Great location and accommodations. Though we were unable to secure paddles for the paddle boards and kayaks, we made the best of the lake life and fun. Accommodations were clean and perfect for relational time and watching UGA football game. Only 9 people maximum at any given time was strictly enforced.

We had an awesome time enjoying the lake. The house is super cute and very comfortable. It was very clean and it is also very well stocked with everything you would need. I would definitely stay here again.

I booked this property for my son's 16th birthday weekend. The idea was to spend time with both family and have some of his friends over for a sleepover. We had rented a boat for the occasion as well. Everyone loved the house and the property was just as described. When I booked the property months in advance I stated we would have 6 guests (my elderly parents, my sister and brother in law and myself and my son)...which is exactly what we did on the first night. The next morning my elderly parents and my sister and BIL left and my sons friends started to arrive (dropped off by parents in some cases who stayed long enough to chat small talk and then left). One parent asked me if it would be OK to bring the younger sibling so that they could have a date night since we had their other child with us already. I agreed without giving that much thought. Before noon on Day 2 I received a text from the host stating that we had exceeded the number of guests on the property and that people would have to leave within two hours. There were more than 9 people on the property when some were saying goodbye and others were arriving but that was really just a short (30 min) period of time. We ended up one person over the limit (because of the younger sibling)...so I offered that two of our guests would sleep outside. We took very good care of the property but honestly the idea of being watched all weekend ruined the experience for me. Too bad...

While photos of this property depict a beautifully updated lake home, we found this to be an older manufactured home with some cosmetic updates. The downstairs room boasts a sleeper sofa, but can only be accessed through an exterior door. We felt this to be unusable with small children. The cobwebs were easily swept away and the dead hugs were easily washed off the pots and pans in the kitchen, so we decided to make the best of the situation. Hartwell is my hometown, so while lake time was a plus, seeing family was our main intention. We invited 7 family members over for BBQ at 5:30pm the Friday evening of our stay. At 6:30pm I received a hostile text from our host informing us that they had “checked their cameras” and we were infringing upon our VRBO contract. Her complaints were that we were visited by a King Charles Cavalier and that we had 3 too many people visiting the property. I reminded the host that in the paperwork she sent to me there was no mention of a pet policy and that we were within the guest maximum included in that document. She admitted that she had updated the rules since sending me the paperwork and forgot to send the updates to me. Nevertheless, she demanded that I “remove the extra guests and the dog within the hour.” Absolutely mortified, I had to ask my family to leave. This is a decent property for those who don’t mind being watched, but if you are looking for a quiet property to rest and relax with your family this isn’t the property for you.

I always take the kids for a short retreat before they head back to school. All 4 loved the house and lake. Screened in porch with big TV was a hit for movie nights

Just what our family needed for some fun in the sun

My husband and I, our three kids, and the grandparents went to this lake house for 4 days and we had a blast. The home was very clean, had everything we needed, and was really close to Lake Hartwell. The owner responded very quickly and was super helpful. We loved the kayaks and paddle board that were available to use. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for all of us. I absolutely loved drinking my morning coffee on the back screened porch. I would definitely recommend this home!

Overall stay was great. The lake house was beautiful with tons of stuff to do. Would recommend for anyone planning their next family vacation. Brian and Lisa were a huge help along the way. They responded to any questions we had fairly quickly. Definitely would stay here again.

We needed a place to stay for a family wedding and this exceeded our expectations. This property was amazing! Clean, quiet, safe and very accommodating. My family had so much fun. The lake is beautiful and refreshing. The hosts are very communicative and very nice.

