We love this place. The property is so well kept with a little area to sit on the porch. It has a separate bedroom from the living room and it’s so comfortable. It is a short walk down to the Manteo waterfront for food and shopping and right across the street from the Outer Banks Distillery.

Manteo is a quaint little town along the sound. The Downtowner was in walking distance to shops. It was a great place for a quiet get away for two. The location was also easily assessable to the beach area and restaurants across the bridge!

Nice big comfortable bed, nice table for eating or working in nice living room.with tons of books. Outdoor nook was nice to sit in at night.

Richard is an awesome host and was always in communication with us especially with Tropical Storm Idalia that went thru 48 hours before. You would never knew it came thru the Outer Banks. The place was very quite and wonderful for us. Walkable to the down area to eat and enjoy the local festivities. We will be back .

We loved our stay in Manteo and this guest house was clean, well-decorated, well-appointed, and perfect for our stay. The bed and furniture were very comfortable, and the garden is peaceful. We loved all of the shops and activities in and around Festival Park and the waterfront. The beaches are a quick drive across the bridge, as are many wonderful restaurants. We will return!

We have been vacationing at the Outer Banks for over 30 years. We have always stayed on or near the beach. We would always spend time in Manteo, so this time we decided to actually stay in Manteo. This 2-room unit was perfect for my wife and myself. It was very clean and well decorated. The garden area was beautiful. All communication with the owners was pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stay in this unit again!

I don't write reviews unless they either don't meet my expectations or they really exceed. Otherwise I feel they are just fluff. This one is a great place. The first thing my wife always does is check for cleanliness. She was VERY PLEASED with the unit. There is everything you would need for a stay and we stayed a week. We loved how quiet the neighborhood was. I was a little concerned with parking on the street, but after seeing we were next to a police station, I felt so much better. There were zero issues and I didn't have a single worry about it. The area is really great. Your first thought when staying in the Outer Banks is to be on the water or Nags Head. I can say that the drive over to the beaches and other activities is not inconvenient at all. It is totally worth the ride.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this special place in downtown Manteo. The space with nicely decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. We loved the location and the proximity to all points of the outer banks. There was plenty of room in the living area and the gardens are gorgeous and well-kept. It is a real gem and look forward to a return trip!

A very quaint setting and beautiful living space. We were very comfortable staying here and the property is very close to the center of town. Shops and restaurants were enjoyable.

This was like a little apartment. It was perfect for the 3 days we stayed. Walking distance to the waterfront and shops and restaurants. The rental had great sized rooms and very pleasantly furnished. There was a microwave, refrigerator with a little freezer, and a coffee maker. You aren’t going to cook a meal here, but perfect for breakfast or heating up leftovers. Dishes and utensils readily available. The area was very quiet during our stay-in a residential area. Loved it and would stay again.

The house was perfect for our weekend getaway. It is decorated with great taste and just cozy in general. You have a view of the house’s pretty garden and is located at walking distance of the Rum distillery and other attractions in Manteo. Communication with Patrick was great and instructions were very clear. Would definitely come back.

We stayed here for a long weekend. The Downtowner was perfect. Everything was clean, just as pictured, and the gardens were even more beautiful in person. We could have stayed on the porch all day! The property is within walking distance to everything in Downtown Manteo. The owner was very responsive prior to check-in, and we had no issues during our stay. The location was quiet and private. We are already planning a return trip!

This cottage could not be better located and the owner is perfectly prepared for guests and their anticipated needs. The owner has prepared concise, clear and thorough instructions to make your stay easy and worry free for you and him as well. The accommodations are excellent, we designed and maintained. The bed and bedding extremely comfortable. I have stayed in dozens of short term rentals in 10 different countries. This experience is the ideal experience.

The Downtowner was fantastic. Very clean and well appointed. We loved having coffee in the garden each morning. Property manager was very helpful when we asked questions. Check in and out was easy. I’d definitely stay her again.

I had a fabulous time. This property is so serene. It has amazing gardens and was close to the coffee shop and restaurants. I would highly recommend this for a mature couple or anyone seeking to relax.
