequate. The hotel does not seem to have options for a couple, where one person uses a wheelchair. We were not provided with clear options for suitable rooms with our needs.

Good gym, comfortable room, excellent breakfast. Staff were welcoming, helpful and polite.

Room key and gym access key kept mal-functioning, so I kept needing to return to the reception multiple times to solve the issue. Not sure if they have bed bugs, as my legs were itchy in the morning.

First of all, those who will go in cold weather should be careful because they will get cold in their hotel rooms, I think! Also, they charged more than the price shown on booking and could not explain it. I don't think their rooms have much to do with the ones in the pictures.

The property was well located. The rooms were clean and overall the facility was nice.

The room location was a disaster. We were located on M - room 1. We could hear people coming in loudly into the lobby until 1 or 2 a.m. and then leaving beginning at 6 or 7 a.m. We asked mulitple times to be switched and despite the fact that people were coming and going - we were repeatedly told there was no option to change room. I don’t know how that could be!!! The staff was generally rude and dismissive. The conceirge was never available and then when he was, he just googled stuff. I know how to google too. And everyone acted as if I was a bother with basic questions like - how early should I get to the train station?

Breakfast was very good . We stayed for five days, since it was basically the very same everyday , it did get a little less appealing. I don't want to be negative, because it was very good.

The American Hotel was everything you could wish for on a weekend break. Central to everything, seamless check in and friendly staff. Our room was spotless and just what we asked for in the booking requests. That being away from the lifts and overlooking the canal. The Breakfast Buffet had everything and was immaculately laid out even towards the end of service. Cannot fault the hotel in any. Superb stay and cannot wait to return.

Nothing really. The only complaint had nothing to do with the hotel but was just guys working with chainsaws early one morning (8am) which interrupted our sleep…

Excellent location!!!! Comfortable mattresses!

Check in and check out was longer than usual.

The bed was definitely comfortable and location is good .

The room was dirty , it was not cleaned properly . We could smell smoke in the bathroom from other people smoking in their rooms. It was very noisy from the A/C’s outside the window .

Le bruit provenant de la rue le samedi soir. Les craquements du plancher. La lumière bleue dans la salle de bain (?). Le shampoing/ gel douche en emballage individuel, pas très éco, pour 1 pers. seulement. 1 seule bouteille d’eau pour 2 pers. L’air était très sec dans la chambre et pas de possibilité d’ouvrir la fenêtre.

Nothing Annoyed I’d paid for last minute breakfast but staff cleared buffet earlier than we were told so had little choice for a lot of money not worth it

Niet de goedkoopste optie maar zeker een perfecte locatie om te overnachten na een avondje Paradiso (gelijk om de hoek!) Prima restaurant met leuk personeel, De geboekte classic kamer was niet al te groot maar had wel toegang tot een groot balkon deels met uitzicht op het Leidseplein.

Bij inchecken moet er een borg van €50,00 worden achtergelaten, dit kan middels een reservering op je creditcard of via de pin. Op zich geen probleem, maar indien je dit via de pin doet krijg je bij het uitchecken de € 50,00 (als je de kamer tenminste in goede orde achterlaat :-) ) helaas in cash weer uitbetaald. Dit vind ik als voornamelijk digitaal betaler wel lastig.