We have stayed at some nice VRBO’s on the lake and this was by far our favorite. Your house was beautiful inside and just the size we needed. We loved the outdooor deck to listen to the absolute quite minus watching the Braves We really want to come back agin to share with friends

We were in the area for my nephew's graduation. Weather and family time was great. The owners were very concerned about the number of guests we had at the house but once I explained they all were not staying there, all was good. We used the house as a base for meals and hanging out. Could not ask for a better location and lake house. Be aware the owners are very concerned about the septic tank and wanted to make sure we did not have more than our 6 guests staying at the property. Also, a squirrel got fried on the electric lines and we were without power for several hours. I had to go to a neighbor's house for the name of the electric company and the phone number to report the outage. This is a very rural area but the internet was pretty good! I would stay at this lake house again. It's very comfortable, had great living spaces, and the porch was amazing! The downstairs living area was very nice and very cold! We could not figure out to adjust the temperature but it was fine with my nephew who's very hot natured. This was one of the nicest places we have stayed and you can tell the owners are all about order and maintainance!

This house is so well appointed and so perfectly situated on a beautiful quiet cove on clean and sparkling Lake Hartwell. The house is charming throughout and so clean and thoughtfully equipped. We loved our stay and our hosts were so gracious and communicative. This one is a winner for sure!

An amazing lake house that provide great fun, stunning views, and relaxation. Lisa & Bryan had great communication and were extremely accommodating. Our expectations were definitely exceeded and we hope to be back soon.

We had a great stay at this beautiful property! We had a bumpy start with our son locking us out of the basement using the door lock instead of the key pad! Bryan and Lisa were so amazing and helpful in finding solutions for us! Then our hot water tanks were not working…. But again Bryan and Lisa were great!! They had them replaced the very next morning and we had a nice hot shower after our hike up Tallulah Gorge!!! They were so kind and attentive to our needs! Our family of 8 had a great time and it was a nice long weekend getaway!!

Due to a 3rd party issue, our rental was not in a clean state. Owners, Bryan & Lisa immediately offered solutions and were very attentive to our party’s needs. Main bedroom bed is super comfortable! Upstairs exterior area was great for lounging while watching the football game outdoors. Looking forward to returning, possibly during warmer weather.

The house is perfect for a family get away. The property was very clean and cozy, with a very welcoming experience and property owners. I would definitely recommend this property and we will be booking again hopefully in the summer time to enjoy the lake. Thanks for an awesome weekend.

As frequent VRBO renters, we haven't found too many better places than this wonderful home on Lake Hartwell. Lots of living spaces, great tv's, awesome porch, extra room in the basement, everything we needed in the kitchen, a large dock on the lake and we even caught a few fish. Highly recommend!

Beautiful home on a quiet street overlooking a peaceful part of the lake. We stayed with friends including 4 teenagers. Everyone enjoyed themselves from the fire pit to the games to the kayaks. Owners were very responsive and pleasant. Our favorite part of the house was the porch. Absolutely stunning! We were sad to leave. Thanks for hosting us!

A charming lakeside home with a contemporary decor. The warmth of the home made us feel like “ home away from home.” Comfortable accommodations for 8 persons with beautiful views, spacious rooms and huge sun deck room. We loved our stay there so much we think we’re going to do it again in the future!

The house was clean and very nice. We had a great time. The lake toys were a huge hit with the kids. The internet was the only downside to the property. The internet was spotty and went in and out. It was a little annoying but didn’t ruin out time. Great place to stay at the lake.

Quiet and clean getaway with a variety of different activities that will meet everyone’s interest. If you enjoy reading, playing games, boating, fishing, or just watching TV, there’s something for everyone. We had a fantastic trip and will be making this one of our stops each year.

We rented a pontoon boat for tubing and there was plenty of room at the dock to tie up with lots of area to spare for the kids to swim and fish. And to our amazement, there were no mosquitos as it got dark! The newly renovated screened in porch was a favorite spot and we appreciated having multiple seating areas throughout the property where family members could break off for quiet conversations. Second fridge in the basement was a godsend, as it is a long trip to the store. There were plenty of linens and towels and as others reviewers have mentioned, the technology is top notch. Temps were in the 90's during our entire visit and the AC worked perfectly throughout the house! Communication with the hosts was excellent and prompt. Honestly, we can't wait to return.

I don't want to get into the details but feel it necessary to let anyone interested in renting this home that in ALL my years and years of renting from VRBO never have I ever dealt with people like this. The home was as pictured. It wasn't worth it.
